Bring the dog to my house
I would go get the dog and bring the dog to my house and take care of it.
Whenever our German shepherd wants to go out, she'll grab her leash bring it to you - SM
and if you ignore her, she will start hitting you with it...with the metal clip end!!!

Fruit salad, yummy yummy
Yummy yummy fruit salaaaaad!
You do have a lot on your plate!. .
It must be hard enough to work 6 days a week! When I get really down, I like to go over to the SNL forum at NBC.com and watch some of the videos (digital shorts) to make me laugh. There is one with Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg that cracks me up every time. I know it sounds silly, but it really helps me a lot and brightens my mood. Sometimes if I can forget about my troubles for a minute, it helps me a lot. I know you have some serious issues, and I'm not trying to make light of your situation, just telling you what works for me. I hope things get better for you!
It seems that K-Fed has stepped up to the plate
and is taking care of his kids. You don't see him out partying and running wild like Brit. These children need their father as long as he continues doing what he is doing now.
Vanity plate
I drive a Mitsubishi Mirage. I've always wanted CNUCME. (can you see me).
Your husband needs to step up to the plate, no one else can do it!!
He needs to do it at the next opportunity. You teach people how to treat you. His silence speaks volumes to them. I feel for you. Went through something a little like this with my MIL for YEARS. She had nothing against me, just the fact that her dear son had married anyone. He finally told her to watch what she said to me or to anyone else about me because word was getting back to me or he would have no contact with her. She turned overnight into the best friend I have ever had. I have never heard her saying another bad word about me. Your husband needs to put these people on *notice* and NOW. Best of luck to you.
Gosh, darn he filed the plate down,
not the sores.
Agree. There is likely a plate groove along the back SM
of each shelf to make the plates stand up.  I have some dinner plates standing up and then salad plates standing in front of them, with a stacked cup and saucer  placed in front of those.  Platters will stand in the plate groove, too.  Just try for a pleasingly balanced look.
got any good vanity plate ideas?

I have two cars (one antique, one practical).  Every year I get personalized license plates for them.  I'm just wondering if anyone has any good ideas or seen any in their state that were funny and/or good.  Ones I've had in the past include GR8NAKD, PO FOLK, 22TWAIN, IAMSOL8, HAPPIER, IXLR84U, DENT ME, just to name a few.  I get two every year, this year's ideas include HASBEEN, USED2BE, NOTHING and 4MER 10.  (I guess my frame of mind changes yearly).  So, if you have any good ideas, they sure would be appreciated.

Side note, once when I was in San Diego I saw a great big boat being towed down the freeway --- best named boat I ever did see --- It's name was "Dyspareunia."  Still makes me laugh to this day.  Thanks friends....X

Need help with ideas for remodeling house and decorating. We bought a house

in fair condition about 10 years ago, got into some medical problems, and have just now paid off the mortgage.  Hubby and I agreed we would do nothing to the house for remodeling because we wanted to pay it off first, then the medical bills.  I need to know of some websites/magazines/books to start researching for how to go about this.  These will be major repairs - roof, septic, basement, windows, pretty much everything except wiring.  Where do we start?  Maybe hire a general contractor just to do an evaluation and give us recommendations?  Hubby is a handyman but cant seem to get a handle on where to begin.  We would like to do as much of the work ourselves as possible - labor of love and all that...

Thanks for any and all kind suggestions!

Yummy!
I forgot about twice baked potatoes. I also have my own take on that idea and we havent' had it in a while. Mine works well with leftover mashed potatoes too, which to me are always hard to re-invent.

I mix the potatoes with the usual butter, S&P, a little milk to loosen, then add sour cream, chopped bacon (which I store in the freezer pre-cooked leftover from breakfast), then I add chunked cheddar cheese and sometimes mashed roasted garlic if I have it. Mix all this up, toss in a 13x9 or whatever is closest in size, but extra butter on top and toss in the oven to heat and get a little brown on top. Its also great to make ahead and have waiting in the fridge. :)

I think I might try your mushroom addition, sounds delicious!
YUMMY..and

That sounds yummy, I'm going to

Yummy Recipes
I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie.  The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other.  Not bad for the price!
that sounds yummy!
And being as I'm from the Southwest, one additional layer for me would be green chili.
yummy food
chicken/dumplings, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, pecan pie, hand-cranked ice cream, tea-cake cookies
This sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing. :) nm

Yummy! Who cares how much butter she uses?
She's rich ($$$$$$$$$) at this point....  :)  Not another show featuring cardboard and fake cooking sprays?  Do we really need another show for "light eating"?  Our elders lived long lives on lard......  :)  Keep on cookin', just don't eat that heavy stuff every day/night!  Enjoy....
You should see her cookbook! Everything sounds yummy, but you would put

That sounds so YUMMY especially with me craving coffee big time right now!
I have always thought about doing the Gevalia thing.  You'll have to let us know how it compares and if it's worth the money.
I'd bring it up with him...
That was pretty rude of the BF.
Bring someone with you
I heard on the radio the other day that a man advertised a room on craigslist, then when the woman showed up to look, he assaulted her; threw her down on a bed & tried to attack her.

Bring someone with you. Finding a room on craigslist can be a great thing, or it can be a ruse for lowlifes.

If it turns out to be legitimate, get very clear ahead of time on what they expect of you in exchange for rent & that they know you will be working.

I have this awesome recipe for hot italian subs..yummy. we had this tonight! sm
You take 2 Pillsbury french bread refrigerated rolls and make them into one big circle by combining the two.
Combine 4 T melted butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese and brush on top of bread. Bake for 15 minutes.

After bread is nice and brown, slice the ring horizontally making one large ring-type sandwich. Use your favorite deli meats and cheeses; turkey, ham, provolone, salami, pepper jack, American, pepperoni, etc. Place these on the break and bake open-faced for another 3-4 minutes. When done melting cheese add Italian dressing to the sandwich.

This is a Pampered Chef recipe that cooks very well on their round baker. It's a hit every time. I didn't have turkey but had plenty of left over ham from Christmas so I used ham and provolone.

The Pillsbury rolls are very easy to find AND I've seen them buy 1 get 1 free a few times so I will stock up and get 6 or 8 of them for this meal. Good luck!

While that is cooking
Congratulations! Any chance you can email me the recipe. Sounds yummy! - NM

It seems way too sad! My husband will never watch it with me because it's a "chick flick." LOL!

I notice that you say you went to your grandparents as a child but now you expect your children's grandparents to come to you.  I am soon to be a grandmother - DD and SIL make 200,000.00 a year and work only 40 hours weeks. I am struggling with 2 jobs - 60 hours a week, no days off, to make ends meet (was divorced and their father pretty much left me to pay for everything - now credit cards have been paid with my retirement and rolled into house payment).   We went to my grandparents and I took my children to their grandparents for most visits, why now is it my responsibility to get to them?  Do you spent at least equal time going to the grandparents' houses?  What changed?
