You're SO wrong! Animals DO think and feel! - sm

A dog is a *pack* animal, and when it doesn't live in a wild pack like a wolf, and lives in the company of humans instead, it considers the humans it's pack. This includes the hierarchy, too. This is why many people have no control of their dogs - the dog has established itself as the *alpha* dog.
Dogs thrive on the company of their family. A *lone wolf* is an unhappy wolf, and a dog abandoned in a yard for weeks on end (or even in an apartment all day) is definitely an unhappy dog.

No it doesn't.... your post said *animals don't think or feel - sm
like humans*. Maybe they don't think about global warming or who should be the next president, but they do think, and they most definitely have feelings and emotions.
you're right, sorry. I like your posts, any that refer to love of animals
nm
you're welcome but you were NOT wrong...sm
I do believe they also threw panties at Englebert Humperdink....it was just that it began with Tom Jones of that music genre and I consider Tom and Englebert to be similar types of crooners....*S*
So you were NOT wrong I don't believe
I don't think you're doing anything wrong Lee (sm)
Sometimes people put a one-sentence reply in the subject line only and the rest of the message is automatically blank. If they can't fit the reply in just the subject line, sometimes they even use the space provided by the "name" line to finish the sentence.
I think the proper etiquette is to write (sm) for "see message" in the subject line if there's more to be read, or (nm) for "no message" to help speed things along for the reader so they don't waste their time clicking on something that isn't there.
A lot of folks don't identify themselves the same with every post because they want to stay anonymous, which is cool. I'm old school...I'm always "Hayseed" because whatcha see is whatcha get. I could use my regular name, Kathy, but there I'm sure there are a gazillion Kathy's and it's just easier to keep things straight that way.
Sorry, you're wrong!
And YOU haven't followed the whole chain of events. Do not judge lest you be judged.
Not sure you're looking at it the wrong way....
What the OP posted was not about depressing the women of today or making them feel worthless. It is an encouragement to take time for yourself and saying that's the healthy thing to do. It's saying not to feel guilty or worthless and that you SHOULD care for yourself. It's also saying that those feelings are perfectly normal, as most women do feel that way. It's a positive approach saying, yes others feel the way you do, but it's not healthy and you should try to change that thought process.
I will say that, though it's a double standard, I know some women who take all the time they need for themselves, and basically people think they're unbelievably selfish. I
Not saying you're wrong but sm
Never put anything in writing or read it first and erase it before you send it. I was in a similar situation with a family member demanding we send monthly money to someone and I wrote back in anger years ago. This has been used as a weapon over my head for 20 plus years. I wish to God I hadn't written that letter. But I can see where you would. I just learned not to do this either by snail mail or E-mail (or even a note left around the house). They could print it out and bang you over the head with it and you don't deserve that. I know how angry you were and should be, but I hope you learned a lesson. I know I did, I am a good person and I made myself look bad by responding that way. They say, "respond but don't react" and it's very difficult when you deal with dysfunctional people. I only made myself look bad and them look like the poor innocent victims. I never apoligized though as they had no right to ask for such a thing in the first place. Feel better! Apologizing via e-mail would only give them more ammunition. Let is go and learn from it. I did.Families - better off without them!
If you're saying it's wrong to conclude
that this has to be caused by psychosis or at least a terrible drug reaction, I don't agree. The scary thing is that I suppose such a thing could happen to any of us. But I would not believe somebody could get all the way through all the training to be an astronaut and be able to fly missions and then have this big of an "error in judgement." It is much more than an error in judgement.
You kidding me?! You're not wrong at all!
Someone should sit by the tree and hand out one present at a time...an older sibling or adult. They should read the gifts tag on it for the child (you know, who it's to and who it's from) and hand it to the child to be opened and subsequent reaction captured in memory or on film, thanking the gift giver verbally or hugs (the best thank you, in my opinion!), and then proceeding to the next gift. It should be a family event, well, at least that's my opinion of it, not pillage and plunder.
On-looking family can be kept busy with munchies and beverages. Man, I would be such a Nazi of a parent, I swear!
You're very wrong. The Bible is very much up for
I had a baptist pastor tell me that I should not marry out of my race and that it's in the Bible... So what do you say to that?
Believe what you want and interpret it how you want, but then don't say that others are sinners when you are not GOD!
you're dead wrong - in the words of Emma Lazarus
Give us your tired, your poor
Your hungry masses yearning to be free
- Emma Lazarus
Perhaps you and all your ancestors would have liked to be put *back on the boat* - you *sound* intolerant and the only thing I'm intolerant of is INTOLERANCE.
You're a woman!! Our job is to feel
Isn't that what women do? Feel guilty for everything. Welcome to wifehood, motherhood and womanhood. Isn't this normal for women?? My husband is watching TV right now and I've been up working around the house, because if I sat in front of the TV all evening, I would feel guilty!! HA!
I agree about minimal dairy, but nothing wrong with grains IMO (unless you're a raw foods faddist
or have some sort of special dietary needs. Seeds and nuts are great, but keep in mind that they tend to be high in fat so shouldn't be used *too* heavily.
Don't want you to feel bad!! You're our funniest "co-worker" LOL (sm)
How long have you been transcribing? I seem to know a lot of transcriptionists, including myself, who have had these types of symptoms. Doctor told me the same thing once - wonder if it is from lack of movement or constant computer exposure?
Cuz you're numbing your brain so you feel no pain! Flavored brandy

You ead my response wrong, terribly wrong
I am trying to ask what does she think it will help, not being nasty- tell me and I will try this. I would stand on my head and gargle peanut butter if I thought it would help - I wanted to know why a letter? They are thumbing their noses at the courts - commanded to appear- I was there and they werent.
You're not 'low-class', you're FUNNY, & a good writer!
Which is often the case then someone is the first to cast stones!
Just a tip about animals
As I am getting cleaned up from Christmas and heading towards the New Year, thought I would pass on something that I do and if you don't know about it and can do the same, here tis: I get the newspapers each day (along with lots of subscriptions to different magazines), save them up and when I get a big bunch I take them to my local animal shelter. They cut them up and use for bedding for the animals. Pass it on.....
Well at least they like animals...
I'd take them for neighbors over someone who *shoots at* animals, any day!
Animals
Dogs and cats are good! That will be a fun job and animals are so loving and grateful for anything we do. Good choice too since you get free vet care you can get another dog! Or two. You can never have enough dogs. I only have three. I need a bigger house so I can have more dogs! They are our "babies" and are spoiled. I would hate to transcribe without my dogs who sit next to me and "wait" - what have I ever done to deserve this? I just accept it and feel loved.
animals
If she could have someone else feed them honestly it would save her a bunch. The minimum I have seen places charge and I have moved around alot was 16 a night per animal. Sometimes if you can put 2 in the same cage they give you a small discount on one animal per cage.
what we will do for our animals. .
One year my cat just kept jumping up into the middle of the tree. . we came home from work several times with the tree in the floor. . we eventually anchored the tree to the floor AND ceiling. . . as he got older he got calmer. . I'm sad to say last Christmas was his last - he died in January at age 17. . . He was a good friend. .
Yup, just like animals, neither can they. LOL

animals
I would do the samething, have two dogs that I love dearly which one is blind and has lived in the same house since she was a puppy, and still runs into the walls and things. It is so sad to see, so I would never do anything to make it any harder on her. Bless you for being so caring.
raw animals
The wild animal the dog kills wasn't raised on a factory farm under conditions favorable for salmonella epidemics, and wasn't force-fed antibiotics to cover the many diseases hens get when they live in such tight quarters.
Then again, the raw chicken is actual chicken, rather than "animal digest" or the other euphemisms the pet food industry uses to cover the miserable quality of their food (even the premium brands are just awful).
And just look at how animals
almost always hook up with another animal friend ... even natural enemies.
I guess if you are very social, you can get enough from other people and activities. I get drained too easily and so would rather have my mate than be alone.
how do you know that? Unfortunately animals
cannot tell us how they feel, not before and not after.
You're surprised? I'm not. They're not going to stop voting....
as was mentioned in a prior post. Imagine if they succeed? They just may.
At least you wait until they're cooked! LOL...we're raw dough

Sounds like you're doing great! We're also making out...sm
daughter pay for gas and insurance when she starts driving. She hasn't started driving yet because she doesn't want to get a job to pay for that privilege. That's her choice. We're also making her pay 1/2 of the fees for the state required driver's education course.
Poor animals!
A ''crate'' is just a nice term for a cage. How sad to cage a dog or cat.
You can only try. That is what we did with my son. His stuffed animals SM
were his worst nightmare allergy-wise.
I've had dogs with dry skin, but never were they were that miserable. I wonder if they make a doggie lotion that could help or if there is some type of herbal remedy like who knows what but some type of oil safe for doggie skin.
I have two black labs now and one puppy Yorkie. My older black labs gets some dry skin on his belly, but nothing too bad.
Don't give up. You'll find it!
All animals, pets or not are most definitely
.
Thanks for that one. Animals rule!

What is it with old stinky animals!
My old dog and old horse really do "smell like old people." They have a funk of their own when compared to the younger animals of same species, even though they are all completely healthy. I think it's just what happens, the why's and how's though, I am completely clueless about. I really have an especially soft spot for the ol' senior critters though.
Animals in heaven? NM

social animals
Rodents, rats especially, are very very social animals and are intelligent and desire human contact. I've had 6 diff rats, all are passed away now cause they only last a few years, but they are very playful and will play with you and like to be held, petted and carried around. The more you do that the more friendly they get!
Have fun!
wild animals
My fiance used to live in a subdivision in our small town. . every night, possums and racoons came up on his back deck and looked through the sliding glass door at us while we were watching TV in the living room. . We enjoyed seeing them and sometimes we would put food out for them. .
I have to share this also because I think it is a once in a lifetime thing - yesterday we were walking on my fiance's farm and saw a deer giving birth. . we got to within about 35 yards of it. . We only watched for about 10 minutes because we could tell we were making it very nervous. . I hope they both do okay. .
for my animals -- YES absolutely!
i don't think its a bit crazy to CARE for your animals, and take care of them. Bless your heart!
fostering animals
Does anyone foster animals? I've been thinking of fostering a dog or cat and wonder what exactly is involved.
There are those that believe animals have souls-
I doubt they would find it ridiculous, though I do agree that this whole thread is ridiculous. The OP wanted to start a fire and she got it.
Animals very much desirable,
in your own homes, not running loose in the neighborhood. I have inside pets, they live longer inside anyway.
Like I said, I love most animals and have more than...
my fair share of them including a horse that is losing her teeth and anyone else would put down because it is very expensive to keep her around and very cheap to replace her at this point, but I just can't do it, as she is very healthy. I am just not such a cat person and I really hope that my husband does not bring on home, but if he did, I would expect it to stay outside. Terrible, I know, but that is just the way I am.
Antidepressants help some animals, too.
I do appreciate life and have respect for animals.
I just don't think they should be shoved in my face.
I agree - there are many children in stores who should be taken outside to be handled. However, people are NOT animals.
Unfortunately, most doglovers cannot appreciate this difference.
So even animals help decide our fate???
Where did you read this or learn about this? I've never heard that animals will speak for or against us on judgement day...interesting. Guess I'm in the clear, I don't do animals, don't own them, don't abuse them, don't like 'em!
You don’t have to love animals, that is not the point
although I find them much more rewarding that most people I know, you have to be really sick to hurt one.
I like how you called your animals *somebody*...that is cute
If *somebody* gets sick on the weekend....
Animals ARE people too!
You sound like a good mother :)
They think like pack animals, not humans. They are
asdf
With the brood of 10 animals here's the list:
DOGS: Shaina, Tiger & Taffy
CATS: Pearl, Hollow, Ember, Ribbon & Samson
RABBIT: Bonnie
BETA FISH: Jacqueline
Vet's name for all of them: Money (just kidding - just seeing if you're paying attention).
Probably Doesn't have animals or a clue
You'd think somebody that doesn't have them would at least know they do have nerve endings and can feel pain and suffering. I cannot get over the selfishness of this person. Makes me ashamed to be a member of the human race, and hopefully a day will come someone who does something this unconscionable will be able to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident. The courts are moving closer and closer to protecting animals in situations like this.
And to whoever said not to call the humane society, for God's sake, WHY? Why NOT call somebody who would help?
