We just sold a house in Punta Gorda. The yearly insurance went from $1200 prior to Charley to almost $4000 a year after, for the same insurance - no increase in protection. The same price house as you are talking about. Also, are you buying with hurricane shutters installed? I think you get a break for those as well, but someone else may know more about that.
