breastfeeding vs bottlefeeding

OK, my oldest son (almost 20) is an exceptional young man also, yet he was bottle fed.  My daughter (almost 17) is a very bright, beautiful, and extremely respectful and responsible young lady, also bottle fed.  I don't think the way children received their nutrition as an infant has as much impact on what kind of an adult they become as does the general parent-child relationship, which also has to include knowing when to let go and let the children grow up and become independent persons. I did breast feed my youngest (8 YO) son for 2-1/2 years, and he too is a precious, intelligent, and respectful child...because we raised him and his brother and sister to be that way.  The simple fact that a child was breast fed does not make that child better than the bottle fed child...

    Breastfeeding
As for school - he was born in September and in my state he could not start school until he was 6. My first child weaned herself at 6 months and then went to a bottle for a while and then to the cup. My son went straight from the breast to a cup and food - I never spent a dime on formula, baby food - and very little on diapers - as I used cloth diapers with both of my kids. I was also a wetnurse during the time that I breastfed my son - to make extra money - they don't pay military families enough - and this was a good way to make money, as well as provide superior nutrition to other children. My opinion is that if you do not approve of breastfeeding or BF in public - look the the other way - God gave you breasts for two reasons - sexual pleasure and BF - I'm sure you would not be up in arms if I told you that I allowed my husband to pleasure me by s*cking my nipples. By the way - my areolas are larger than a 1/2 dollar and my breasts stayed large after breastfeeding - rather than decreasing to nothing - a plus to my husband now.

My daughter weaned before she was 3, on her own.
Yah, notice it is a BOY she is breastfeeding...anyone think about that?
    LOL
While breastfeeding in public does not necessarily
offend me, I think some discretion is absolutely necessary and some things are better done in private. God also made our bodies for procreating, but we wouldn't want to see that done in public, either. JMO.
The poster meant breastfeeding is primative in PUBLIC in our society today.
I agree with her.  I don't have a problem with someone breastfeeding their baby, and I mean BABY, not toddler, but discretion should be used.  That woman knew full well that she was going to be on a plane. She could have bottled her breast milk for her TODDLER instead of making others uncomfortable around her. It's the 20th century, not the dark ages, and not Ethiopia.  And, this lawsuit crap only makes the mother look even more like a beatnik dingbat.
