Where the heck was she when she "enabled" her daugher to live with her, support her, and have the six previous children, let alone the IVF which resulted in these tiny innocent sweet babies??? NOW she wants to walk away because people are asking for her accountability in allowing this to happen in her house with her daughter?????? WHAT??? This is such a sick, dysfunctional family, I pray that everyone out there prays for these little infants, and the six little siblings at home, they are facing such a messed up, contentious, painful future because of their mother's/grandparents incomprehensible choices. Wow.

I have already read all of these books to my son. He knows nothing about sex one way or the other at this age. I know now he is going to hear all over school that Dumbledore is gay. This is not the way I would have chosen to teach him about these things. I am offended that after everyone has bought all of her books and read them to their children she announces this now, after the fact. Why?

There is no way I could make that decision. This season has just been amazing. I must say that Joshua is outstanding and jumps higher than I can believe. They are all so wonderful. 
After their breakup (her and Kevin) he publicly announced that her hair was so damaged after sm
years and years of hair extensions and that the only way she could keep up her look was to continue using hair extensions which became very painful and was "killing" her roots AND that the hair growing out of her head was dying almost immediately.
I don't think anyone took him seriously, but after seeing what she did (she even shaved her extensions off in the photos), I can see what he said as carrying weight now.
I just think it was years and years of stress of having to look a certain way or doing something to please others and she just said "**** it!" I'm going to cut all of my hair off! Now what do you say??/

when the opportunity arises and helps me with the kids choir at church. Some people are just loners, meaning they really don't want to do anything other than work and home. My stepdaughter is that way and I also wish she'd take an interest in outside things, but that's just her personality.
He is great around the house - we split the house chores and pitch in together to get whatever needs to be done, done.
What to do with a puppy who plays too rough?
My puppy who is about 6 months old now and is going to be a good size dog (she's a boxer). She is getting to where she plays too rough. She bites really hard and doesn't know when it is enough. I have toys for her and try to encourage her to play with them and I have a rope that we play tug of war with, but she loves to jump up on people and bite their hair, hands and feet and she can bite hard. Plus I have a cat and she's very rough when she plays with the cat. My cat is pretty playful and likes to play, but doesn't always give my dog a good swat when she needs it, so I'm constantly having to rescue my cat because she just meows and catterwalls when the dog gets too rough.
We haven't played rough with her at all since we've had her and we got her once she was weaned from her mom, so I'm not sure where this behavior is coming from. She is just so loveable and doesn't mean any harm, but she's going to be a big dog and I don't want her to really hurt anybody. My 7yo daughter is constantly getting hurt because the dog jumped up on her, bit her too hard or scratched her with her nails. We say "no" sternly and swat her on the behind with a rolled up newspaper (not hard, just for the noise) and that will have immediate results, but she always comes back for more. So what do I do?
She just loves people and especially kids and she just wants to jump on them and give them big kisses and start playing. My daughter had a friend over this weekend and the little girl was immediately scared of our dog because our dog was so excited and jumping on her. I hate to see kids afraid of my dog when she really just wants to play and be loved on. I need to settle her down without breaking her spirit and I just don't know how to do it!

Wow, it was like you were reciting a chapter from our life. We've had the hardest time around other parents and their kids. You should have seen the confused look we got the other day when someone asked us if our kids liked Diego, and we said that ours don't really watch TV. It was the politest thing to say, because there was the show up on their enormous expensive flat-screen TV, and the animation was so awful, and nothing at all was happening, and the kids were just itching to *do* something instead of being sung at by dead-eyed drawings, but how do you tell people that? ''I might let her watch TV if there were anything on that wasn't a hypnotic half-hour commercial for some crappy toy.'' If you say that, people think *you're* judgmental and weird, no matter how much they look down on you for not having the Latest and Greatest.
What can you do? Here's all I can do: Trust myself, trust my instincts that there's a mistake those people are making. My goal is to raise morally good kids. Make them good, make them smart. Rich, snobbish and overstimulated aren't virtues.
My female cat plays fetch with her toy mouse
runs to get it, picks up in her mouth, and returns/drops it at your feet. So cute! She also sometimes cries very loudly over and over when I have the oven on as if she is in distress. I have no idea why! Any ideas? LOL. My male cat sits in the window and talks to the birds, a very odd chirping sound he only does with the birds. They're just too cute sometimes!

Anyone interested in ALW broadway plays or NFL football?
As far as NFL, I have been, and always will be, a Minnesota Vikings fan. They have broken my heart so many times but I've been a fan 35 years now. I grew up about 90 minutes south of Cleveland and have never even been to MN. But I loved the color purple, the Purple People Eaters, Frank Tarkenton, Matt Blair, Chuck Foreman, etc. It's my second longest relationship (my family being my first - LOL).
As for Andrew-Lloyd Webber plays, I know every word to every song from Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, and Phantom. I also love A Chorus Line (not an ALW play). I've seen it twice live and cried both times. Most of the dancers' stories are just so sad. "At The Ballet" is my favorite. Here's a youtube link. Watch the third girl who comes in during the song (Maggie - played by Kay Cole) and watch her belt out a high E like you've never heard. (around 4:54 into the song).

I've seen Evita live several times as well as JSC. I actually got to see JCS with the original Jesus and Judas from the movie made in 1973 (Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson) at a performance in CT (Foxwoods Casino). Unfortunately, we lost Carl Anderson (Judas) to leukemia a few years back. There will never be another Judas like him, AFAIC. Godspeed, Carl.

Somewhat set schedule
I work in the a.m. and then don't work until after my chidren are in bed. One is in school all day, the other is starting two full days of preschool next week. Right nor that means working usually until 4:00 a.m. since I also have another part-time non-medical transcription job, but it works well for me. I've been doing it for years. I also use called ID and wait to do my housework until the afternoon and have my older daughter help when she gets home.

school starts here in early August - I'd prefer it be closer to Labor Day and get out in early June.

Schedule with kids
I was in the same position. After a lot of years I figured out what works pretty good for me, and my company allows it, so does the hospital.
I put my son to bed. I often nap then until about 1 or 2 a.m. Then, I work until 6:30 or 7 a.m. (already got 5 hours in!). I take him to school, and in the morning if I am not tired, I will run errands, work on the house, do something fun. I usually take a nap around noon and then I will work after he is done with his homework from 4:30 to 6:30 (my hubby makes dinner).. that is 7 hours plus 1 hour off for lunch. I also then work on the weekend a few hours to get 40 when I need it, but that is usually in the early morning, so I can spend some time with my husband. Plus I get to spend time with him anway, and after he falls asleep, then I work. It sounds very complicated but it really isn't. And you actually get time for yourself at least to relax for a time, instead of working 8 hours straight and then chores and kids, etc.
Good luck! Remember it is tough to be a woman who does too much :).

My schedule and my work -
Thankfully, until the last couple of months, I have never had to wait on work. In fact, my budget is set on 2000 lines a day which was my consistent production in a 6-hour schedule. If my schedule was based on the 1000 lines or so a day the company requires, I would not be waiting on work to be there, I would still be at production.
As far as going to school, in my life right now, that is a necessity as the stress of MTing is finally getting me down after the 15+ years I have been doing it. Also, I am lucky enough that I live in a state that college is completely free to me as long as I maintain a B average. So it would be no savings to me to quit.
Also, I got the second job to cover the shortage from the first job until it picks up again after the holidays. However, I am used to making $35-40 an hour at home and the new job only pays $14 an hour, plus I have to drive 30 minutes to get there and 30 minutes to get home now.
So, as I said before, I am doing what I can do!

I'm off by 2 every day, hubby not home until 7, so lots of time to do house stuff or go to appointments. I admire those of you who work at home, tend to kids, housework, etc.

Fibro and work schedule
Hi. I noticed several people have fibro. I constantly fight with the pain and fatigue. I work only part time. How do others of you schedule your work and deal with the pain and fatigue. I need some good suggestions. Thanks.

Poor sleep schedule.
I haven't really had a good night of sleep since I had kids 11 years ago, but man am I tired! I can't decide whether to just give up and work all night and try and sleep while the kids are at school during the day or maybe start a sleeping pill, and I'm not a big medicine person. Right now I sleep from about 2-3 a.m to 6:30-7:30 a.m. I do go to the kids school every so often during the day so I'd hate to be all tired for that but I'm so tired I'm starting to get that drunk feeling. Anyone with kids work nights and sleep during the day? Can you wake up enough to participate in school activites? 
As an IC, I don't think they are allowed to have you on a set schedule. Other companies have
gotten in legal trouble because they were treating ICs as employees. With my IC job, I let them know when I can work and, if they need extra help, they will call and ask if I can do more, but they do not TELL me when to work.

My daughter was visiting from college during winter break and downloaded The Office. I didn't watch at first, just heard it while I was doing other things... but I just was drawn to watch. So when I finished 10 hours of work, we'd watch like 5 or 6 in a row. I'm almost caught up and this show is just SO funny to me.
So that's it. My favorite show to watch is THE OFFICE. Can't believe no one said it yet.

I went to something odd at work and I think it will serve us both. As the new schedule starts on Monday, I will have from Saturday at 2 p.m. until Wednesday at 2 p.m. off this weekend and I NEED IT. Then I work 2 evenings, two 10-hour days, an 8-hour day and I am off from 2 p.m. Sunday to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Now to fit the PT job in and around that and still have more time off.
Update: I am waiting for doc to schedule an abdominal CT for me - sent my husband a message saying
that they will be scheduling me for a CT today or tomorrow. His answer: 10-4, I hope you get your health in order. Exercise please.

It should be between the daughter and the friend if the friend is going to pay any of the fees. They are teenagers, not preschoolers.

despite the problems they had, which i truly believe stem for anna's drug problems. obviously her mom wasn't too bad or she would not have raised daniel for a while. i think the mother wants her buried in Texas so the grave will be close enough that she can go visit it without having to come up with expenses of going to the bahamas to get there. although i contradict that too in poor anna needs to be buried with her son.

and everything did turn out okay. She was very concerned and upset of course but her doc was very positive with her, explaining that there are a lot of false-positives for some reason or another. Good luck to you and try not to worry. I know that is easier said than done though!

The test results were actually quite bad. I worked at a doctors office at the time and had the blood drawn there. When the results came in from the lab the four family docs I worked for called my OB and all five had a sit down, serious talk with me. I was extremely frightened, but knew I wouldnt do anything drastic if it was truely Downs. My daughter turned out 100% fine. No Downs. Nothing. With my next two daughters I skipped the test all together. I knew I would never terminate due to Downs, so I left it in Gods hands and skipped that part of testing. All three of mine are fine. That test has too many false results.
My daughter is trying to get me to try
Of course, she is a little thing, but she teaches at a high-stress school, and at the end of the day, she loves to go there. She has gained a lot of muscle which she likes and upper body strength, which she definitely needs. I need to give that a try.

and yes what is attached is definitely alive. You need to get the small comb that comes with the lice kits and VERY THOROUGHLY comb through all the hair to get the remaining eggs out. If you leave even one egg it will hatch and start the process all over again. My daughter has long hair and I combed it daily, at least an hour at a time. After 10 days, use the lice shampoo again to be sure.

My 12 YO daughter
I just had to brag about my 12 YO daughter. She and I moved into a new apartment a few months ago. A mentally retarded man, in his 50s, lives down the road. Most 12-13 YO kids won't be associated, or seen, with a retarded man....my daughter is different.
My daughter and I were outside playing catch last night when this man stopped over. She asked him to join us. He played with us for a couple of hours. She was patient, kind, compassionate and understanding.
I truly have an angel for a daughter.
P.S. On a side note, I did tell her I didn't want her to be with him when I wasn't around, etc....for safety reasons.

I would have marched up in that house and knocked him for a loop!!! I have three daughters and although they are still young I can't imagine anyone ever mistreating them!! As a mother, I can only imagine the heartache you feel for your child!! Thank God she is able to get out now b/c he sounds like a potentially violent person. If I were her, I would never look back and I would make his parents aware of his abusive and neglectful treatment even if they don't want to hear it!!!

know she does not have this behavior out of hers- she has had hers for say about 2-3 years and he does little crazy things like snap at the air (nothing there), very loving pet.

My daughter works at a daycare and they are having an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease. Pretty contagious from what I gather. I'm not sure what kind of treatment, if any, is necessary. Unless she seems really ill, I think you can probably wait until tomorrow and call your pediatrician.

what my daughter does
is 1) wait until they show readiness, 2) try to anticipate, and encourage a run to the potty,giggling all the way, and 3) makes it fun with lots of praise, and then when they are successful, she gives them 1 M&M. I know some will scream this is wrong to reward with food, but i doubt this will create big problems. My husband used to let the kids run around the house with no britches on and they were much more inclined to want to go to the potty -- but that really depends on their environment too...and personally, i don't think 2 is too soon for some kids, but it certainly is for others.
When my daughter was 13
she had her first period in August as well. (The day before school started....aahhhggg!) She did exactly what your daughter has done, nothing in Sept. and then every month since. She is now 14. Just a hint that you probably don't need, I keep a calender on my desk and put a "K" on it each month when she starts so I never have to wonder. Trust me, we all know in this house when it happens for her each month LOL!

I understand where you are coming from to some degree. Kids nowadays are more worred about and active in sex than we were; however as a parent of a teenager and understanding that this can be an emotional time for you, I have to ask. Are you really this freaked out about her sex life because she is having sex, or because of who it is with? Yes, you may not like this guy but how long do you want her to stay with him? This hissy fit of yours will only cement her with him. Keeping quiet about him and making sure that your daughter realizes that BCPs are not enough protection for what is out there would be a really good place to start. I have discovered with my own kids that sometimes just letting them see people as they really are ends relationships that I disapprove a lot faster than nagging. None of us wants to realize that our children are growing up and making their own choices but they do and are. We have to hold on to the hope and knowledge that we raised them correctly. I think we all can say that we did things that we regret and that they were/are only made worse by over-reacting parents. BTW, that age old saying about if they want to have sex they will, really does apply and do you really want to lose your daughter over some guy?
I do have to agree also with the comment about you and your hubby raising a child...WHAT are you thinking? If you don't want her to "give up her life" because of a baby and she is on the pill, then I suggest you make sure that she is well aware of the other options. You will not be teaching her anything by allowing her have a baby and then raising it yourself. I know that I sat my child down and explained things in that we have "been there/done that."as well as the fact that we will not be paying child support for a child (I have two boys).
Yes, realizing that your "baby" is growing up is hard, but come on get a grip. She is 17 not 12 and you had to know this was coming especially if you have an older child. She is having sex, not as protected as you would want, not with someone you think is good enough, BUT she is not dead/ dying nor has she run away, right? There are way worse things out there to worry about then the fact that your daughter made a bad chose in who she wanted to have sex with. Help her with the proper protection, make sure the lines of communication are open and pray for her safety and your sanity!
Again, what really (other than your daughter)
gives you the right to insist?? I do not see where you have a leg to stand on. You are upset but not thinking things through- you only have control over your own self- not your daughter, not anyone in your family and really not this guy. I read your post yesterday and I understood when you talked about what you would like for him to do but insisting? He would have to be a wuss to go along with that and being as he has this criminal history behind him, does not sound like he would be pushed into much of anything. Why don’t you get some advice from a lawyer before letting anyone else know about the information you have gotten. Probably a good idea.
