student loans. Scholarships and student loans and a few contest wins (ie, writing) got our daughter through professional school. She graduated this last May. If she wants it bad enough, it can certainly be done. p.s., i bet they teach a little more than you are giving them credit for!

She needs to apply for scholarships if she hasn't already.
My daughter did that and with the multiple scholarships that she got it covers nearly all of her cost and I pay the difference.
There are all sorts of scholarships out there.
My second college-bound child is applying for scholarships right now. My first is in his second year at college, and he is at a state school, but he's received some scholarships from sources that did no require he attend a state school. My second has a real assortment of applications to deal with. I also went to college out-of-state with a few scholarships I cobbled together from various sources. That was way back in the day, though, before there was internet. My sons found most of their scholarships by searching the internet and also through their guidance counselors at school. My first son, in particular, is just not a wonderful student. He's a solid C student with an occasional B thrown in here and there. Even he was able to find a couple of scholarships that fit the bill.
Scholarships are given to all types of students for all sorts of reasons. You just have to be willing to spend some time searching. Have your child stop at the guidance office. They will have lots of information to get her started. Once you get into the process of it all, you'll find that one bit of information leads to another and then another.
Incidentally, I studied broadcasting, as well! I didn't finish in that major, but I really loved those two years. I went to Temple University in Philadelphia, which as a fantastic degree programs in broadcasting/film/radio.
COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIPS
My first daughter was lucky with the scholarships and has just graduated from a private college in state with a degree in Nursing (BSN). She went to this $34,000 a year college for $13,000 a year but still has $60,000 of student loans to pay back but she makes $3,000 a month and has no other expenses. My other daughter chose to go out of state and Massachusetts only helps in state students. She goes to Umass at Amherst and there is so many scholarships if you live in MA. Anyway she is also on student loans. I told my girls this is the only way you can go to high priced colleges if this is what you want. They have 10 years to pay for them once they graduate. Most of their friends are doing the same way. We also applied the FASA 4 years in a row and it helped with the first child but even when I had both in college it did not help my second child. She still has to pay the going rate for out of state. I even called up Umass and said another college in MA is giving her $10,000 scholarship off the tuition and they said well tell her to go there. I really think it depends on the college. GOOD LUCK
how many of you needed scholarships for college
tuition for you or a child and didn't qualify - did ya know the illegal immigrants are getting them? That's when I went off!
But that doesn't apply to every
situation. In my case I got hit with something that was out of my control. I see where you are coming from because most times it is irresponsible spending and debt accruing that causes the problem but not always.
It is better to do an episiotomy than to apply
forceps to the head of the baby. Usually an instrumental delivery necessitates an episiotomy. I have never heard that a massage to the perineum is enough to substitute an episiotomy.
Lady - get a grip. You want me to apply because
you "dare" me to? Your weird and out of touch with reality.
Nice attitude, there. Can we apply that to MTs, too?!

After vacation, go to facility and apply? This might

Good advice was given here. Suggest vet check-up for kitty needs vet check. sm
I've had 2 females over the years who developed stones/crystals in urine or UTIs. Both of them started spraying inappropriately. Never had a female spray inappropriately other than in these instances. They go into spasm and can't help themselves. If it is a urinary problem, eventually you may see slight pink-tinged spray if it gets that far untreated due to the irritation from constantly trying to pee. One more thought is if the kitty is not sick, maybe the other cat won't let her use the litter box for some reason. Maybe set up another box for her.
She mentioned the car. You go apply for food stamps, sm
and see what it takes to qualify. Maybe you will enjoy that experience. You have no idea. Go ahead, I dare you. Take all you receipts down there, and you children's birth certificates, and all your utility bills, etc, etc. You will see just how great it is to apply for food stamps, and exactly what you get for that.
Too bad your opinion doesn't apply to children.
LOL
Ladies, how did you learn to apply makeup?
How have you changed the way you wear makeup as you have aged? What do you wear and tell me how you apply it? I've never worn makeup except for awhile in high school and I'm thinking that I'm needing some color in my face now that I've aged (what a horrid word that is!!). The thing is, I know NOTHING about it. Tell me everything I need to know so I won't end up looking like a clown!! PLEASE.
These same issues apply to all message boards.
x
I have heard you can apply hot pepper to plants
x
Right, but a lot do apply Botox around the mouth area and
on top of this they get collagen injecting into their lips and then they get this fish-lip look with a masky face.
Especially aging actresses!
Eeeewww!
Depending on where you live, there are "scholarships" that you can apply for such as the McKay
scholarship, which cover most, if not all, of the cost of a private school, if you would like to go that route. The school itself can provide you with this type of information, where and how to apply, most of the time online. Many times they have church and non-church affiliated private schools that you can choose from.
Anyone know organizations where people can apply for donated cars? (sm)
I am trying to help a family that is in desperate need of a vehicle so that the dad can keep his job and take care of his family. They live far enough out that there are no buses and no one to carpool with. I know there are organizations who can help. Can anyone direct me? Thank you so much in advance.
Nope, you gotta put your thinking cap on, doesn't apply
If you reach full retirement age, that is what I have reached, no money is taken back from you from SS. If you take early retirement (it was 65, now with my year 66 and increasing)then you are limited as to how much you can make and I heard SS takes $2 of every 3. There is no limit when you get to full retirement and I am there!!
You might want to check out the
New MT/Student board. There are lots of posts there that would probably interest you like which schools are good and those sorts of things. It is tough to get started unless you work on-site or are willing to take a cut in pay at first. Good luck to you and congrats on the new baby.
Well, what do you know?? Check this out
Maybe this would work with candles too!?!?

is it very expensive (if you don't mind me asking) I'll have to go check out their website. Thanks for the info!
Check-N-Go
Be very careful with those things. I'm in Florida and have used Check-n-Go here locally. Not sure if they have an online site, but they are very reputable.
You should check with....sm
the manufacturer of your laminate to see what they recommend.
Good luck with the dog on the rug. My sister just put in hardwood floors and their also 10-year-old Pomeranian is having a horrible time trying to walk on it.
I need to check that out
I've heard of them, actually on this board, I think. I checked them out at the time but didn't do any more than that. Maybe it's time to get one and do a pre-emptive cleansing the moment I feel symptoms coming on again.
Thanks!
Um, yes but would check that out thoroughly
a couple of neighborhoods in NJ were named this year, including where I grew up, and what a joke!
One is a town they were recently calling the *cancer cluster* and investigating due to the chemical plants and extremely high cancer rates.
It is also where they built million dollar homes smack in the middle of normal moderate priced homes and then also not too far away from the bunch of low income housing/projects they added over the years.
Well when a couple of these million dollar couples went to the public schools for the first time, they cried! Actually cried. Guess they didn't do their *homework* (no pun intended) before buying. It's been said they can't afford private school because the big deals strapped themselves just to live there. Oh well.
As for me, I'd never buy a house there and I moved away!
My family and friends are convinced the magazine was paid off or maybe somebody knows somebody, like everything else. Wouldn't doubt it. : )
Thank you...I will check it out!! nm

I had to check the
board to hear about Misha's dog. As far as the troll, ignore it and maybe it will go away LOL.

My friend's husband is in the hospital. He went into the ER at 7:00 Sunday night with a blood sugar of 600! At midnight, the ER clerk gave my friend a bill for $9000. I have never heard of them giving you a bill so fast! At 4:30 a.m., he went into the ICU. P.S. He is doing better, and as far as I know, no more bills yet...
Check out....

It does cost. I think I paid $40 for 1 year, but it covers every subject and has all kinds of worksheets to print out.
You could check....

I don't know if they will be more expensive or not, or even if they will have exactly what you want, but they carry a lot of different brands/styles.
I did check that out....SM
and they do carry Tabletop Gallery, but not the pattern, Winterland, that I want. I appreciate your advice!
Thank you so much! I will check!!
She could check...
the CDC website for faster information. They should have information on there about MRSA and exposure risks. If not, I believe they have a number on the site where you can call the offices and request information.
Please take him to the vet to check

Thanks! I'm going to check them out!

Wow...check this out!
A doctor in Colorado found a surprise when removing what he thought was a benign growth from a newborn's brain. Instead of a microscopic tumor, out popped a tiny foot, partially formed hand, a thigh and another partially formed foot.

I am checking now and there are tons of videos of him.
thanks, we should all check it out
Just checking out the website gave me enough inspiration to get to the bedroom closet today.
I'd have to check into it
I couldn't stand not knowing...in fact, I can't stand not knowing. I had a very similar situation a year ago but it was a phone call, not a note. I'm still not sure of the truth, which is very hard. Good luck and God bless
check with him sm
If you don't have kids, just put it up on the refrigerator for him to see when he gets home and see what happens. There are lots of "nuts" out there and it may not be true. Just watch how he handles it, you'll be able to tell. If it is not true, then you have to laugh at it. If you have kids, then you have to be very careful when and where you say anything, as they will never forget it, never! So be careful and certainly, let him see it as you will carry it around with you inside and get sick. Good luck!
No check,
$13 per week in check..last I heard it was to start around April 1. Only people getting checks are people on Social Security.
thank you, i will check into that sm

Be sure to check out VRBO.com :) Lots of great deals there!
Check ebay
I found six copies on ebay, that may be one of the few ways to get new movies on VHS anymore.
You need to check with the SS Administration as to how much SM
money you are allowed to make before your benefits are affected. If you retire at 65, you are allowed to make a certain amount of money a year before affecting your SS benefits. However, you will have to pay taxes on any and all extra money you make. I know that at age 70 you are allowed to make as much as you want (or are able to) and there is no penalty to your SS benefits. You do, however, have to pay taxes, Medicare taxes and SS taxes on any and all money you earn.
Just call the SS Administration and they will be very happy to help you and tell you what amount of money you are allowed to make in the year you start receiving SS benefits.
Please check your email.
