working full time at home which is not giving you much work. That is where you maybe should make your first cut. Why sit and wait on something that is not there? Waste of time. If your husband is out of work right now, put the full time school on hold for awhile. You cannot go in the hole waiting on things when you need the money to live. If my income depended on just 1 income and that was not doing it, then this lady finds other avenues. Several part time jobs (with just an hr here and an hr there) can add up to a full time salary. It can be done, I have done it.

Women aren't on their own listof priorities (sm)
I just read this on Oprah.com and it is really striking me. Thought it might strike some of you too. I actually have felt guilty when I was trying to exercise regularly and eat healthy....spending too much time on myself, too much money for healthy food.
Women aren't on their own list of priorities. After taking care of everyone else, they are always putting themselves last on the list, and often have very little left to give. There are many women who aren't living—they are just existing. This is a form of self-abuse. Women often wear their exhaustion as a badge of honor. The more you do for your loved ones, the more acceptable it becomes to "let yourself go." Women believe it's okay to become a "sacrificial lamb" within their own families. This is a lie that we allow ourselves to buy into, but we need to wake up! The challenge for women is that they must re-language what it means to be a wife and mother. Being a good wife and mother means that if you don't take care of yourself, in the long run you are ultimately harming all the other people you love in your life. You won't be the only one who takes the hit.
Make a list of budget/spending priorities for your self employment income
Dave Ramsey's book has a irregular income planning sheet. Basically you list your expenses with the cash flow sheet. With any steady income you allocate it. For irregular income, make a list from the cash flow sheet of what needs to be paid first. Keep a culmulative total.
