Watch the foot network. sm

In Reply to: I can't cook. I live alone but have adult children... - sm

I started watching food net work a couple of years ago.  It is amazing how much I have learned.  Especially Emeril, R. Ray and Sandra Lee.  Good luck, hope you and your family enjoy your new cooking skills.

My current cat doesn't watch much TV, but my last one liked to watch hockey. sm
He would sit in front of the TV and swat at the puck now and then. The only time my current 4-year-old cat watches TV is if the TiVo restarts for some reason and that little animated video comes on with the dancing TV and the loud music. He's fascinated by that and will come running to sit and watch it.
That's my 6-foot, 3-inch hubby and 6-foot, 5-inch son...
Those quotation marks and apostrophes don't show up on this board, do they!

Also, forgot to mention that the Prius is a whopping 90% less emissions than a regular combustion engine. That's a plus. The electric engine supplements the gas and so the car never loses ground going up hills, great pick up. And don't worry about the rumor that says the batteries eventually die and need pricey replacement. That's not true. There are several individual cells that are not at all expensive to replace and should last many, many miles. There are lots of older Prius on the road now that are going strong after 200,000 miles on the road with not even one cell replacement, much less the entire battery system. They are THE standard for hybrid design right now.

You can find out more about them at the dealer or by googling. The tech-geeks really like the car and put out lots of detailed information on the internet about the Prius.
That network is actually getting worse, if that is at all

food network channel

I watch the Food channel and now they have a special:  Giada in Paradise.  Love love love Santorini (Greece) where this is filmed but I am so distracted by Giada's massive ginormous head and large numbers of teeth along with her phony inflection. It is driving me nuts!  How mean am I??  She just irks me and it's ruining the show for me.

Next Food Network Star sm
I am watching right now to see who the winner will be.  They said this is the 3rd Next Food Network star.  I know Guy won last year and does Guy's Big Bite and Diners, Drive ins, and Dives.  Does anyone know who the first Food Network Star was?  I don't even remember that competition.  Thanks.
Errr FOOD network.

Big difference between food and foot - MTing too long!

We are experiencing some Network Problems.
We are working on the issue and it will be fine soon.

Thanks,
MTStars Support Team.
have had all three, Dish Network superior
if you have an HDTV I would not recommend cable at all. It may not be true for all cable companies but Adelphia looked horrid on ours. Had Dish Network years ago and they were horrible in the customer service department...never again!!!
I have Dish Network and I saw it just fine.
Even recorded it. Too bad I don't know how to send it to you.
As others have said, it's a network marketing (MLM) model like the others, but also -- sm
...generally, the only folks who make decent money in an MLM or network marketing scheme are those who get in on the ground floor, or very near the start. This particular company has been around for so many years that I'm doubtful there's much money to be made at this point (except for your distant upline) unless you are REALLY the salesman type.

If you want to act as a distributor without the pressure or need to convert others into distributors, as well, you could look into something like Vitamin Power (and others), which don't require all of that nonsense. You simply sign on to be a distributor then get the product at wholesale prices, which you in turn then sell to others at a markup. In fact, you don't even need to maintain an inventory, as they'll drop-ship for you. (Case in point, though I'm a distributor for them, I would get absolutely NOTHING for bringing you into the business, and I'm certainly not trying to do that here, as you can sign up with them, or a similar company, on your own.) In any case, I'd suggest avoiding multi-level marketing schemes altogether.
Tiramisu? Try Food Network for ideas, too. nm

her $$ wasn't big coming from food network

but she NEVER hit the BIG TIME until Oprah took her under her wing early last year.........and is why her talk show was put on the same channel as Oprah's show.

I really liked and preferred Rachael Ray when she was new, on food network, from upstate NY when it didn't all GO TO HER HEAD!  Now, instead, I find her annoying and NEVER watch her anymore.

JMO.

I have had two network cards knocked out by lightening.

My thing is Lifetime Movie Network movies...sm
I love most of the movies on this channel. I could sit and watch them all day.
WIRELESS NETWORK!!!- sounds like you are getting hacked (for lack of a better term)
You need to secure your network. Check outside your home at these times for a strange car. A neighbor with a teenage boy or girl using a wifi connection to access your network getting on a porn or gaming site that bills via a VOIP dial-up It can be done.

you want to make sure they cant access you need to secure your network with passwords and such and turn your router off at night when you go to bed no wireless = no connection.

Hope this helps feel free to email if you need some more info.
Food Network TV personality...host of Good Eats.
Great show...he blends science with food.  It's perfect for those of us with attention-span-holding issues!
Someone on main board I think, recommended angel food network, which (sm)
I have been familiar with in the past. You might want to check that out as a way to save a lot of money on your food bill.

Not the pedal foot!!! arg
I dropped a HUGE heavy glass cooking dish on my pedal foot, actually knocked it off the stove onto my foot.  Fortunately it didn't break but holy freaking crap does my foot hurt.  I'm sure my foot isn't broken but the whole area that got hit is now a nice shade of black.  I am not ambidextrous with my feet! lol.  Kay...done with my pity party.
Did it help your foot swelling too? (sm)
Because I have that too. And I get so sleepy I can barely stay awake!
With foot & mouth going around, I'd
call the answering service number and ask the MD on call if it can wait.

If they were just clear blisters I'd guess it was a contact dermatitis, but the blood would make me act on this.
LOL!! Should be dog food (not foot!!!) nm

claw foot
Same thing happened to me - my sister wanted it desperately, but they got rid of it before we could ask for it.  Absolutely the most comfortable tub I have ever had.  The rolled edge is perfect for you head/neck, deep enough for lots of bubbles.  Those were the days!
I was in the same position until I put my foot down.
Stopped doing all the little things they liked. One by one, they wondered what was wrong with me. I finally said they could at least pick up their things. Husband cleaned the kitchen that night and the dining room floor. You have got to put your foot down and stick to it! Don't feel bad for them, you help them by not doing so much and taking care of yourself. Then, they will realize and pitch in. It does not happen overnight and you may have to grin and bear a messy house for a while. But don't see it, and do something for yourself instead, get out of the house, read a book, take a walk every time you feel bad for them and then do for you. It works, speaking from experience. But you have to stick to it! You will feel better. Try it you will see!
foot tattoo
It did hurt, but it was the kind of hurt that stopped after a bit.  I think that the whole top of my foot was pretty numb after the outlining.  I will try to upload a pic, but I have never done that so it might not work!
can you put something under the foot pedal to (sm)
raise it up? Is the back fo your leg touching your chair too much? Maybeif you raise up your foot you will get better circulation.
I get toe/foot cramps....
when my potassium is low. When I take my potassium supplement it resolves, so I do believe there is a connection, at least in my case.
Foot problems, anyone?
I do not have diabetes, no Morton's, do not have neuropathy that I am aware of. I have been to orthopedics, podiatrists, etc. and have not gotten any help to now. Both feet have issues. When walking along my right foot will hang in mid air as I should be stepping down on it and that makes me do a double jump so I will not fall. The other foot, left, hurts in toes 3 and 4 and sometimes on the outside of the foot. This sounds silly but had toes painted ( on that left foot) and the other night my darn end of my toenails hurt on those 2 toes. I took the polish off the next day and since then they have felt ok as far as the toenails aching but still having pain in the toes.  I am at wits end trying to find a solution for these issues. Does anyone have a suggestion? TIA
foot problem
I had a similar problem about 10 years ago. It turned out to be a Morton's neuroma between my 3rd and 4th toes. Simple day surgery to remove and total pain relief. Very short recovery period required.
The foot that hurts is not using the pedal.
The pain is in my left foot, but my right foot uses the pedal.  I think if I tried using my left foot on the pedal it would be too painful...
Foot-in-mouth-disease

At one time or another we have all suffered from it.  Sometimes, things just pop out of our mouths before we have had a chance to edit them.  What was probably a poor attempt at conversation turned out to be an embarrassing situation for both of you.  Accept his apology and move on.

It's a really nice foot rest ...
because most of the time you are not going to want to lift it down. If they still have pictures of the tablets, that was a handy feature in case you ever find an unpackaged tablet in your house and can't identify it. :oD
Cat foot vs. puppy food
I don't know anything about the Canidae or Felidae brands, but most of what I've read about cat care has said that cats need a lot more protein than dogs, and different nutrients. And cat food might be too rich for dogs. Especially for urinary health, and especially for male cats. I lost a lovely young male cat last year to urinary tract blockage and eventually complete renal failure. Although no one can be entirely sure if it was 100% food-related or not, I feel that it may have been, because my kitty ate ONLY dry food, which isn't good for cats, either. He just didn't like canned food and wouldn't touch it. I also had gotten lazy and occasionally let him eat cheap grocery-store dry cat food, which is too high in minerals that can make them more prone to feline lower urinary tract disorder (FLUTD). Unfortunately he didn't die quickly or inexpensively, either! It was quite an ordeal. So in order to hopefully prevent this tragedy from happening in the future, my new cat now eats ONLY a premium dry cat food (Royal Canin) and gets canned food twice a day, in addition to plenty of fresh water.

Anyway, that's my personal experience, but of course, your best bet is to talk to your veterinarian! :)
I sounds like you have a foot drop. Do you..
sit with your legs crossed a lot? That can cause peroneal nerve palsy, which causes the foot drop.
Thanks! :) I checked out Foot Locker SM

and saw some really good deals on shoes.  Also, Macy's is having a 1-day sale tomorrow, and I saw a Nike Hoodie for 19.99!  I've been carusing all the websites today!  (Abercrombie and Fitch, Old Navy, Macy's, Kohl's, Foot Locker, American Eagle, and E-Bay.)  Eeeek!!  I'm not getting much work done today.  Oh well!  Hehehehe.  I'm going to have so much fun with this.

Again, thank you to all of you...you've been such a big help.

Big hugs,

Question for the dog lovers - cut pad of foot

My dog cut it's pad probably this past Sunday.  He came limping home on Monday morning but by then it wasn't even bleeding.  He is used to being outdoors (we live in the country and he can run free) and is about to go crazy because I have kept him either tied up or in the garage to give this time to heal.  I have soaked his paw daily in warm salt water and have applied neosporin to it as well.  It is looking good and there does not seem to be any infection, swelling it totally gone, and I can manipulate it without it causing pain.

This is on the main part of his foot and it is quite a slice causing a large flap to just kind of hang.  A friend who had this similar incident said her vet had her apply ointment and then wrap the pay with masking tape to keep the flap against the paw so that it would heal shut.  I have been doing this for the last several days.  He will only keep it on there for 5-6 hours and then he'll pull the tape off.

Here's the question - is there some kind of product that I can safely use to "glue" this pad back to his paw?  I know in surgical reports I have heard about a surgical adhesive that they use but is there something over-the-counter that I can get for this or even home remedy stuff to try.  I hate for him to lose the substantial part of his pad and leave his paw prone to injury with more tender skin.  I have been told that I can cut it off but I don't want to do that unless it is a last resort.  I tried to "goggle" this subject and came up with a board where it was suggested to someone else for them to just use crazy glue and glue it back in place.  That didn't seem quite appropriate!  Hopefully someone can help me figure this out!

Your foot is not going to fall off. Now I confess I did not

Pain in foot with my berkies....
I have worn and tried to wear some newer Berkies and what has been a problem before started so much with these had to return. They had a very high arch support which I need the support - maybe this was too high- but my foot felt so contained the outer foot from the little toe to almost quarter way back was so bad felt like I would get a cramp there and just took the shoes off. Have something going on and have seen numerous physicians to no avail. Leg on that side just deep aching yesterday and had to rest on foot stool to relieve. Have any of you had similar feet problem and what did it turn out to be? Am wearing thong White Mts. at the present time and these are working ok.
used to have an old iron claw foot tub
in my old house, worked really hard to keep it, replumbed entirely and it was the most comfortable tub I have ever had.  That said - others may not appreciate.  The people who bought the house ripped it out almost immediately.  I was sick when I drove by and saw it sitting in the driveway.
Mountains. Back rub or foot rub?

Your foot is looking like Swiss Cheese
Better quit shooting yourself in it. Twould that you did a little research before you spout off as an authority. Point in fact, 'stupider' is an American English colloquialism, found in some modern literature but still not considered 'proper' English, and is not used in British English, which is what you claim you use.
My first thought is gout, but if it is only associated with using your foot pedal I'm not sure.SM
Have you tried using your other foot with the pedal and elevating the foot that is swollen and hurts.  I always switch my feet throughout the day and elevate the one I'm not using.
Any consolutation, my foot spur eventuallly
went away. I did the same as you with the exercises, etc and it is just not there now.
I'd hold off on the foot pedal, Scott, sm
as you may hook up with a company that will provide you one that is specially programmed. I bought a wav pedal a few years ago and never used it.
My Misha had terrible foot trouble.
Not sure why she had infections going in her front feet, but she did. Finally had to have surgery on one of them. If you take the dog to the vet, the vet can put a better wrap on than you can. He can put a stiff sole in there and then wrap it with that semi-sticky splint wrap stuff. The soaking was good. We used epson salts or just soapy water. Definitely don't cut anything off. If it looks like part has turned whitish like it has no blood supply, then even that can be left in place as a temporary cover on the wound, the way you leave the cover on a blister, even if it breaks open. Eventually it will dry up and peel.

But I would probably have taken the dog in to the vet on Monday. In fact I did once for a cut pad; didn't know how old it was, but the vet was not worried about that one because it was only a couple of mm deep. There was no flap.

If you don't think a vet trip is necessary, they do sell booties with Velcro straps at pet stores. If you get the right size it might help you protect your bandage and keep it on longer. We did that with Misha. Maybe if you put extra stiffener in there and even glued in some bubble wrap or other cushion, maybe you could walk the dog sooner. You could use cushioning from people shoe inserts, maybe glue it to cardboard and tuck it inside the doggy booty. Course it would have to be a little bigger than the foot to accommodate all that.

Good luck.

Tell me my foot isnt gonna fall off!!
I had what I think is a blood vessel to burst in my foot on the side. My hubs says not a big deal, and maybe it is not but it seems to have spread a little, not over the top of the foot but bigger on the side of the foot. Had anyone had a similar happening? I am one of the older MTers so might just be an aging thing? Thanks.
