I am 36 with two children, ages 12 and 7. I also suffer from severe PMS. It starts two weeks before the onset. I can go anywhere from "flipping out and angry" to feeling like I want to cry because a bug got squashed. I seriously think it is hormonal. I had a GYN tell me once to take Vitamin B6. I have not tried that. I personally had some other things go on (long story) and I now take Xanax p.r.n. I know you may not want to believe this, but it definitely helps. I think the hormones plus the anxiety (took a nervous breakdown) took a toll on me. I now take a low dose Xanax around the times when I am feeling symptoms of PMS and this really helps. I'm sure my situation is a little different than yours, but this does help me. I did have a counselor tell me that I could be premenopausal and that can cause anxiety as well. Sometimes I felt like I wanted to run away from it all and the next minute I would feel like I couldn't get enough love from my wonderful husband and children. No problems with my marriage and my children are great kids. I definitely think it is hormonal. Have you considered seeing a GYN that specializes in hormonal "problems" for lack of a better word? I am going to ask mine on my next visit. I know exactly what you are feeling and just wanted you to know that you are not alone. I hope you feel better real soon....
