and she isn't saying anything that's not the truth. A person without children marrying someone with a child is throwing themselves into unknown territory, but I have seen women want a husband for just themselves and think the child is no big deal to handle but once into it, they get very jealous and out of sorts, whining and complaining to anyone who will listen. Lets face it, you didn't know this guy but 2 months when you married him and this man has a child. This child will not act like a grownup but a child, a 6 year old child. And yes, a lot of stepchildren seem selfish and like a brat to the new stepparent because they have never had to deal with a child. Your stepson probably is exhibiting behavior that is upsetting to watch and I question that you would find they both need medication and counseling but you don't think you may need the counseling too? This is a big step you have taken....you probably should have given the marriage more thought beforehand. His child will/should be his first priority..... I just hope you can accept that.
