Ready to celebrate. I wrote here some time ago about a problem with a CPA cousin. My father died and he put in writing and also told the people where he worked any money coming from there should come to me. When I got the money it had to be made out to estate of .......My cousin who supposedly was taking care of my father's last bill, etc. told me I could not cash the checks (duh) and to send to him for putting in estate money. I asked him to pay off father's last owed bill out of the money (he never did this 3 years ago now) and did not probate my father's will (said not enough there left after most all spent). I wrote a letter to cousin finally last year and said I wanted this back, next of kin, basically belonged to me. Ignored, another letter, ignored and finally asked on here who to contact for the head of CPAs and a person told me. Thanks to you, contacted the officials and after giving my cousin a deadline and telling him I had contacted the people over him, he finally sent me a check on the very last day of the deadline I gave him!! Now I wonder with him doing family like this, who else has he jipped?
any writers out there?
I've always been interested in writing and took courses toward a minor in journalism during 3 yrs. of nursing school (dropped out because I could make so much more with transcription at the time - ain't that a hoot?). Anyway, was wondering if anybody knows of any legitimate web sites that offer free-lance writers a chance to make any money or get a foot in the door. It's hard to know who you can trust online, so I was hoping somebody out there might have had a good experience with this. Thanks!

I have various screenplay and short film ideas but don't know how to get from A to Z with them.
I think I will eventually take a class, but I would really like to hook up with someone who knows what they are doing and work together.
Anyone out there like that, or do you know of anyone? I really need to spread my creative wings!

Credit cards with 0 balance can also negatively affect you -
If you have too much credit line available to you and you apply for a mortgage, they can turn you down because they know you can get your hands on that money quickly and therefore put your debt to income ratio way out of whack and jeopardize your ability to pay your bills. That happened to me once many years ago. I had 2 credit cards with large credit lines, but both had 0 balances. The mortgage company made me close them before they would approve my loan.

We filed an extension, and then sent our return out about two weeks late. We are getting a refund, so it wasn't like we owed the IRS or anything. It was just a complicated return and we were just procrastinators.
Wow! 9 TV Channels
We had 3 back in the 50s and 60s. When DH and I moved out of town, we had 2 antennas, 1 for the 1 channel, and the other for 2 other channels. It wasn't until the mid-70s that cable came to my neck of the woods. Wow - 9 channels! We were in heaven.

I am really amazed at the news channels
I don’t care where the news breaks, your major channels such as Fox and CNN have the news crews out and bringing us the latest as it happens almost. There is a tornado that has just touched down in Arkansas and warnings throughout the southeast. If I ever get breaking news on another channel I turn to these because I know cameras will already be there. I think they do a great job!
When I was growing up we had 3 channels but guess what?
I find it tremendously funny when yu0o say a trial shoved down your throat. I have cable and have, oh, over 100 channels. No show is ever shoved down my throats, we just, duh, change the channel or just DON’T watch!!!
Odd question about local channels...
Okay so here's my scenario:
I live out of town. I have to have directv because we are too far for cable. Supposedly we cannot get our local channels through Directv, but antennas are going obsolete in February. So, how do we get our local channels?
I mainly want to be able to know about the weather, especially when its bad since two years ago we had tornadoes that wrecked the area and The Weather Channel said we had scattered thunder storms!

call them and find out if they are available in your area. I also get the network feeds from New York and LA, which is especially great to be able to watch things 3 hours earlier (I'm on the west coast) and I can still be in bed by 9!

and landed on Oprah. Was shocked that some of the younger girls said Rhianna deserved being beaten because she hit him first and he was just defending himself. Did not see any photos of his beaten/bloody face on TV!!!
This is so shocking. With this kind of attitude it is not suprising that it is so hidden and shameful in this day and age.
Need cable
You need to plug your memory card or camera via USB cable into your printer and your printer has to have the capability of printing pictures and directly from the camera. There has to be a connection to make it print. Just like hooking your computer into the printer, you need to your camera via the port.
Saw a 'special' on one of the food channels on meatloaf a while back
and apparently bread crumbs/oatmeal used to add moisture so meat will not dry out during cooking - guess I realized this but never thought about it actually. I make a Mexican meatloaf using crushed tortilla chips, taco seasoning, eggs, taco sauce or salsa. Good luck on yours - sounds yummy!

I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this job or know anybody who has? My husband I want to work together and felt this might be a possibility. Any good or bad experiences to report? Need a change from MT. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Ditch your cable or dish or whatever. Get yourself an antenna for on your roof, get your coupon for your converter box for the switch over to digital and voila. Free TV.

Is there a difference between DSL and cable modem? sm
I've been working at home for almost nine years and have been on dial up. We live out in the country and DSL/cable modem hasn't been available all this time. We aren't even on the DSL list. Found out yesterday that we are going to have cable run out here and we'll have fast speed internet via cable. Is that as good as DSL? I'm really excited about this! Just wondered cable is good and reliable fast speed internet. I think anything will be better than 45 Kbps.

dsl is through phone line. cable..sm
in my opinion, is better and faster, and generally uses fiber optic lines. You can still have "outages" though, but not often. I much prefer cable. more bandwidth. have fun!
Cable tv versus dish
Can anybody give me their experiences with cable televison or dish, specifically Dish Network or DirectTV?

Why does closing a credit card account negatively affect your credit report
Especially when I never use it anyway, and really never wanted it?
With all the bank rearranging going on in the past few months, one of my accounts was tranferred to Bank of America. I was sent new cards and a new agreement, new interest rate etc...
So I called them up and cancelled but before they did, I had to listen to a spiel about how this would negatively affect my credit report.
Huh?? Why is that?
