I think it's really important for pet owners to be aware there aren't a lot of safe brands out there right now.

As for me, if we are *white* in discussion, I use *black* and seems to me my black friends prefer that. I did read once that Whoopi Goldberg does not like the term African American and she stated at that time that none of her relatives came from Africa. I read on I believe the MSN site or somewhere yesterday that a vaccine will be available by about September but nothing sooner, which is why I find it interesting they're now saying it could fizzle out and re-emerge in fall (presumably after the vaccine is ready).
Anyone remember the big flu scare about 3 years ago, where the pharmaceutical companies swore there was a shortage of the vaccine and it would be deadly to old people and compromised children, etc.? Everyone running out and getting their innoculation before it was no longer available, creating a mass panic, then a month or two later, the news was showing TONS of leftover vaccines sitting on the shelves.
Nah, I don't trust this hysteria about the swine flu at all. I look on it more as yet another way for the media to play on our fears for ratings, and the big-money corporations that run the pharmacies to cash in on that fear.

I just appreciate nice quality items. I do not have a closet FULL of these items, but I do own them. I also have items by Chanel, Armani, Dior, and Louis Vuitton.
I'm neither rich nor snooty. I prefer to buy fewer items that are of quality, rather than waste my hard-earned money on items of inferior quality that won't hold up for even the season they were intended for without looking like they were fished from the Goodwill depository.
Many times you do indeed get what you pay for.
I look on it the same way I look on MT work - Quality trumps Quantity.

At my MTSO, we are penalized if we do NOT include "includes." It has to be typed in Medications and Allergies, PMH, ROS, etc. No one has ever said specifically why, but I would think it's because the word "include" or "includes" covers the you-know-what of the dictator, who is implying that he/she may not have complete information from the patient or whoever gave them the history.
You would not need it in Diagnoses, because the physician/dictator has to take complete responsibility for that section - only one who can diagnose is the MD.

Nutro was recalled during the huge 2007 pet food recalls. This is a new 2009 recall involving the premix formulation in some of their dry cat food. I use Wellness, Nature's Variety, and Newman's Own canned cat foods.

Recalled chicken strips (dogs) from Walmart
We had a bag of these chicken strips from Walmart, and CJ has been sick. Since Walmart has been keeping the recall quiet, neither we nor our vet knew what the problem was! I can only hope he lives!
His symptoms have been respiratory distress and vomiting. I'm really not too happy with Walmart right now. I mean, they were chicken strips!

Note that AquaDots has been recalled. I went into a KB Toys and found one on
they couldn't be stocked and pulled them from the back. I turned it in to the manager and asked him hadn't those been recalled and his eyes about popped out of his head and said that they had and thanks for catching it.

i've been letting my hair grow out for almost a year and a half. i've always worn my hair very very short, easy to take care of. but with the help of my hubby giving me encouragement, i have hair that just touches my shoulders now. i have naturally wavy/curly hair, thick. i have layers in mine and after i get out of the shower, i put some mousse in it and let it air dry. if i dry my hair with a dryer, i turn into a big frizz ball. i bought a hair magazine with pictures in it and there are some really good articles in there for the different hair types. they recommend you don't wash your hair every single day, because that can dry out your hair. good luck!

I'm disappointed that her abuser didn't receive more punishment. I live in So. Calif, and I thought we had stronger anti-cruelty laws. (I find myself wondering why his crime was only considered a misdemeanor!) But at least it was taken seriously and he is being punished. There was a time when nothing would have happened to him.
I read on one site that there s/b a site for animal abusers like there is for pedophiles. Sounds good to me. I'd sure want to know if some sicko like this was in my neighborhood. I did find a site where you can find some info. like this in your local area:

I think when you hit the link you are
allowing somebody else access to your computer, although I am not exactly sure. Maybe some kind of spyware? I don't know, but years ago when I had AOL, just by going to one web site I got a Trojan Horse virus and it ruined my computer. I had to start from scratch, re-load all the programs, and it worked, but had constant problems after that. Do you have one of those programs that can detect Spyware on your computer? You might want to do that, I think you can find some for free by doing a search.

The snow started coming down Sunday, it's oh, Wednesday, and we still haven't plowed out our driveway. Two neighbors have actually called to make sure we're okay--isn't that just the sweetest thing?! They can't fathom that no one would need to leave the house. We don't even go out much in good weather but it's really easy to tell when no one leaves the house when there's snow on the ground....especially a foot and a half of it!
Gotta do something about it soon though. I'm sure the mailbox is gettin' all filled up with bills and whatnot, but I'm kinda diggin' it being outta sight and outta mind.
