Fresh fruit salad or fruit kabobs
Sounds yummy!
I've always wanted to make one of those cakes with the blueberry/strawberry flag design on top. Maybe I'll plan for a party next year. :)
How bout this
Went to drive in with guy (okay do drive-ins date me?). Went to bathroom as I'm getting back into car and my friend and her boyfriend who were there also are signalling wildly for me no, no, no. I look at them weird, open door sit down to find I'm sitting on some girls lap. I yell at him "What did you do go get another girl while I'm in the bathroom". Look over and realize it wasn't my boyfriend Danny.
Huh, Britney, sorry bout that

My dad and I were just talking bout this
My grandmother is from PRico - when she came her her older sister took her in and made her learn english before anything else. My grandfather came from Canada and he had to learn english from his family. On another note...I keep getting my phone bills in spanish. Not half english/half spanish - ALL spanish. I've called the compnay many times and said I can't read the date its due and anything. They apologized but never fixed the problem. Also, I have been getting literture from them and that is also in spanish. They also answer the phone in spanish and I have to ask if they speak English (makes me feel like a foreigner in my own country). I have solved the problem though and switched my phone company. I'm now with a company that my bills will be coming in english. I just can't understand it(well I do understand, I just don't agree).
How bout "Izzy Onna?" nm
I see your point and agree - how bout this though
Maybe what I should have said was that maybe the mother should have told her daughter that if she is in the ER she should not be playing with her Game Boy, talking on the phone, and laughing and joking with the mom, and she should have at least "acted" as though she was sick. I think that's the point I was trying to make but it didn't come out right. I certainly do understand about people needing the ER for reasons (lousy day care, etc). Just for pitty's sake if your taking your daughter to the ER tell her to pretend she is sick and not play, laugh and talk on the cell phone.
I forgot to tell you bout mine
Sometimes I feel like I'm about to scream. Luckily I'm not in as bad situation as OldMT (you poor thing) and he's not as grumpy as what sm wrote (you poor thing too). He's not grumpy, and he laughs a lot and emotionally he's fine, but I guess I would call it indecisive in not knowing what he wants to do with his life. He comes out about every 3 - 4 hours to discuss with me what he wants to do. This is like 6 or 7 times a day. This is every single day. No lie - honest to goodness truth every single bleeping day. Maybe once or twice a week there's a break. He isn't working. Quit his job about 6 years ago (absolutely hated it) and has not found what he wants to do "when he grows up". He'll come out and tell me he wants to do this. Then 3 hours later tells me something different, then about 2 hours later is something different, 3 hours later it's back to the first idea he had, etc, etc, etc. He asks me what I think and I give him my honest opinion (in a very upbeat and light and positive way) and as we're disccusing this and I'm finished talking he answers me and is talking about something totally different than what we were just discussing (he's back to talking about what he was thinking about the last time he came out). I feel like I'm losing my mind. One time he told me an idea he was thinking about and I told him it would be good but I could see some down sides to it. I then got "blasted" by him for about an hour telling me how negative I was and how is he ever supposed to find something he wants to do if I'm so negative. He's talked about wanting to go back to school to learn a trade but we don't have the money for him to do that and thanks to the way the country is going, what he used to do is not around anymore.
BTW - For all those who will just blast me with "just tell him this or just tell him that), you cannot just tell your DH to quit whining and get a job - does not work. :-)
Anyway...just wondered if this is male menopause he's going through and how much longer its going to last. I haven't even started my menopause yet and I would at least like him to be through his before I go through mine (that will not be a pretty sight). :-)
You are correct - sorry bout the type
I always thought it was riddens. Guess I said it that way so much I thought it was that.
Too much - how bout once every half hour or so
Drives me insane, although things have gotten so bad here were we live (crime wise) and peoples home are being broken into while they sleep so I sleep at night and he sleeps in the day/afternoon. But when he is awake he comes out of his room every half hour or so to tell me the latest in news/events. It drives me absolutely crazy.
But it's better than it used to be. However, I do love my time when he's sleeping.
How bout Drs. Cox and Grant? Sounds like a cough syrup.

Fruit Kabobs?
I have to send in fruit for my son't party at school tomorrow. I thought fruit kabobs would be a cute way to do this. Can I make them tonight and still be good tomorrow afternoon? I only ask because he wants apples and bananas to be included and they usually go brown on me when exposed to air. any suggestions?
Or fruit tray and dip.

Just like the Tropical Passion Fruit
I love that stuff. I only have a little inch in a purse-size spray now. Supposedly they may bring it back, but I am bummed. I loved that for the summer.
Fruit kabobs? Do you cook them?
Sorry to show my ignorance, but the idea sounds really good. I never thought of fruit kabobs. Do you BBQ, broil or bake? Which fruit combinations are best?
Also, I would add something fun for kids if you have them (and adult easy) by making cupcakes in flat-bottomed ice cream cones with icing decoration. Kids love them. I would also add a relish dish and probably a veggie platter.
So sad...but thanks for this. I have a small dog who loves ANY kind of fruit
s
I lightly grill my fruit kabobs...
Simple combinations like strawberry-kiwi, strawberry-banana or strawberry-pineapple are outstanding grilled desserts. Also, mango is really good with any of these combos. Grill the kabobs over medium hot coals for 6 to 8 minutes, turning a few times. They're great as is, right off the grill, with nothing else added. But I find them best with added sweetness, like a very light sprinkling of a sugar-cinnamon mixture or brush on some white grape juice or a very light sugar or honey syrup. Hope this helps..
berry or fruit juice for diets sm
Heard the "free trial offer" for the acai berry (sp) on line is a farce because once you give all the info and agree to the low shipping charge, you are locked into an automatic charge to your credit card of 80 plus dollars. If you try to contact them, the phone number provided is non-operational and you are stuck. Is this berry product available in retail stores? Also, anyone find any pomegrant (sp) juice helpful and who has the best price on it? Need to lose some "winter weight" and it's not even winter yet. Kind of hard when you sit all day - I know, I know - diet and exercise! Told by my cardiologist to walk but recuperating from surgery, so not that active. TIA
What has helped my pain are fruit and vegetable capsules. sm
I have been taking them for 8 years or so ever since my pain started to get so bad I couldn't sleep (I know you know what I mean). I was working for a certified nutritionalist/chiropractor at the time. They have helped me so much that I continue to take them after all these years because I'm afraid not to. I did stop for a little while and tried another product (10 months or so) but the pain came back. Email me if you want to know more info. I am not a distributor so I'm not trying to sell them or anything, it is just what has been working for me.
How about a big fresh and dried fruit and candy basket? nm

Plants will attract gnats, as will ripe fruit.
If the gnats are congregated in one area, sticky bug cards will help catch them for you. Or you can kill them by spraying them directly with an ammonia-based cleaner like many glass-cleaning formulas.

The only thing that works for me is exercise and eating correctly! No quick fix, unfortunately.

I TRIED to work, WANTED to work, but
So now I have to scramble for the rest of the week, trying to catch up on what I didn't do today. And of course, working today was in hopes of catching up on whatI didn't do last week. This job is a never-ending hamster-wheel of lunacy.
Everyone has to work once in a while!
Normally in this industry, you are paid an incentive to work "holidays". When I was in-house, I was offered a day off other than the holiday I worked, which was great. I was also offered to only work a 4 hour day, in-house. At home, you should also be given an incentive for those holidays! Some people think that Martin Luther King Day is more important than Christmas because they may celebrate Kwanzaa. Some people feel that April Fool's Day is important, so they are willing to work Easter. It goes on and on... There will be times in your life when you have to make a choice, "one day off" or a career in the "medical field". I would have to agree that we are important especially on those holidays. For example, most hospitals and emergent care units are staffed with one doctor, so it should really be only STATs you are typing. It is hard to "choose" when you want to be "sick". Hence, our salary!!!!!!! Most people will work all kinds of crazy schedules to accomodate their own lives, so why be so uptight about working Christmas because your employer requires coverage. On the other hand, this should be rotated amongst a pool of typists. I worked with a lady that would always volunteer for Thanksgiving (she had no family), so she could have Christmas off just to make us all mad! She'd say "well, I've worked the last 10 Thanksgivings, so I deserve Christmas off! It was so sad! Hmmmpphh! :) Good luck! Have a nice holiday (no matter how you spend it)!
He did see my dog and work him up sm
and everything came back negative. I'm going to push him more on Tuesday when I call him. I like our vet a lot-have been using him for years with all of my dogs and so far he hasn't steered me wrong. I'm just not sure I want to wait much longer on getting him some medication. The poor little guy suffers so and it just scares the heck out of us. I mean, there isn't anything we can do but hold him and ride it out and just be there when he comes out of it. I just haven't had to deal with anything like this before.
Nah, I do it, too, the more I work, the more I do it.
on vacation, notsomuch!
Does this work?
testing
Both will work actually.
For people who want to learn about something, anything, Google is a great tool. If you want to get into semantics about it though, personally I have real-life, first-hand experience with these critters called OTTBs. That stands for off-track thoroughbreds. They live until their late 20's and sometimes into their 30's and that is rarely taken into consideration by the racing industry, who I feel should kick in a little cash at birth, for every single horse they register with Jockey Club, to ensure that these animals can be cared for, for the rest of their lives. Oh wait...that would put a crimp in the breeders bottom line though, wouldn't it.
I used to work
with someone who would say the quirkiest things. got on my nerves.
And I used to work with someone who had
a stick up their rectum and made everyone's lives mundane.
No, not every day and get this- I only work
part-time. She is always available when I want her to come over, can stay the night if I am working later, whenever I want her. You are probably going to start throwing rocks but my pay to her is anywhere from 50-75 dollars a day, depending on what she does, any extra things I have her do like cleaning the closets, putting up seasonal clothes, other than the regular clothes washing and the house cleaning (she does not iron on a regular basis but if I need something special, she would do that)- she used to cook for us but my hubby does that now. I DO NOT want to quit even my part time position- heck my husband might think I had the time to do housework too and ugh!!
Never during work...
I don't get that. They could buy a lot more if they only shopped on the off hours ;)
That might work if
He would actually go. I can only do so much to make him go. He is the most stubborn man in the world!!
It might work
to cover the parts of the couch they are scratching because cats tend to return to the same spot. If you cover the couch completely, they may go under the cover unless it's secured. If you prefer the cats stay completely off the couch, you could use Scat Mats. They give a little shock from a battery when touched.
Good luck. I've declawed cats before to save the furniture, and they never have the same muscle strength in their upper body after they lose the claws. I've switched to dogs because dogs listen, LOL.
I do work for PS and this is the one - sm
operation she does not like doing, says it leaves horrible scars. She does them but shows many before/after pics and actually has the patient talk to others that have had it done before she will do it for them. They go into it with their eyes wide open. So if you do get it re-done be prepared (that is if a Dr. will re-do you anyway).
