gardens
If I'm following this right, you'll be in PA. (Sorry, it's been a long day!) If you're into flowers and such, I recommend Longwood Gardens, and possible Winterthur. They are somewhere around 30-40 miles from Philadelphia, I believe.

Busch Gardens, Williamsburg
I've been searching online and in stores for Busch Gardens (Williamsburg) coupons but not having any luck.   I thought the credit union had them; however, not this year.  They do have disconuts for Wet-N-Wild in Greensboro, NC, though.  I've never been there but the website makes it look fun.  Anyone been there?  Thanks........
We went to the local botanical gardens for the lights - sm
then out to dinner, home around 10, 1 daughter had a friend sleeping over so they watched The Grinch who stole Christmas (Jim Carrey), my other daughter and I watched the old (first) version of The Posiedan Adventure until 12 or so then went to bed. DH went to bed about 11 and slept through. Okay evening for the most part. No hangover.....haven't done that for years.
Summer Gardens will be worth it this year.

Went to the grocery store for green peppers and milk yesterday.  I just needed two green peppers and milk, that's all.

The produce department is normally really good at our local grocery store but the peppers they had didn't even fill the palm of my hands and were all wrinkled.  Normally they would be 2 peppers for 99 cents or something like that.  They wanted 3.00 for 2 peppers!  Holy Cow!  I passed on the peppers and decided then and there I'm planting a garden again this year.

I haven't planted a garden for a few years now because we have a problem with animals getting into our garden, no matter what we do.   One year we lost an entire row (20 feet long row) of carrots, half a row of onions, and most of our corn to critters in one night.

Going small and compact this time.  Barrel gardens.  Keep the critters out and most of the weeds too.   Carrots, cukes, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and squash.

What's going in your garden?

Herb garden

My friends planted a herb garden in thiers.  They built a square flower garden probably 6 x 6 or so, lined with 4 x 4 timbers or something of the such, planting colorfull flowers at ground level but in the tub they planted a herb garden.  Oh it smelled so good.  Chives, mint, sage, thyme, rosemary, lemon balm (made the most relaxing tea from those leaves, just pick and steep).

my cousin who is 6Ɖ'/280 lb is named HERB!
I've always said it with the H simply because of my cousin's name. He is named Herbert, Herb for short, so it is very hard for me to think of cilantro as an erb.
Mine is Herb Mitchell....OMG!...nm

Try some herb teas and seltzer with lemon or lime to drink. Veggies & hummus

jail?!?!
Oh my goodness, are they really putting that into effect? I read it in the paper ( I am in Rincon, right outside of Savannah) and we just bought a new house, they put the grass down and said water it every day for 30 min,...and I said, how on earth am I suppose to do that with that water restriction going on!  He said, "I dont know, if they say something to you, say you didn't know."!!  I can't believe he told me that!!  We have been getting rain here every other day or so, so its not too bad now.  Today it has been raining for a few hours.  They were actually calling for some flooded streets here in Rincon but then suppose to be right back to dry weather the rest of the week :(
Paris is off to jail
I think her lawyer wanted the electronic device but noooooo said the judge and it is 45 days in the slammer for Ms. Paris.
yes, she's still in jail this morning . . . nm

I didn't say put them in jail. (sm)
Tougher financial penalties, community service, loss of any business license - there are other options.

Jail/Prison

My BIL has been in and out of jail many, many times. He always says it's much better on the INSIDE than on the outside.

Let's see...they don't have to work, yet they get fed, a bed, clothing. They don't do their own laundry, yet they have clean clothes and linens. They get cable TV, take college classes, eat 3 squares a day, work out and get buffed up...so they can riot and overpower the guards, play cards, basketball, make phone calls...all at our expense!

Yeah, poor prisoners...they sure do have it tuff...

Yeah, except for the ones in jail because a 17-year-old
girl with a crush falsely accused them; happened to someone I know.
I never have used a crate in the 20 yrs of pet owning. Seemed like jail.
Take them out after each meal. Wait until they poop and applaud with joy, go immediately back into house. Take them out before sleep and first thing in morning to pee, afterwards cheer with glee. If you know what is going in, you can expect what will come out.

That is my experience.

Crates in my mind are used to spare the owner of an high energy dog. Walks will cure that. Long walks.

If no one is home all day, get up early and take him for a 30-45 minute walk and he will sleep all day awaiting your return.
The judge tosses her in jail - sm
Hope the link works.   Pretty unbelievable story.
In the jail they're sending her to,
inmates only get 3 pairs of underwear per week!

Which is apparently 3 pairs more than she normally has.
Paris reportedly out of jail..sm

It is on the news report on the internet, CNN I believe, that Paris Hilton is out of jail after just three days, due to medical reasons.  She was put in an electronic ankle bracelet and has to remain at home.  Reportedly a psychiatrist went to visit her twice, the last visit being over two hours long, yesterday.

must be nice!!!

Just saw show on this about getting jail records, etc.
This prosecutor said when accessing a file you have to put in login # and time and I would suppose identifying yourself before getting a record on a person's previous jail records.
if not in Obama cabinent, you just go to jail!!

I tend to believe
that everything is vitamin deficiency. I have had similar symptoms and felt better with magnesium supplementation and Kelp. I also take regular vitamins in addition. You could also be having some side effects from the bcp and Ambien.

I tend to take the attitude that our bodies heal themselves, but I do have to make sure that the food I eat has some nutrition to it, that my bed is facing the right direction, and that I get some fresh air and a little exercise.

I did formerly think everything was mental, but my diet was mostly junk and I smoked two packs a day. The behavior was crazy, but I wasn't, just unhealthy.
I tend to be like your SIL

I tend to be like your SIL and rarely call people.  There is something in the back of my  mind that thinks I'm bugging them and I can't get past that.  It's weird, I know.  It also comes from years of working in a business where I had to make small talk with people I don't know and having to answer constantly ringing phones.

Just because I completely get where she is POSSIBLY coming from, I would say to not take it to heart so much and keep on making the effort.

Paris Hilton to jail for 45 days?

Prosecutors want to have her spend 45 days in jail for her priors.  DUI, reckless driving, probation violation, not going to an alcohol program, etc.  I think she should go.  Anybody else would have been in a jail a long time ago.  Celebs should not be given SPECIAL TREATMENT.  Can't wait to see her picture in her prison jumpsuit.  She will probably have it custom made.

Jimmy Kimmell has been doing jail scenes on her

Besides many times life in jail is short anyway
or the criminal ends up with his own kind and fits in fine and learns more... so, if they live long enough (not killed by the other inmates) they learn how to be a better criminal. I just am agreeing there should be no parole. But oh boy, I'd never want to see the inside of one of those places.
I read where the Goldman's said they take credit for him being in jail -
they said if they had not pursued him so relentlessly for money he would not have been trying to steal his things back and they take credit and are proud that they pushed him into doing another illegal act so that he would finally be imprisoned.
Death Penalty Vs. Life in Jail

What do you think is worse?

I would think being locked in a jail cell for life, with the key thrown away is MUCH worse, than ending their life.

Can you imagine sitting in a cold jail cell, no windows, no tv, no books, no paper and pen, just a room, w/ a toilet, a cot, and bare minimum food to keep you alive.

I think that is worse.

Jail might be the safest place for him at this point...nm

You know, I don't know, but I would tend to believe the other posters have hit
the nail on the head that it is a comfort zone and perhaps he cannot or will not be without a woman. He is not terribly outgoing, so I do suspect he has esteem issues of his own. In any case, I think I will follow the advice here and wait and see what life brings and not try to settle for less than.
You may be right, I tend to be very negative
So thanks for the honesty, I may just get that DVD.
Tend to agree with you

especially with the way we are being "kept alive" longer these days with more and more medical breakthroughs, medicines, proceduers, etc.  It's not uncommon to live into your 80s and 90s any more.

On a slightly different note, I felt middle aged the first time a grocery clerk called me "ma'm".  Oh boy did I feel old even though I'm only 48

Sister! Except I tend to not even
start what I figure I won't finish, LOL. But sleep is one of my (only) 3 hobbies.

I just want to garden and walk my puppies and watch TV and sleep.

Is there any money in putting in gardens for other people when I don't even have a degree in horticulture? Sigh.
For the aircraft, I tend to wonder if (sm)
it was some sort of military craft they were testing and the bird I wonder if may have been an exotic pet someone had that escaped or was abandoned. Either way, it didn't belong where it was.
I tend to agree with you - sm
Also a huge, huge fan for years and then the story line seemed to get more and more ridiculous.  I kept watching but would often flip through a magazine at the same time.  I was going to quit watching last year, but when I heard it was the final season I figured I would see it through to the end.  Yep, they should have ended it when it was still a great show.  Glad they put it to bed at last!
I tend to agree
R's parents are not, to my knowledge, alcoholics. However, multiple family members on his mother's side are; those that don't admit to being alcoholics just consider themselves 'hard drinkin' good ol' boys. However, I think R's childhood created a 'perfect storm'. His parents, while not alcoholics, did used to like to drink with friends and many weekends would dump the 2 kids off with the maternal grandparents so they could go drink and carouse. Lesson learned: Booze and buddies are more important than family with a dash of feeling unloved.

Add to that the fact that alcohol helps numb the pain and lets you feel like you're a different person for a while. In addition, since literally everybody he spends time with drinks and 'smokes' as much as he does, he is accepted. After I had called the police, he was shocked because I would do such a thing. In his circle, it is accepted that you get drunk, sometimes you hit each other, and you just accept it because everyone knows you do stupid things drunk and it doesn't mean anything. I probably perpetuated that by not calling in the cops the very first time he laid hands upon me.

I'm not 100% sure I believe in the genetic risk. I tend to lean toward environmental. After his arrest, R went 2 months without drinking. There were several days in there where he would groan about really wanting a Budweiser, but he worked through those days. But then he started spending more and more time with his cousin, and then one day he didn't work through it anymore and twisted off the cap and has been drinking steadily again for the last month.

Although I'm not a big Dr. Phil fan, I heard a quote from him that went, "We generate the reality we think we deserve." I think psychotherapy would help R more than AA, so that he can get back to where he realizes that sober R is not unworthy of anything.
I know, I know, Us Pittsburghers tend to go just a

Anyway -- Great game by two great teams.

And I am psyched!!!!!    I am calm now.  A little bit.

Oh what the heck ---  GO PENGUINS!!!

We're doing okay considering. He managed to get out jail on a signature bond
and came back here saying this is half his house and I can't force him out.  I met with my attorney who told me the only way to force him out is to file for divorce and then ask the judge for a court order to remove him from the house.  So that is what I'm doing.  My attorney is working on the paperwork, I'm gathering all up all my financials, deed to my house, etc, and he will file as soon as possible.  Until then, according to the law, I'm stuck.  As long he doesn't harm me or our kids, he cannot be forced out by an order of protection.  So my options are make him hit me or just bide my time.
The younger ones tend to have more 'stamina.' If the 2 of you get

ENJOY!

We do tend to remember the image
we had of ourselves from back when we all used to look in the mirror most often (that is, in our teens and early 20s). Men have an even stronger tendency for this than women. I remember Steve Martin being interviewed. He confessed that even though all the men in his family had had their hair turn white at early ages, he had not noticed it was happening to him until he saw himself in a movie.
People do tend to underestimate
the cost of having pets. Their intentions may be good, but it's an education problem. Where I live, if you don't have the dog on flea control and heartworm prevention, a dog just can't be healthy (well, I have heard some raw diet experts say their dogs can be kept free of fleas with their natural techniques, but they are highly educated on the subject). I've got a partial bag of dog food I can't use; wish you were in my area so I could donate it, but you didn't say.
Those places tend to be more expensive sm
Glad you found something that works for you, but that is not the case with everyone. QVC, Catherine's, etc, tend to be more expensive, which is okay for a special occasion outfit once in a great while, but I cannot afford to spend that kind of money on my everyday clothing. Also, if I can't try it on, I usually don't buy it. I have bought clothing from catalogs and feel for me that it is not worth the hassle. Things look one way on TV or in a picture that do not translate well on me. Even in a store, I have picked something up that I thought was really nice and hated it once I tried it on, as I am sure many women have. I am not defending wearing too-small clothes. I am only trying to come up with a reason for someone doing so. You wouldn't catch me dead out of the house in something too small.
wow that's SO true-we tend to the elder parent who....

at least some of us will make/made that choice - I certainly did.....well, the abusive one died many years prior to the nonabusive parent (the Lord does have one strange sense of humor I thought back then *lol*) and took care of the nonabusive parent for 10 years until their demise.

Children are forgiving, but if a parent NEVER says *I'm sorry* or *I was wrong* when, indeed, they are/were wrong, well I do not believe children/offspring forget.

just my 3 cents worth......

Men do tend to die younger, so it makes sense
to find a younger one. Mine is 4 years older, and he is aging faster because he hasn't taken care of himself. High school and college sports can take a heavy toll on a man.
I find they tend to be polite and reserved.
It makes me feel like the rest of us must seem loud, nosy and obnoxious to them, but then again I tend to be paranoid when people are too quiet, LOL.
well the word "hijacked" does tend to put one on the defensive
