Dancing With the Stars. I wanted to see who else was staying, but they (SM)
kept fooling around and I would go from one channel to another watching something else, then back again. The commercials were over, and I dashed back into the room with the pan, sat down in my chair and without thinking laid the hot pan down beside me, realized what I had just done, but too late! They didn't even announce the next couple to stay then anyway! I watch the show from time to time, at least parts of it, but never got that into it, just wanted to know who would be eliminated last night. After the carpet deal I didn't care and still don't know!
Dancing Thick crust or thin
!
Voting is more fair on the dancing show. You have a

any Dancing with Stars fans finding this bunch -

lol, sort of like the dancing version of The Surreal Life show??

It's not the dancing part, it's the people part that I don't like. K? We clear now?

I tried to go to the web page for the dancing banana but it does not bring up the banana.

Are you sure you have the traditional insurance?
You won't believe the number of providers who try to balance-bill their contracted HMO patients.
Have you called your insurance company to see what you really are responsible for? If you have the old type of health insurance and the provider is a participating member, you may be responsible for 20% of the usual and customary (U&C) and not the entire billing charge.
How are you feeling? You sure don't need medical bills on your mind, all you should be thinking of is getting better. And, as the other poster stated, as long as you are making payments, you should be OK. Just don't let them talk you into a large monthly payment. Be honest with yourself and agree with what YOU can afford.
As for extra help, it depends on where you live. Are you the only person working in your household? You might not like the idea, but you might need assistance from your state.....this is nothing to be embarrassed about. It is your right as a US citizen. Go for it!
You have already gone through one nightmare, at this time you don't need a provider pressing you for more money then they already have received. Sure, they are due their money, but they are due their fair share. Hospitals and even some doctors overcharge so much! Why don't you request an itemized bill...then go over it with a fine tooth comb. You might just find some charges that were added to your bill by mistake.
Get well!
First traditional 4th in a long time
My son is 20 now so we haven't gone and watched fireworks or anything like that in a while. But a couple of months ago, one of my half-brothers got in touch with me (we had lost touch for about 5 years). Turns out he lives less than a hundred miles from me, he is now married and has three children (ages 7, 5 and 2). He has a house on 10 acres way out in the country. So we are going there for a good old-fashioned barbecue (just hot dogs and hamburgers, with guests bringing some of the trimmings - my recipe below). And since it's not within city limits, we get to pop firecrackers! Hooray!
I am taking fruit with dip. And before you start groaning about "healthy" dishes - let me tell you how I make the dip. Take two containers of smooth cream cheese with pineapple and mix it with an 8 oz container of Cool Whip. Chill, then let it set at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour to soften it before serving. Believe me, it is absolutely addicting!!
Interesting. My car doesn't have a traditional key.
It uses a "smart key". As long as I have it on me, or in my purse, the car unlocks when I touch the door handle. There's no ignition key. I just push a power button to start the car.
Katharine. I like very traditional, timeless names.
Katharine is one of my fave names, and I like it spelled with two "a's", as in Katharine Hepburn. I think Katie is a very cute nickname for a little girl, that can grow into Kate when she's a woman. Maybe because of the connection to Katharine Hepburn, I just imagine Katharine as being a very sophisticated name -- lots of class. I'm just not one for very cutesy, made up names.
My family's traditional Christmas mints
Again, really easy but time-consuming. The base is just two egg whites whipped up to stiff peaks and fold in about a pound of confectioner's sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla. Then divide it into however many flavors/colors you have in separate bowls. We use pink peppermint, yellow lemon, orange orange, green - either spearmint or wintergreen, brown rum. Add enough more powdered sugar to make them malleable and roll balls about 1" across, then flatten them with a fork. Put them on waxed paper - they stick on everything else. Get your kids busy stirring and rolling and it'll go quickly. I also use the same for frosting for Christmas cookies. Couldn't have a Christmas without them!
Vegas baby! But no theme, just semi-traditional nm

thanks for listening
I feel like I got a little support here - even though I guess I pirated this thread! That makes me feel a little better. It has occurred to me after reading the original post that my daughter's generation may not even be aware that we always did the traveling to the older person's house, or at least most of the time. I don't know what happened to change that.
You must have been listening to
Fox- same lineage but not raised by Kennedy. Dog adopted, returned by previous owner, the girls are second owner. Anything is possible but in this case not.
Thanks for your listening below (sm)
Husband and I have talked this through. We're going to find something else to rent until we can save up a decent amount to put down on another house. Someone below (I can't remember and too lazy to go look right at this second) made mention of not buying until financially ready. We are definitely not ready.
As a side, the landlord called and left a voice mail. Thank goodness or I would have laughed on the phone. He said his buddy who did the appraisal 2 or 3 years ago let him know the exact number of the appraisal and it was about $25,000 more than he stated the other day. I know this house, I know what needs fixed and there is no way in hades he's going to get what his buddy appraiser told him.
I'm going to put him off until we find a place to rent. We had a lease agreement years ago but have pretty much been going month to month in the past 3 years. The guy is a nice guy to deal with, but his head is in the clouds on this appraisal deal. He said he'd be willing to work with us but wasn't going to give it away.
Thanks for the ears below and voice of reason. I was hit with this and had a bad day or two of uncertainty.
listening to this mess-
I think doctors today are just different. I remember doctors that would actually stop and rewind to the spot that needed to be corrected instead of dictating it after the fact. I also recall the time when doctors did not say "umm, or keep you hanging waiting for the next word. I overheard two doctors discussing his mother's surgery and recovery. The attendings that are "supposed" to be training these up and coming doctors should include dictation techniques.
For the last two weeks I have been listening
to Christmas music in my car. Don't know why, but I was in the mood for some Manheim Steamroller, even if it is a little early in the year. I have to say that when I listen to the Hallelujah Chorus on this particular CD it makes everything that is wrong in my life seem so insignificant. I love this group's music. It just makes you happy.
Merry Christmas, a little early!
I just wanted to say thanks for listening again.

I guess not listening to your tax person
because I could take retirement now but if I do not able to make the $$$ I want. What I have found out, if I wait until full retirement age I can work and draw the social at full and my pay at full. I hope to make that- only 3 more years and then the moola will be sooo nice. If I retired now, social security comes and takes money away from me. I do not like that.
I really get irritated listening to the news
Ok, got another stoopid story. A newscaster arrested last year, driving on suspended license from previous DUI, was charged with DUI again plus had drugs in the vehicle so 3 charges. This newscaster has now been rehired by the same place that fired her last year. A woman today said- she thought this person was a role model for young girls. People - have you lost your fricking minds???
For us who spend our lives listening
we all sure have a lot to say! Love it.
Still listening to John Legend, Get Lifted (nm)

Listening to Neil Boortz this morning and he said
Whoopie in Atlanta 1 time, tried to wear jeans to have dinner at Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead, turned down at which point she was trying to say Atlanta not stylish, behind the times. He was saying probably hold-over from that and how some northerns immediately upon hearing a southern accent just assume you are ignorant and lots of others things, like maybe we make moonshine, do the barefoot thing, marry our cousins, on and on. What Vick owned up to just goes without saying 1 of the most disgusting things I have heard of in my life and most of us in the south who would not defend that regardless of their race, creed, ethnicity, etc.
Agree 100%, I enjoyed watching and listening

I was 18 and driving my Mustang on Main St. listening to the radio.

Not easy....
I have been there and it's not an easy decision to make. I did get a second opinion and that really helped me make my final decision. In my case it was possible cancer of the uterus. When I thought about being a single mom and how much I wanted to see my daughter grow up and after getting the second opinion I had the surgery. Although it was difficult to go through at the time it was really freeing. No more times of the month, no more Kotex supplies, etc. I have never regretted the decision since! Get a second opinion, it's worth the time and effort!
I think it would be easy, too, IF I had someone to do all the
chopping and measuring for me!!! LOL!!!
Does anyone have an easy way to keep a
dog's teeth clean if they resist brushing? I am concerned about her. I tried to brush them a few times and only was successful for part of the lower teeth. I know that if bacteria gets into the blood stream they can really become dangerously sick and even die from this. How about some items that can be bought at pet chain stores? We should have started her out early to get used to it. Any advice would be so appreciated.
easy way
First of all, there IS no easy way!!
My ex-SIL had gastric bypass right at about the time I started WW.
Just a little background: I was always thin until I started working at home. Then I blew up. Ex-SIL and BIL had not seen me until the weight gain, so it was somewhat of a shock.
Anyhow, we were in the process of embarking on our respective means of weight loss, and ex-BIL said to me, "At least you're doing it the hard way." I told him, without hesitation, that his wife was doing it the hard way. Dang!! She's the one getting cut open!!
I know it was his way of encouraging me because he's nice that way, but it bothers me that people think surgery and accepting the risks involved is easy in any way, shape, or form.
Man, I'm glad you can do the Tobasco. I don't think I would live without it LOL ;-)
Wish you the best!
very easy -
all I do when I cook salmon is add an egg and some flour and fry it up - don't add too much flour or it will be dry and taste flour, just enough so that it will stick together.
Here's an easy one
I find hor'dourves are always nice. Have them before and then if anyone stays after dinner you can pull them back out later or the next day for snacks.
Little smokie sausages, wrap each in 1/2 piece of bacon secured with a toothpick, and roll in brown sugar. Then bake in the oven until the bacon is done. They are really yummy and easy. line the cookie sheet with foil for easy cleanup cause the sugar can be messy.
My mom also used to take cream cheese and spread it on a platter, top with a layer of cocktail sauce, and then crab meat (real or imitation). Serve with crackers.
Rye bread is fantastic with dill dip. If you can find a round loaf of rye bread and hallow out the center and put the dip in the middle. Then the center part can be chopped up and placed around the outside for dipping. Later people can pull apart from the round "bowl" of bread to dip. Little to no clean up here.
My mom used to do hor'dourves instead of dinner and then just make a ham and rolls in case anyone didn't have dinner yet. I'll keep thinking. I'm sure I can remember a few more easy ones that everyone always seemed to love.
An easy gift would be
to just get her a gift card to the mall in your area at the service desk, and she could use it at any of the stores there in the mall.
If you want to get a gift, gift, do you know any of her interests?
I know this will not be easy to read but I believe
we are responsible for how others 'treat' us because we have allowed it.... not easy to accept - I know - because have been through this myself and it is hard to swallow but if you think about it - it does make sense. When others disrespect us, either by not treating us the same as we treat them or by doing other unacceptable things and we continue to allow them to do this w/o confronting - they will continue to do so and in order to stop you need to stop allowing it and stop accepting it - and realize you are worthy of more. It's a hard step to take and a long road to haul but it can be done. So sorry! Trust me - have been there myself and slip back every so often but it is worth it to change!
Very easy for me- I have an account
with 1 of the major shopping channels, have my television in my work room, sometimes watching a particular show and get the number, call up the site and order. It really does not take that long and I still get 2000-3000 or over a day, no sweat.
Just take it slow and easy
Don't rush into anything, and don't let him pressure you into moving faster than you are comfortable with. After all, if you do get together, hopefully you will have a lot of happy years ahead of you. There's no need to rush things in the beginning.
I have been married for a long time to the same man (never divorced) but if we had taken more time in the beginning, we probably never would have gotten married. Outside circumstances kind of put us in a "do or die" position.
We had a lot of unhappy years, especially in the beginning. So the one thing I always advise anyone who is contemplating marriage and/or a serious relationship is take your time.
And good luck!
How to make (sm) It is easy
I bought a throw blanket, about 5' x 4' or so, then bought same size blanket fabric (had to trim it some so they are both same size. You put them one on top of the other and make cuts in about 2" or so, and about 1 inch apart so that you have fringe on three sides, but leave the top alone. They you just start tying both blankets together. It is kind of trial and error depending on how thick your blanket material is so you need to tye one and see if you need to cut in deeper or not. That's it! You just tie knots in the fringe on the three sides and you are done. If I can find a pic of one I'll try to post it for you.
