What does snopes.com have to do with

Posted By: anything.....this is not rumor, it's a bill ... on 2007-05-12

You need to read the bill before the senate and quit looking to snopes for your news. The Federal Government isn't issuing the licenses, they are basically railroading the states into making it mandate to have these ID's. If you don't, they you will not be able to fly on a plane, ride a bus, get government loans, identify yourself in another state as "legal", etc. The Feds don't have to issue it, their blackmail the individual states into doing so. If you don't go along with their stripping of your liberties, they'll take away government funding from those states. How many states do you think wants to lose their government funding? And those that do, will be up **** creek without a paddle. How convenient of the Fed Gov to try to look blameless in this matter. You really need to read the bill......it is an open-ended bill......do you know what that means? They can continue to add, add, add, on anything down the road. They want to say it isn't a national ID card, but of course, those who pay attention, know it really is, because without it, you will be denied access to federal buildings and so many other things, because as the government will see it, you DO NOT EXIST because you DO NOT HAVE an ID card. It it weren't federal government involved, then why would a federal building require a national ID card to enter?

Snopes.....
Nice speech, but check out Snopes.com when you see stuff like this for credibility. This does not sound like Bill Gates style of speech and sure enough, he did not write this.

me too, been using snopes for 11 years *LOL*

snopes merely has all the facts
x
I always check Snopes...
before I pass on any e-mails like that one.  Some people have entirely too much time on their hands to think up stuff like that.  Drives me crazy.  Every now and then I get one that is legit, but the rest of the time, Grrrrr!
Snopes last word

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF...many of these oft forwarded messages have imbedded spybots and trojans.
Check Snopes next time
This isn't true if your car is older than mid-1990s. The codes are now "rolling random codes" and change each time you use the "clicker."
According to snopes.com, Andy did NOT write this.

Snopes and MTV say Richards story was a joke.

That was just too nasty to be true...even for that fella!

Did you even bother to read the snopes.com information?

To wit:

The proposed regulations establish common standards for States to issue licenses. The Federal Government is not issuing the licenses, is not collecting information about license holders, and is not requiring States to transmit license holder information to the Federal Government that the Government does not already have (such as a Social Security Number).

My state requires a thumbprint for a driver's license. Is that invasion of privacy, too?
