I think you make some good points.
Have you ever listened to a voice mail message (or read an email) and felt it was quite negative ... only to re-listen/read it another day and get a much different feel from it. How you are feeling can make a huge differnce.
I, too, think others cannot understand if they have not been in a particular situation. Just listen to people who have not yet had children will say about things parents do. It is usually much different once they have children of their own.
For the record, I enjoy seeing laundry hanging out, and I think it is sort of a shame that many communities have gotten so Stepford like.
