My divorce was final for a year before I started dating again - but we had been living apart for a couple of years prior to that. I didn't have any interest in dating either - my daughter was in college at the time.. so I was very lonely and I think that is why I decided to think about dating again. . it was very scary at first. . I went out with a couple of really nice guys before I met my fiance and have been with him quite a while. . My ex died soon after our divorce was final, so I don't have that aspect of things to deal with. Are there any other social activities you enjoy that don't necessarily involve dating? Maybe spending more time with friends or volunteer activities or something?? I totally understand missing the family unit thing. Since my daughter was older, I didn't have that problem as much but I did miss just normal things like going to movies, etc. with someone else. . But I was totally ready to date when I did, so I would suggest not to rush that - no matter how long it takes. . you will know when the time comes.
