This looks like a bombe table
and is not thin. I wanted just 1 thing to sit on it and that was a vase with magnolia flower arrangement in it in front of a very large mirror behind it. What is the MDF?? thanks for all these postings.

Should I use a table cloth or
I have a very pretty dining room table. Always before when having company over I have had a tablecloth on (mostly because my kittycats had put some minor scratches on the table which I had removed). I am using chargers this year under the plates and was wondering, should I just let the beauty of the wood show through or should I use the cloth once again?
I say no table cloth!
I just had a dinner party and did not use a table cloth and got so many compliments on how nice the table looked. Always nice to try new things.
Refinishing top of my entry table
Ok, messed up the top of the table with paper that has stuck to it being as liquid wasted on a part of the top. Now just cleaning that up is not doing the job. I think if wood probably an inexpensive and might just be the plywood type stuff. I need to know what steps I should take about getting the sticky stuff off, what kind of stain/paint do I use for something like this? It is wood like color finish, any ideas?
No it wasn't, it was pulled off the table to be
reworked and submitted again in January. It won't stop the BYB, they will pay for the licence cause they are making money on all those poor dogs/cats they keep in those cages. That is disgusting and it is inhumane, but those kind of people are deceitful and rotten to begin with and they always find a way.
Mine is to step away from the table....LOL!

We've just used an artificial table-top tree
since getting the dogs. Two of my close relatives have terrible allergies to Christmas trees, and my allergies have been decreasing for years. I wouldn't want to do anything that might get them going again. Plus one of my dogs has inhalant allergies, so it might mess her up too. I believe I read that the growers are spraying something on the trees now that many people are sensitive to. I don't know if it's a fire retardant or something that keeps the needles on longer. I read it a few years ago.

problem with ants on my kitchen table
I want to thank whoever recommended Terro. Somebody that my daughter works with gave her some; it is the best. We have tried everything else and I do mean everything else from fogging the house, to raid to wiping down the table completely, so again I want to thank you. All of the ants love it, which is great.

I forgot about twice baked potatoes. I also have my own take on that idea and we havent' had it in a while. Mine works well with leftover mashed potatoes too, which to me are always hard to re-invent.
I mix the potatoes with the usual butter, S&P, a little milk to loosen, then add sour cream, chopped bacon (which I store in the freezer pre-cooked leftover from breakfast), then I add chunked cheddar cheese and sometimes mashed roasted garlic if I have it. Mix all this up, toss in a 13x9 or whatever is closest in size, but extra butter on top and toss in the oven to heat and get a little brown on top. Its also great to make ahead and have waiting in the fridge. :)

I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie. The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other. Not bad for the price!

No matter what branch, age, sex, etc., the entire military has my utmost respect. I only hope they know how many of us get a lump in our throats whenever we thank them on the street OR watching something as moving as this. I know I'll never forget!

Met in the service overseas. Dated a short while then went to Denmark to get married. Lots of soldiers were getting married this way. In Denmark there were 8 other military couples with us getting married. DH and I knew each other not very long. It's been 32 years this year.

the transportation to the cremation facility, which is about 2 hours away and the remains were mailed back to the office and I picked up the pretty little tin when my 14-year-old Cocker died 2 years ago. She is now in my curio cabinet with her picture so I don't forget her. She had to be put down as well, very, very severe stroke and was not coming out of the seizure she has having. I didn't have any problem making the decision. I couldn't stand watching her suffer so. It cost about 200.00 to have her cremated but I didn't want to bury her in my yard. Too many wild critters running around that like to dig.
We met in the service in Germany
I was stationed in Germany and about a year later he was assigned to my unit. He was very very handsome and very mysterious. We didn't date (or even really speak much of maybe 5 words to each other) until end of June of 82 and July 15 we took a train to Denmark and got married. Shocked the you know what out of our families. This July is our 26th Anniversary.
