What I did . . .

In Reply to: heel spur/plantar fasciitis and trying to type - kims

I had such horrible pain with heel spur/plantar fasciitis that I almost "drug" my foot for 2 years . . . went through the same regimen, cortisone injections, etc., to no avail.  I was typing reports for a chiropractor who was VERY experienced with accupuncture and asked if she could help.  Had x-rays taken that revealed I actually had no heel spur (to speak of) but the fasciitis was so painful I thought I had a spur.  After the 2nd accupuncture treatment, my pain started going away significantly and after 9 visits, it was gone forever.  This was at least 9 years ago and I have not had any trouble since.  (BTW, I had the same problem in my other foot and went the route of surgery for that . . . the recovery from that was very, very bad . . . )  The accupuncture relieved all the inflammation, and I think that is what actually helped the most, and then I performed calf stretching exercises routinely.  (I have been told by physical therapists that tight calf muscles are a major cause of plantar fasciitis.)  Anyway, it all worked!
