What next???

I'm on the verge of a full-blown, foot-stomping, door-slamming temper tantrum so I figured perhaps if I vented my frustrations here, where I know many can empathize, that I'll save wear and tear on my shoes.
I'm an IC so my schedule is flexible...which is a good thing in light of today as I've now wasted 7 hours out of my work day on things which a grown adult should never have to waste time with another grown adult.
I accompanied my husband to the ER because the right side of his chest was hurting and he had a horrible cough. After 3 hours, they determine he has, with the coughing from the now-diagnosed bronchitis, torn the lining of his lung (pleurisy, presumably), which is causing the pain. They give him a Darvocet in the ER for pain, and then prescribe him an Atrovent inhaler and extra-strength Motrin for the inflammation, as well as a course of Zithromax for the bronchitis.
All goes well until we get home. Hubby decided he does not want to take the antibiotics or use the inhaler, as he has single-mindedly decided these things will "heal" themselves naturally, or, as he puts it, "I'm fine. I've just a rip in my lung."
We spent 3-1/2 hours like this --->
In finally get sick of trying to reason with him that the bronchitis is causing the cough, the strain of which is exacerbating the pain caused by the tear in the lining of his lung. That went kinda like this ---->
FINALLY, after I lost of 7 hours of production time arguing with a grown man that he does indeed the medication he was prescribed (and called his mother to back me up), he agrees to fill the prescriptions and use them as directed.
We're strapped for money. I REALLY needed those 7 hours today as it was the end of the pay period. I desperately need a new computer and was looking forward to putting the extra lines I could have gotten today toward that purchase.
Instead, I spent 7 hours accompany a grown man to the ER (not complaining about THAT at all, just the aftermath), and then having to waste 4 hours drilling into his head the importance of the medication.
Most days I can hold together really well (at least on the outside), but today just was too emotionally exhausting and the entire time I am trying to "educate" him as to the reason he needed to take/use the prescribed medications, all I could keep thinking was "I could be working and earning much-needed money right now!!!"
Well, now that I've spent another 15 minutes typing and posting this much-needed vent, I'm off to see how much money I can earn in the 2 hours before the pay period for this week comes to a close.
What a way to end the week.
For anyone who read all the way through this (and it's okay if you were laughing...at some point I'm sure I'll be laughing too), thanks.
For anyone who has had to argue with a grown man about the importance of taking one's medications, you have my sympathy!!!
