Y'all must not watch Funniest Home Videos as often as I do

In Reply to: pinata party? .............nm - kids love pinatas, banging 'em down....
... if you think hanging a pinata, blindfolding a child and handing him a stick is a good party idea, LOL.
Swing away!

I walk to her videos too!
I have this one where they sing this "power walk" mantra in the background when it starts out. Then I have that song in my head the whole day! I think I'll just plug in my little MP3 player instead and find tunes that match the different paces, because although I enjoy the video immensely, that "music" has just gotta go! Oh, if you walk to her videos where she uses something called a "stretchy band," I found a 3-pack in varying resistance strengths at Walmart for $5.00. Total deal.
I am watching the Bob Beck videos
on YouTube and they are really fascinating. Thanks for passing this along.
ESL docs have got to be the funniest!
I have one who always says "patient lives alone at home by himself." Another one seems beyond being able to use correct medical terminology for bodily functions. All his patients "poop" and "pee." The kids also have "snotty noses."
Neato downloadable surgical videos.
For a good time, just Google "download surgical video" and watch the magic happen.
A great site with oodles of procedures for your viewing pleasure: http://www.laparoscopyhospital.com/DOWNLOADS.HTM
What's totally awesome about that link is that it's out of New Delhi, and great for really getting an ear for ESL surgical notes!
Enjoy, and I'm warnin' ya right now, it will totally suck up your time!
Geez.. these aren't videos. You don't know so why comment?
These are images of real women and children, in Africa and in our country, some living in extreme poverty, some dying of AIDS and malaria. It's not just a video.
Funniest thing this week
Transcribing a report on an adult and in the past medical history doc states"the patient had SIDS as a child". Thought perhaps this doc was a ghost whisperer!
HA! - funniest thing I heard all day! Thanx
ha!
I just found the FUNNIEST website! -(sm)-
It's called "Awkwardfamilyphotos.com". Check out the Mullet-family and the Pooh-family.... I still can't hardly type, I'm laughing so hard!
How about Leslie Sansone's walking off the weight videos? nm
nm
I searched him and found some more videos on him on youtube. He is incredible! sm
His name is Nick Vujicic. I am going to read as much about him as I can find. I need all the inspiration I can get right now :)
What was the funniest thing you typed over the last few days?
I had a doctor on Friday night who gave a whole list of his plans for his elderly patient and then at the end said, Rib fractures will be repeated. Owie!!!
OMG - that's the funniest thing I've ever read!
What would y'all do??.....sm
I just found out this morning that my husband of 9 years has been seeing another woman. He says that they never had sex; that they just met and talked, hugged, and kissed a few times. He said he has been feeling lonely and I told him he should have turned to me not some other woman. I was completely floored. I knew we had some problems but didn't expect anything like this to happen and never expected him to do anything like this.
Any advice. Has marriage counseling ever helped any of you? Thanks.
Wow, y'all are mean.
Umbelievable that grown women will talk about a 17-year-old (or anyone for that matter) like that.
Don't want you to feel bad!! You're our funniest "co-worker" LOL (sm)
How long have you been transcribing? I seem to know a lot of transcriptionists, including myself, who have had these types of symptoms. Doctor told me the same thing once - wonder if it is from lack of movement or constant computer exposure?
how can y'all tell anything from an 18 second video? nm
nm
Two things for y'all to consider...
First, in the past year I guess I've had 2 cousins die suddenly from MIs at fairly young (40s) age. On both occasions, the families have elected to "cremate now, memorial later", only the memorial has not come as of yet for the 1st cousin. The 2nd cousin just died last night, but his family says they will do the same thing. To me, this is so disrespectful to the deceased, like they didn't matter, can't even take the time to have a small memorial in their honor...is it just me?
Secondly (and this is weird, I know) , but would you ever consider answering an ad on another website that sells things for a "date"...I don't mean like a going-out-to-dinner-and-a-movie-date, but like a ~~~date~~~ (get where I'm coming from???) I'll admit, my curosity got the best of me (I posted a purse for sale on the other website) and I was "browsing around" some of the stranger ads...WOW---I was so shocked at what people are allowed and WILLING to put online...it scared me! Is it just me? Thanks, y'all!
Did y'all see Reba on
She is AWESOME. Looks like she has a blast performing...I hate that her sitcom was cancelled or whatever happened to it. It was a great show, one of my favorites...
Seriously, y'all need to find something
better to do with your time. You do not know these people and should know by now that the press isn't exactly full of integrity when it comes to reporting.
I think Scientology is crazy but it is there right to believe the way they want to believe and to suggest that they didn't take care of their son is just assinine. You have nothing substantial to base that on.
If the autopsy proves otherwise, then so be it, but how can you codone writing the filth above without knowing ANYTHING about it?
Is it so hard to understand why they didn't want to parade their son and his diagnosis (whatever it may be) all over America? I think this whole situation just proves they were right in keeping it private!
Sorry, I've just had enough of the tabloid talk in this country. It's gotten way out of control.
I'm off my soapbox now and y'all can flame away!
Y'all are so sweet! sm
I have no idea why this doesn't show up on the Main Board and the Gab Board, so I'm posting it both places I need all the help I can get!
The pink liquid is Clavamox/Amoxicillin. They give it to dry, and when you get home you add water to it to mix it up. It has a short shelf-life. It also comes in pills.
I only had one UTI in my life, which was the pits. I do know about Azo (I think that's what they call it). I can't remember if it's similar to/same as the cranberry juice/pills. While I know many women swear by these products, the cranberry thing was also mentioned in my research for cats.
My vet is excellent, but he's very expensive (and oh, such a looker)! It's nice to be on his "A-list. Anyway, Lindsay totally freaks out when I try to use the syringe on her. She's a total piece of work, but so sweet. At the moment, she appears to be acting better, but that's not good enough for me. Y'all obviously know all about that. Of course, add the the QrazyQ "wages," as they call them, and it makes it even more stressful. But having spent thousands in the good ole' days on my cardiomyopathy cat and even taking my "own" radiologist bud with me for her cardiac echo, $ was no issue. I also used L-carnitine, Lasix, propranolol, and other stuff. She lived at least 3 years longer from my protocol.
my vet told me last time that moist food is better, but I quit giving it to them a long time ago (3 cats chasing bowls, etc.). I also read where dry food with sugar, etc. is also a no-no.
Actually, I found some Clavamox pills, but they're expired. I think I'll try to give one to her, anyway. It's 6 of one, half of the other, ya know.
Thanks for the kind words and suggestions. I'll keep checking back here. It really means a lot!
WalMart sell homosexual books & videos. I won't shop at any store
and it's not because I'm judgemental of anyone. God will judge in the end. But, I have a right to shop at stores that do not sell such items. And, for the poster who said homosexuals buy condoms...heterosexuals buy condoms, too! For example, my brother and his wife use condoms because they don't want to have anymore children but also don't want to have surgery. For the person who posted that the Bible was written by man, let me enlighten you. The Bible was written by man through God. That means that, while man wrote the text, God was who gave man the words to write it. This issue for me is not JUST about WalMart, it is about all businesses who sell homosexual material.
Oh you're kidding! Blazing Saddles is one of the funniest movies
And no, I'm not a guy.
Animal House, without a doubt, funniest movie of all time.
LOL
My current cat doesn't watch much TV, but my last one liked to watch hockey. sm
He would sit in front of the TV and swat at the puck now and then. The only time my current 4-year-old cat watches TV is if the TiVo restarts for some reason and that little animated video comes on with the dancing TV and the loud music. He's fascinated by that and will come running to sit and watch it.
What do y'all think of this twisted situation?
My daughter has been married to an Indian for over a year. He has not told his parents he is married to a "white woman" or even married. When Dad or Mom goes to visit him he removes all traces of my daughter so the parent can visit. This ricidulous behavior then sends my daughter, who is already exceedingly depressed, into an even further depression. I am so mad I can hardly see straight. I just sent him a message telling him if he doesn't tell his parents they are married I will, and I WILL. Oh, and they ARE getting a divorce, since hubby-darling got so infuriated that she changed all her e-mail passwords and he couldn't get in. Isn't that SICK? Jealous, sick, psycho SOB.
Y'all gotta see this, this little boy is so cute.

Had to share a smile with y'all
I just told my 8-year-old we were having spaghetti tonight for supper. He loves spaghetti. He asked me if we had any "Papa John cheese" -- LOL -- he means parmesan cheese. Sometimes my kids crack me up!
HEY, Y'ALL VOTED FOR 'EM. don't whine now! nm
nm
Ok then, is it just me or did y'all see that girdle thing she was wearing?
Like a long-leg body shaper or something.
oops, sorry for the typo..'what for 'all' the pain...'...nm

Buy a home of my own - not a palace, but more of a smallish home on a large piece of land. (nm)

Anyone move from a single family home to mobile home? sm
I own and live in a house in a midwest city in a bad neighborhood (wasn't that bad 11 years ago). I spent the day waiting for the plumber to come and jackhammer the foundation (slab house, no basement) to find a leaky pipe that is flooding my DD's bedroom. Last week, it was the electrician with quotes for costly repairs.
In the meantime, I've really been thinking about selling out and moving into a mobile home. Has anyone done this before? Is a mobile home in a decent park less of a hassle than a regular house? I'm so tired of cutting the grass and spending $$ to fix things and tired of old flooring and cabinets, etc., that are just too costly to replace. I'm single with no man to do these things for me and I can't afford a mortgage on a newer house in a good neighborhood. Some of the pictures I've seen of the mobile homes look really nice and modern on the inside.
Any advice and comments appreciated. Thanks!
Well I figure I can make my own hours & be home when the kids are home (sm)
I worked PT in an office for a while but spent most of my money on childcare in the summer. Full-time in an office was just a nightmare and I felt like I missed a whole year of my children's lives. I want to be in control of my schedule so that's why I'm looking into the cleaning thing. Never thought I would want to do that but live and learn! Some of the most intelligent people alive work as carpenters and similar things because they have learned what's really important in life. Whew....off my soapbox now :-) Good luck to you!
Daniel had a home, a very good home...
with someone in my family at one point.
She met her late husband at a club down the freeway from me. It's not a fancy place, like you say.
She does have a real brother though. That was the connection on our part.
I agree, though. It is sad that all this is coming out the way it is. I believe she was a good person...she just had a lot of problems, mainly drugs. What is really sad is that all of this is going to be seen by her daughter one day when she grows up.
Home Alone 1, A Christmas Story, Home for the Holidays, Chevy Chase's Christmas, sm
There "The Gift of the Magi," He sells his gold watch to buy her a comb for her hair and she sells her beautiful long hair to buy him a chain for his gold watch. It used to be on "Short Stories by O'Henry" but that's long gone, long ago. Good moral to the story. I can't stand "It's a Wonderful Life" -- too depressing, especially with banks closing, too intimidating right now!!!
Home sweet home.

Home, Home, On The Range SM
where the beer and the cantaloupe play . . . where seldom is heard . . . .
What happens at home stays at home. (nm)
:op
She is home, by that I mean she is 1 mile from her home.
I am the one that moved away. My brother lives there, but she requires 24-hour nursing care right now, and he is unable to provide that for her. My son is graduating high school this year and I plan to move back to take care of her, but I just can't until then. I did tell the adminstrator that they have 24 hours to figure this out, and then we will bring in the police. I have also threatened to go to the media, and this facility has a very excellent reputation and is run by the Brethren Church, so I would think they might not want bad publicity. It is a pretty small town and this is one of only a couple of care homes in the area.
I actually watch Fox as much as CNN, but (sm)
I am a Democrat and I'm a news nut, so I pretty much divided my time between the 2 channels.
My only gripe with Fox is when they rag on other news shows and/or reporters/anchors. I find it pretty unprofessional, but other than that, I appreciate the diversity. And I'm a long-time fan of Bill Hemmer. I was pleasantly surprised to see him pop up on Fox ;-)
I only watch Fox...
and I am a Republican, but I don't think that's why. I like their whole set up as far as different shows all day and I enjoy Hannity and Colmes as much as The Factor. They do lean more conservatively, but I think they have a pretty decent mix of all points of view.
I don't watch much TV either
The number of commercial interruptions is something I can't stand - there are so many FOOD COMMERCIALS! No wonder this country has a weight problem. We are given subliminal messages to eat, eat, eat! I like Animal Planet and Discovery Channel mostly but that's about it.
why would you want to watch
it's the same dialogue day after day after day, with the same expressions day after day after day, do these people seriously go the the job site and read these lines and make these expressions day after day, what a waste of time when they could be doing something good, but worst are the people who sit and watch the same dialogue and expressions day after day after day, when they could be doing something good.
Okay, well I watch it
every day and have all my life that I can remember! I don't remember a Maureen, so when I read what I did, I had no idea who it was talking about. How did you know she had a connection with Amelia and Sam?
You better watch yourself!
I just may have to write you as well and talk about my favorite thing in the world! That would bring you into the forbidden chain! Thank you so much! God gave us these beautiful animals to co-exist with, and we can all learn so much from them. I just love cats as well. They are all different. You can have 1000 cats and 1000 different pets totally. Thanks again!
I will keep a watch out for him.
I will also see if I get CMT. Thanks for the info.
Don't watch it always but I really like... sm
The blond 16-year-old (can't remember her name), she sang "I love you more today than yesterday" and I also really like the guy with the dredlocks, but can't remember his name either!!
I watch!
I love history, thanks to some gifted teachers I had back in grade school. They told us that in order to understand and enjoy history, you must put historical information in context. That is, you need to remember the PEOPLE and relate to them. These were people just like the rest of us with the same concerns for family, home, safety, etc. So, I always try to imagine me doing the things that people in history did. If things were so bad in the U.S. today, could I fight to change and throw off that government, then work to build a new country? It's amazing what these people did.
So, I've always tried to imagine myself in the position of the people we learn about in history. I try to imagine life in their time, and try to imagine doing what they did in the current time.
And when it comes to David McCullough, I can't praise enough. He can bring history alive for even the most history-hating person. I highly recommend his book on which this series is based. There is far more detail. The series really doesn't show the depth of the friendship between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. They were the fastest of friends and admired and respected each other greatly. That friendship developed during their time together in France, but that part of John Adams' life was only briefly shown. I believe the next episode will show how their friendship crumbled when they were President and Vice-President together.
Oh! I also have to admit that since I live in Philadelphia, it's very easy for me to imagine these events in the place where they happened. Back in the early 1980s, I worked just across the street and on the eastern corner from Independence Hall. Prior to the 9/11 security, I could simply wander in and out of that building, and all the other historic buildings in the area. I used to just sit on a bench and look at that building and imagine Adams, Jefferson and all the others walking in and out of the place.
If you really like American history, I also recommend McCullough's book on Harry S Truman. I downloaded it as an audiobook and listened to it on my iPod. I loved it, and I hear it is also in the works for an HBO miniseries.
How can you watch her do this?
It scares me just looking down there. Does it bother you. She's a cutie.
OMG! Watch this!
