Arm & Hammer unscented, no bleach...sm
used to use Tide but it's gotten to expensive. I have allergies and these are the only 2 products to date that I've found that I'm not allergic to.
Unscented liquid Kirkland from CostCo....
for hubby's clothing (he is the sensitive one!) and liquid Gain or Cheer good smelly stuff for my stuff and sheets, towels, etc. The Kirkland works great though. I have the big Sears front loader set so have to be careful and get HE detergent.
You are so right, it did itch at first
and then got larger. It does not go as far as my face, does it? Just kidding. It is larger and ugly but on the side of the foot so not as noticable. Thanks.
I have many scented candles
that I got as gifts. I always say I am going to use them (my son does not believe me). I think it would be nice while taking a bath...but maybe I should do it while I am working or I will never get the chance...because I am always working! I have two Yankee candles. I am sure they would smell wonderful.
Husband gets mad and calls me a *itch....
We have been married for 10 years. Lately when he gets mad I am reduced to being called a *itch. When we don't make love, it is because I don't want him. Does not matter what I might do, not cook for him, not turn on the heater this morning when I am supposed to be working.
I am an MT working at home. I have to work a schedule, which I fail to do, so I have to be more stern about what I can and cannot do because I want my job. Being called a *itch---what does that really mean. I do not view myself as a *itch but then no one does. I have read that it is a woman who is extremely disliked, spiteful, overbearing, and I am reduced to this name calling because it is something he wants to call me only because I did not do what he wanted and it made him mad.
He says that he is not in the mental state he should be regarding me working as at home as it is --just not working-- Yes, for years it seems I always work as I try to be with the family and as a result I get behind and have to work every spare moment I get and even then do not make my commitment. Okay, I do get fatigued, maybe depressed, but I love working at home and I know that I have to stick to my schedule. maybe 70% of that is my fault but a lot is from him as well wanting me to do things for him that he can do for himself. like wash his clothes for work, sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't.
Well the reason for all that is to ask.... does my husband really hate me so much to call me a *itch. What really does he mean? I am not overbearing. I let him do whatever he wants. He did not have to work for years. Now he finally gets a job and he is all high and mighty about me and what I do and don't do. He can improve on things just as much as I can. does that mean you have to yell, scream, rant, and rave because he don't get his way.
He says the way to a man's heart is his stomach. Yeah, I have heard all that but does that mean you have to take it so literal. If we don't make love, it is because I don't want him and then he throws a big hissy. I am a man. My testerone levels get too high! he start punching the wall! okay, maybe we don't have time, maybe I am trying to get caught up on work and trying to balance all things, cooking, cleaning, being with my 1 child and husband and work.
Yes, I am reduced to yelling right back at him. Everyday I think I am not going to yell, but I do anyway.
Sorry, any advice. I feel we havea shallow relationship now. He gets mad and then I am a *itch. I try to get along with him and watch our shows together, then, later I get yelled at because I made time to watch TV. We make love, I think we are getting closer, and something else sets him off. I realize we have deep issues we have to work out, but I also think getting mad making the other person miserable is not the answer.
What does he really mean when he says I am a *itch now. helpless....
I can't burn scented candles in my house because it will

Do you burn candles or other scented stuff while you work?

For a child to be allowed to call a g'mother a ..itch

I totally understand your point but people saying itch when they mean scratch

Creams make me itch even more, what I have used is Aveeno skin relief body wash, not the packets
you dissolve in the water, but the actual wash that costs anywhere between $6-7 depending on where you live and was with that 2-3 times a day. You can try that too and see if it helps her any.
Fabric softener makes towels softer, yes, but it also makes them less absorbent. sm
Which is, after all, the function of a towel, absorbency. :-)
2 For 1 Sale
I understand completely. My husband is disabled so he is here with me 24/7. Drives me crazy some days. Yes I do believe husband's can be more difficult than children!
At my last sale...
20 - $1
12 - 0.25
4 - $5
2 - $10
I nearly always get them on sale --
and I usually pay around $10 or so for some really good quality shoes. Yes, I said $10.00. Sometimes I have gotten $120.00 shoes for $20. At the end of July and beginning of August is the best time for these great sales. When I find one I usually get 2 or more pair if I find what I like. Then I am good for about another few years. But for knocking around the house I usually get cheapo sneakers at Walmart. Now, for serious walking or jogging I usually end up paying about $80.00 (on sale) for a really good walking shoe.
I don't buy anything unless it is on SALE now!
toy box I got at a garage sale
I saw what I thought would make a great little wood toybox but when I looked closer it had The Budwiser Clydesdales engraved on it. It is in great shape, only a few scratches but nothing major. I paid $20 for it. I had saw it and described it to dh on the phone and he doesn't think I should put that in the girls room. (5 and 18 months). So I bought it and put it in the hallway with some toys stacked on top. You have to look close to see it. Am I terrible to use that for a toy box. Dh doesn't think it is a good idea. As already stated, you can barely see it and I thought it would be a great way to get to get some toys off the floor. Maybe when I find a better one I can sale that at my garage sale.
yard sale
It's not junk.....They're treasures! Trying to gear up, wash, tag and display it all is quite a task....But, you'll have cleaned out your garage and/or storage unit, enriched someone else's life with your old treasures and made a neat profit.

met my fiance when my daughter and his niece were having a yard sale in his front yard - they called me to come and bring them blizzards from DQ - they had a feeling we would hit it off - been together ever since - almost 4 years. .

JC Penney sale
I'm always pleasantly surprised at the sales I run across on purses (pocketbooks/bags, whatever you prefer) at JC Penney. The last time I got the cutest smallish lime green leather bag for $12. This time I found a very streamlined Relic bag in a brown pattern on sale for $23. It's a little bigger and has all the features I look for, like multiple pockets, a divider that is attached at the bottom of the bag to control what goes where, a phone pocket, the right length straps to carry from my hand or put over my shoulder.
I can't understand how so many stores think I'm going to pay $70 for a purse that's not even leather! Not going to happen.

Garage Sale Advice.
We are having a garage sale this weekend and I need any advice that you have to give. What things do you like to see or things that you absolutely hate. What time do you hit the roads? Do you look for signs or newspaper ads? Thanks for any tips.
Had our neighborhood yard sale on Sat.
and while one Mom had her back turned her daughter sold a $118 Lee Middleton doll for $2. Guess the person knew what a find they had becuase they high-tailed it out of the neighborhood. What a rotten person!
Don't yard sale the Bakelite.
Bakelite is very popular and expensive to buy (unless things have changed in the last year). My husband got $500 for 4 bracelets and 2 pins.
There is a way to test the items without harming them using an everyday household product, but I can't remember what it is...I know, no help. Maybe you can Google and find it.
Yard sale, need pricing help
I have some paint by number pictures that I do not want to keep (these are the ones already painted.) These are the old ones, probably from the 50s. I had heard these were sorta collector items but has anyone sold or bought any of these and if so, what is a good price to put on them for my community yard sale coming up? Thanks.
Community Yard Sale
I posted earlier on here about ideas about having yard sale. Someone said for early birds to put sign out saying everything before 8 double the price. Well, that sounds good but in reality one of the first about 7:30 this morning before all set out got indignant that I would have a sign out like that, stating she had been to sooo many sales before and did I want to sell or not? Not was basically my answer. I did this because I had never been involved in my community yard sale but it was so much effort and very little return. I even had a Hispanic ask me would I mind if he used the bathroom in my backyard- told him someone back there and besides that my neighbors would mind. My community has high end homes and besides that, there are laws against things like that. Oh well, live and learn.
Whatever sale item is most important to you
start there...early. Sale ads from Wednesday night's or Thursday morning's newspapers should tell you the store hours and sale hours. Many end at 11am. My dd and I like to go about an hour after stores open, though it's still dark outside. The crowds that were waiting in line overnight for the big ticket items are gone by then, and most everyone else avoids the stores until the afternoon hours, thinking they will be less crowded. Wrong they are though. There are more employees on duty early rather than later, so things move more quickly in the morning hours. We've also found the earlier crowds to be friendlier. DD starts singing Christmas carols while standing in line and soon lots of others join in. She's a blast to shop with. Then we go to a late breakfast and go home before the unfriendly crowds show up. Hope your experience is an enjoyable one.
Start with what's on sale and build from there ... sm
1. Stick to from-scratch meals when you can as opposed to anything packaged and/or processed.
2. Bake bread from scratch, too, rather than buy, if you can, or at least pick up some of the frozen loaves of dough and bake 'em, which is usually still considerably cheaper.
3. Potatoes (unless you load 'em down with something fattening or need to avoid starches for some reason) are generally pretty cheap, as are eggs, various types of pasta, chopped frozen vegetables. When I'm in "conservation mode," I tend to make a lot of macaroni salads, potato salads, egg salads, etc., either as standalones or as sandwich fillings (and if you stick to low- or no-fat dressings, sour creams, salsas, etc., you can stay reasonably healthy).
4. Cereal (both hot and cold) and milk, if you buy wisely for both price and nutrition, are usually a reasonably cheap meal, as well.
I'm sure you know all this, but just brainstorming. But definitely try to take advantage of what's on sale and incorporate that when you can.
walmart has a good one on sale for $398 starts from 11/5 to 11/15. nm

Yard sale tomorrow - how much change?
Hi, everybody, happy TGIF.
I'm having a yard sale tomorrow and hoping to raise a decent amount of $ to help buy a wheelchair accessible van for my DH. My question is this: How much change would you think I should have available and in what sorts of denominations? Most stuff will be under $10 but there will be a few higher priced items.
Thanks !

About earnest money on sale of house
I am due to sell a home and the realtor has $5,000.00 he says he has put in escrow. i have asked him this question but no answer so thought I would send it out this way and see if others have had similar issue. I am thinking this money is like a down payment and if so I would just as soon wait until the closing to get that. My realtor said if the purchaser pulled away, then it would be my money. My relative is so worried that i should get the money right away which, like I said above, can just wait as closing early part of July. Anyone have any insight into this? Should I have the money up front, is it not a downpayment?? Thanks.
Reading about yard sale below and my question
is- I have some costume jewelry that belonged to my mother. I have probably 30 to 40 necklaces, earrings, pins and then I have some bracelets. The question is about the bracelets. I believe they could be, am thinking the name is Lucite ? but perhaps there is another name for them, sorta plastic type but these are probably from the 50s. I would like to find if they are of any value because I sure would hate to sell for a nominal fee only to find out they are more expensive. I have shared a lot of this jewelry with friends, inlaws but I do not wear most of this and it just has sat here for years. BTW, I am having my house keeper to be here with a second set of eyes for just the things mentioned below (sticky fingers and the like). Any suggestions about a successful sale? I have loads of things.
Having community wide yard sale and
had it not been for this post I probably would not have checked my bracelets out. This was posted last week but I thought some that replied might be interested to know it was exactly like they thought, more expensive than just the average and collectable.
We also had a community yard sale this weekend.
I've done this three other times in the 23 years that I've lived here. Every time was way more hassle then it was worth. For me, the point of my yard sales has never been to make cash. Rather, I'm just trying to clear clutter. And people who come to a yard sale can be soooo rude and pushy. They'll want to haggle over something that costs 50 cents! This time, I put everything out and told my home-from-college son to run the sale. He could keep the money. It was worth it to him, but I won't ever do it again. I spent so much time getting the stuff together and getting it ready and tagged. I could have done something more enjoyable with my precious time!
Next time I want to clear clutter, I'm tossing and donating. No more selling!
I am hating all stores with anything for sale on line!!! sm
Went to Target.com to order a bunch of dolls and stuff to go with it and web site stated all was in stock and would ship in 1-2 business days. I ordered this for my daughters birthday in September. I placed my order August 2nd and only got one doll in time for her September 30th birthday!!! I emailed and called to complain about offering merchandise and not having it available. Never got anywhere with them..except a bunch of email replys from someone outside of the US!!!
Went to Toys R Us.com to place a huge Christmas order. I had a coupon for $50.00 off my order if I ordered a certain amount of merchandise and I also had free S&H. Got a call from my credit card stating someone at Toys R Us used my card to order a bunch of stuff for themselves.
From now on shopping only in stores with CASH!!!
Goody's oftentimes puts Dockers on sale for 50% off...sm
If you don't have a store near you, you can register on-line and they'll alert you to the sales that include internet orders.
finally....a sale that coincides with my purse being full. LOL
nm.
They are doing an early Black Friday sale now online!
There is a website that shows all the Black Friday ads and also shows which ones are online now, or will be on Friday. Most stores are doing the same sales online now.
Just Google black friday info
Last week, bananas were on sale for 39 cents per pound.

Husband for sale - harder to work with him home than the grandkids. (sm)
He is cleaning our furnace and muttering, muttering, hollering where is this, I bet I have got up and went in there 4 times this morning to just have him mutter never mind I found it.
You gotta love them, but he of all people should know my money comes from my butt being in that chair.
If the lady had this doll at a yard sale, apparently it didn't mean that much to her. sm
and maybe the mom said to her daughter that anything at the yard sale is for sale at any price - she just wants to get rid of it. You shouldn't judge unless you know all the facts.
Yeah, I meant fresh stuff when I said on sale, but didn't .... sm
...finish my thought (a common problem in Chuckville).
Now that I finally have closed on the house (just a month ago) I have a huge yard in which to put in a garden this year (or whenever I get the energy, at least, which may be the 12th of Never the way I'm feeling today, but can't be until about mid May with our short growing season here).
Speaking of lettuce, the local (and only one for about 35 miles in any direction) grocery store here had iceberg lettuce for $3.95 a head the year before last. I kid you not. I coulda plotzed.
Our local holiday bazaars always have hand-made Girls outfits for sale. Check

this makes me sad...
Life is too short to be unhappy. If you don't love your husband and are not attracted to him anymore, then why don't you leave him? I can't imagine why people (both men and women) stay in a bad, unhappy marriage. It can't be worth the effort.
Thankfully, I am very happily married (though of course, we do have our bad times...) and can't imagine my life without my husband. But at the same time, I can't imagine being miserably married either.
You need to search your heart and really figure out how you feel about your husband. Good luck!
makes me sad, too. nm
