all of this. Thank you for your support. You are exactly right. She doesn't want to "make nice" with me. She is feeding on my vulnerabilities. I can't believe she can live with herself like that. Poor thing. My husband and I got into the biggest fight yesterday because I refused dto go to his mothers house. I went and she was not there! Thank God! It worked out well and I had a very nice time. My husband does not understand my pain and not wanting to be around her.....
I "feed" on positivity and niceness. I love nice, sweet people and can't, for a second, be around meanness. A lot of it has to do with my upbringing...
Ya'll are great and I appreciate you so much. Thanks!

I think you'll have a hard time finding someone who will (sm)
come for one hour every day. As wonderful as that would be!! I think they could do that in an hour. But finding someone will be tough. Most housekeepers around here make $75 to clean a house and that takes them 2 or 3 hours. They make more than we do sometimes!!
I was kind of thinking
that too, but don't know how to make it!
She looks so sweet and happy. What kind of dog? nm

Anonamiss, you are a sweet person too
and you're right that the dogs are having a better life with someone who truly cares about their wellbeing. I'm also a sucker for animals and it's been my downfall because people will take advantage of your compassionate nature. I had a neighbor drop 2 elderly ponies off in my pasture under the pretense of needing a place for them to stay for a week until she sold them. I fed and cared for them for half a year before my husband called her and demanded she come pick them up. They went to a really good home at a therapeutic riding stable that same day, thankfully, but it turned out she was trying to get money for them all that time and HER husband didn't want them to be given away for free. UGH. I would have kept them myself if it came down to a choice between that and letting them go back to her.
Blondie, men don't think the way women do. Women are caretakers by nature. I think your husband and his friend are inconsiderate and immature, but my husband is like that too.
So glad to know the dogs don't hurt the rabbits!
That is so sweet! She sounds like a really nice person! (nm)

I'll be thinking of you
I hope you start to feel better soon and that the CT scan will be able to figure out what's wrong so you can get treatment. What is wrong with men! Is he one of the men that when their sick life has to stop so you can take care of him and every little ache and pain means death?
Yes I am THAT kind of person.
I had to give up the kids because the dogs were allergic.
You are truly a kind person.

She lives on his property so kind of hard - sm
to call the police on him or order him off his own property, he has every legal right to be there, except for being a total nut case. I hope he wakes up and gets help, but I do not see any of this ending well.
What kind of dog do you have? It's hard to beat natural instinct.
My cat keeps killing birds and laying them on my front porch as little gifts for me. I'm so thrilled at 6 a.m. when I get up and walk out on the front porch for my morning coffee and find a dead bird! But thankfully my cat goes after small prey. My neighbors cat brought home a big fat rat the other morning! YUK!!! I don't know where he got it and I don't want know!
Good luck!
You sound like a very caring and kind person
I'm definitely not going to flame you, but I'm wondering if you actually put stuff *inside* the mailbox because that is against the law. I would appreciate the thought, but I really wouldn't like someone going in my mailbox besides my mail carrier.
My neighbors across the street have the most beautiful lights. I just moved here from the sticks and it was SO cool to be able to look outside my window every night and look at their array. I don't see them because our schedules are different, so I thought about mailing them a thank you card. But it really would not be appropriate to just pop it in the box.
Anyhow, please don't take offense, but maybe some of the looks you are getting is the mailbox thing. I'm not assuming or anything, just wanted to give you a heads up.
I sincerely hope you feel better :-)

We had a very hard time with my SIL
married to my younger brother. She was a total gold digger. Sucked up to our family until they were married and then nothing. She would walk into my parent's house and if she saw something new like a stero, she would say we will take the old one, etc. She is now gone. We really like his new wife. Defintely loves my baby bro. My other brother is divorced. My ex-SIL and her new boyfriend travel with our family all the time. My brother works for my hubby but has basically dropped out of out lives.
I'm sorry, but I have a hard time
She made a conscious choice to do drugs, drink, have baby after baby...that's not mental illness. She (like the other poster stated) puts herself in the path of the photogs...going out 5, 6, 7 times for fast food...come on now. Flashing her no-underwear-wearing behind...yeah, she's mental alright...just not mentally disabled. She needs to grow up, live up to her responsibilities, and take care of her kids, plain and simple. And her mom needs a good a$$ kicking, IMHO of course.
I am with ya. Having a hard time doing t his anymore.
I could not put a word to it but "fruity" describes it perfectly. My brain is just fried after 26 years. I cannot see myself doing this until I am 65, 14 more years. Holy Cow. No way. Gotta look into something else. Have to wake up my brain. Good luck with the billing job.
you are very kind; thanks for your time.

not so much a cat person but... these little ones get me every time!!!
adorable!
I was thinking this very same thing. Definitely not worth giving the time of day to. nm

I'm having a hard time understanding having a baby for selfish reasons...
My older sister feels the same way and doesn't want kids.
As I pointed out above, I'm being selfish by wanting my alone time and doing my own thing and not having to care for someone else.
but watching my little sister be a mother, it is one of the most SELFLESS acts I've ever seen.
So I guess I'm confused at how come you point out that it is selfish... just because you love babies doesn't make you selfish to have them. and of course it's "necessary" or we as a human race would be over ;)
I just feel like being a mother is the toughest job in the world... so I don't know how to combine selfish with that. I do see your point in a way that we want something to love, but I just look at it as being a family... I want a family. I know there are people who are content on their own... but I guess your point would be "WHY" do i want that family? I can't answer that in specific terms.
I guess it's to share the love that me and him have with a child or children some day... to expand our happiness. well i guess that is selfish. ha.
I'm glad you are such a good mom. I don't know what I'd do without mine.
I'm having a hard time too - Charlie Brown's Christmas music has helped some (sm)
It hasn't been very cold around here...parade yesterday we were sweating. One thing that has helped me is I got the music CD from Charlie Brown's Christmas and have been listening to that and watched the little cartoon. That has always been one of my favorites. But I'm just not feeling it much either this year! I think the fact that the stores put the Christmas stuff out right after Halloween and sometimes before just makes it all seem like another day! And for me these days it just seems like a time of year where I have to spend money. Anyway, you're not alone :-)
Bwahahahaha! I'll have to look next time just to keep from
s
Do you think you'll move at least 1 more time or
s
I'll have to stop in and say Hi next time
we go up there. LOL. Yes, lots to do too. What part of the NJ shore?
I also love the ocean but do not get to go there much. Just too much traffic for me to handle. I like Point Pleasant. That is about 1-1/2 to 2 hour drive, depending on that darn traffic on the lovely Garden State Parkway. Love Cape May too but way too far.
Does anyone know if we'll be changing time?? sm
I thought it would've been this past weekend. Every Halloween it's dark by about 5 pm. I haven't heard or seen anything about time change.
Aah, she'll get over it the first time she needs a babysitter. ;)
Seriously, I wouldn't worry to much what she thinks or says. She is a teenage girl and God knows they are pretty much all little snots! Factor in that she is pregnant with those hormones swimming around, and geez I can only imagine how horrifying she truly is.
I am not a teacher but I call kids that kind of stuff all the time (sm)
I call my kids little names, their friends whatever name pops into my mind at the time, my Brownie girl scouts names. Sweetie, honey, sweetie-sweet, squirrel, pumpkin-lumpkin, sweet potato, little sweeties, etc. To me it just signals that I am the adult and they are the kids and I like them, they are important to me. I think it makes them feel at home and comfortable. My children used to think kids were called "little sweeties" when they were younger. My daughter or son would say, "is that her little sweetie?" meaning is that her little boy or little girl. My son had a horrible 2nd grade teacher who yelled at the kids all day. My daughter had a wonderful second grade teacher who hugged them and called them endearing names. Why is it wrong to treat a child like a child? They are sweet and innocent and we are adults, parents and parent-like figures to them. I don't get it.
Use in smoothies and to flavor whip cream. Switch out the sweet flavors in cookies all the time. nm

I guess by the time anyone reads this, they'll be up! Silly question! nm

Adorable! Sweet, sweet, sweet!. thanks.nm.

The drinkin kind or the rubbin kind?? sm
So....is that for me to drink so I don't notice or care that my hands are all splotchy black or to get the ink off? Seriously though, do I use the rubbing alcohol - or like Jack Daniels?? and do I soak in it or what? I never heard of using alcohol but I'll try anything.
Are you a night person or a morning person?
Just curious . . .
What a sweet, sweet face!
I have tears in my eyes. I will see what I can do about getting him a hat from PA. Do you know do they just want ball caps or would a beanie be okay, too?
Sweet or not sweet cornbread?
x
thanks! :) I'll see if he'll ask some female friends SM
Thank you everyone! It has been great reading all of your responses! Goodnight!! "See" you all tomorrow!
Hugs,
Chickadee
I feel that is best too. I have been kind, very kind, to this ...sm
child since he moved here in March. I also am not one of those parent's that thinks my children are perfect. You never know what they might do out of your presence. I do know how I have raised them though and I am all for getting them all together when there is a problem and getting to the bottom of it but anymore that doesn't seem to work. The parents automatically get defensive and start making excuses, etc. I'm going to look for somewhere else to move. I've lived here for 2-1/2 years and we never had a problem until this boy moved in. His mother is a piece of work.
It probably varies from person to person (sm)
With me, first child I was out of the bed seriously within 5 minutes of having him. I didn't tear or have to be cut, he was 7 pounds, 3 ounces. The doctor did some type of vaginal massage on me though while I was in labor and that was supposed to help loosen the vaginal wall?
Second child, same experience. She was 8 pounds, 1 ounce and within 5 minutes of having her, while they took her to the nursery to get cleaned up and all, I walked downstairs with my husband to the cafeteria to get a drink and stretch my legs. I had already put my regular clothes back on as well. My doctor who delivered her was walking in my room as I was walking in and he was stunned a second and said he thought I was a visitor, LOL, not the patient.
I don't think you have to have bed rest in normal cases. With my son I went home within 24 hours with him and with my daughter we went home in only 20 hours.
No! That sounds too desperate. TIME. Just give it TIME. If it is real, then sm
something will definitely evolve. If you like him, flirt back! Don't act desperate because if he DOES like you, then the suspense will just make him want to get to know you more. Trust me on this.
I worked in the medical records department of a hospital when I was single and dated a few co-workers in my early 30s. It was fun. Nothing serious came about any of the relationships.
This sounds like fun - the beginning of maybe something to come....Keep us informed.
Totally agree, get these from time to time since teens...sm
It's a neuro condition, it does not mean there is anything at all wrong with you, it is actually related to narcolepsy, hypnagogic (sp? I just got up!) hallucinations, etc. And I HATE when I get these, it is always freaky, my siblings get this too, at times. I can "go away" for years and years before you get another episodes, so don't worry! I heard that when you are under a lot of stress or are very busy with things that this happens more??? Take care!!
It's time to stop when you or the kid(s) feel it is time, and no sooner. sm
My grandmother (who passed away at the young age of 107 back in the mid 1990s) was STILL celebrating every little holiday for all of her many kids and grandkids, and she would STILL give me a chocolate bunny every Easter, as she had since I was a toddler and even though I was 40ish at the time (and I still delighted in biting its head off in front of her, as I had also done since I was a toddler, which always met with mock disapproval from her).
Don't let anyone dampen your joy in celebrating your traditions.
These are all so sweet....
This is the sweetest posts I have read here for a while. I have two. First, the love of Jesus in my life. There is no other comparison to his love. Thank you Jesus! Second, the way my DH searches me out in a crowded room. That makes me feel pretty special! Enjoyed these sweet posts!!
This is actually a sweet one-
My twin sister and I were adopted and from as early as I can remember we were told that we were special cause mommy and daddy got to choose us. For years I envisioned this baby store where parents would cruise up and down the aisles until they found the ones they wanted. And I always did feel special because of it.
Aw, how sweet.
On Father's day I called the house and mom answered, but I had a question about a gift I was getting Dad, so thankfully I thought to ask if Dad was right there too (couldn't tell if we were on speaker). Turned out he had also picked up, which surprised me so much that instead of wishing him a happy FD, I told him he needed to get off the phone! How wude!
I did see him later in the day and apologized, LOL.
How sweet.
My child is the light of my life and love reading things like this. Be sure to write that down so you and she don't forget it as they grow up so quickly. You made my day==thanks!
sweet 16
My daughter is not studious but more of the artsy, eccentric type, but she did not want the big sweet 16 bash. Instead, she had a formal tea party at our house with 7 of her friends. They all wore fancy dresses, high heels. She filled the room with flowers, made little sandwiches, tea obviously, fancy desserts, tablecloths, doilies, etc. It was so over the top, it was funny rather than weird and geeky, and they had a blast! Later, just she and I went to NYC together and saw some plays, went shopping, did museums.
But this is a kid who shops at thrift stores and vintage shops and would not be caught dead in anything bought at a mall. So whatever is "in" is "out" for her.
Sweet 16
How about tickets to a concert by her favorite performer/group for both of them, rented limo to take them to a fancy dinner first? Or, does she know her friend's family well? If so, how about a dual party? Just thinking out loud. It's a special day for her, one she ought to remember always. My parents didn't have a lot of money, and my sweet 16 (a gazillion years ago) was just a house get-together with about 6 people, but it was fun because that special day was acknowledged. I had a cousin whose sweet 16 was held in a nightclub. Trini Lopez was performing there, and I saw Connie Stevens sitting at the next table!
Wow! How sweet to ask! sm
I didn't want to post "little change in condition" but thank you for asking so I will post an update. It is getting worse but not progressing as quickly as I thought it would back on Saturday. I'm having to hand feed her and am trying to find goodies that will tempt her to eat. I had some liquid pain medicine from before and so she was taking that in tuna water (which she used to love) but now won't even drink that so I can't get any pain medication in her. She didn't sleep well last night. She keeps looking at me and meowing and I wish I could speak cat. The time is close I think. I'll let you know when.
sweet
Good to hear you smiling again Hayseed......Cedric is so cute Misha...He and Sasha are gonna keep you busy!
How Sweet!
Wish my baby was still sweet. She's a black lab now 1-1/2 years old and sure knows how to rule hubby. She gives him heck every time he won't do what she wants.
I can't sit on the couch when he's working or she jumps right up on me and lays upside down on my lap. She's no lightweight, either. She weighs 80 pounds.
They want to be near YOU! Sweet! nm
