Hi,
Yes I have lupus. I dont know what you mean by "crippled up" but lupus is not a crippling disease. Yes, it is a rheumatological disease but rheumatoid arthritis is crippling. Lupus can affect all the internal organs, skin, muscles, bones, joints, etc. Mine is affecting the bones, joints, muscles, and tendons. I also have Crohn's disease and diabetes as the major ones.
You need to be more specific in what you mean by "crippled up."
Lupus does make you stiff and sore also. Have they mentioned fibromyalgia to you? It is in the rheumatological diseases, but also it not crippling.
look forward to hearing from you, hope you get better.

Are you sure you do not have fibromyalgia? I have had that for the past 15 years with pain, sometimes almost crippling and fatigue. My sister was on the borderline for lupus, not positive enough to be lupus, so her doctors including a rheumatologist felt it was also fibromyalgia. See a rheumatologist as soon as possible. I am seeing a physiatrist, been on many medications, none really help, but when I see him again I am going to ask him about the FDA recently approved drug Lyrica for fibromyalgia. I know the pain, in it every single day, some days better than others. Cold, snowy weather is the worst, along with humid days in the summer, would just like to stay in bed for the day. I do hope you get some relief soon. There is no test for fibromyalgia but for the many, many trigger points in your body that are so tender to touch. My trigger points, when touched make me almost fly off the table at doctor's. Please do go to a rheumatologist and he/she maybe able to help you. Fibromyalgia is not easy to live with at all, but I have accepted it and I have been an MT for many years. I will say a prayer for you that you will get better soon. You are so young to be in such pain. Google in the word fibromyalgia and look up the symptoms at a reliable site and see if you have the symptoms listed.
What do you think about the lupus, do you think that had something to do with her death?

Anyone here diagnosed with Lupus?
I've been getting worse and worse physically and am in the process of being ruled out for all sort of stuff and this (Lupus) is one of them...some test came back positive but it's not definitive and I may have to see a specialist. I should really pay more attention but it's so hard to focus when a bazillion things are racing through your head while you're sitting nekkid freezing your hiney off on a paper-lined table.
So, yeah, anyone got this disease and, if so, how are you dealing with it? I'm just bummed out with the amount of pain and fatigue I have. I mean, I'm all crippled up and can't even sit here at my desk for more than an hour at a time anymore and chores that used to take 20 minutes or so now take up to 2 hours. I actually was so exhausted and in so much pain I curled up in a ball on my living room floor in front of the wood stove and slept for almost 2 hours before my husband found me and got me up on my feet. I'm only 35 and this just ain't right! Any advice is much appreciated.
yeah, know a lady with lupus
and not ill at all aside from once when she was diagnosed many years ago and had the rash, etc. Same here, her housing is paid, she gets a check every month from the government, parking sticker; surely the red carpet treatment! Something is very wrong with this country :)
