I too love to cook and bake!
I know this sounds plain and simple, but with 100 people, you can save some headaches, and emphasize on decorating cupcakes. Cupcakes are so in right now. Maybe you can make some chocolate, some white, or other flavor, and decorate with a nice icing, and some decorations.
Another easy way to go for a large crowd is fill chocolate cups with a strawberry mousse and a strawberry on top, fresh blueberries, etc. You can get these things at Smart N Final. Valentine cookies are always popular too. Make sugar cookies in the shape of various size hearts, and then have some friends over to decorate them, and put each in a clear plastic bag with a pretty ribbon.

I know deserts are usually over done at pot lucks but I love them! I also like to bake and it gives me a reason to do so. I also like to make pasta salad for summer events or twice baked mashed potatoes with roasted garlic, bacon, cheese, etc.
Pies and deserts
What kind of pies and deserts do you have for Turkey Day? Home made or frozen or store bought?
Me - Homemade pecan and pumpkin. Completely from scratch, even roast the pumpkin. Must have real whipped cream to go along with it too. We are going to my MIL/FIL for the holiday and they are only having apple and cherry pie. I just couldn't bear the thought of no pumpkin or pecan so I'm bring those along with me.
Couple of easy delicious deserts
Go to eaglebrand.com and put in chocolate rasberry cheescake -- easy to make and I get more compliments on this than anything I have evey brought to a party. And I make from scratch all the time but this is so easy and especially men love it. Another one is a apple/spice cake from Betty Crocker web page. Kids love this one. You basically add a can of apples -- though I substitute fresh apples, cook them like you would for a compote instead of the canned -- in the mix and it is so goooooooooooooooood. All of my nephews and nieces ask that I make it when I come to a family gathering. So there are a couple. But I do a lot of search on web pages and on the Food Network and find wonderful recipes. Men & Valentine's Day....
Valentine's Day is next week, as we all know. Everyone knows women love flowers, jewelry, etc.
Guys don't. Guys don't even always like to make a big deal about the day.
My question is what they really like to get or do for valentines day?
Any ideas?
Did you get a Valentine?
DH was extremely good to me this year, like no other.
First, I got my tires. Not romantic but at the top of my list!
Then, on top of that he got me a Brita water pitcher and a Coldplay CD, "Viva LA Vida". I'd been wanting both for months but didn't buy them while we still had the house in WI for sale. 
Actually my Valentine's Day is most every day
Hubs did the weekend before buy me a new TV for my workroom and it is so great, Panasonic, 32 inch and looks like HD with just cable. I am surprised because the picture is so clear. This was an early birthday present for March but he is just a real, loving person and he makes me laugh every day of the year. Treats me with much respect and I just could not see me without him. Except for Christmas and birthdays we mostly do not celebrate but every day is a blessing with him.
Valentine's plans?
Well, I just got my son a few things off e bay for webkinz (secret codes intact), got my husband a coupon book to put in a card (the ones that say the "special" things to do that he can redeem, you know those). So, I'm done for valentine day. Otherwise, can't stand the idea of the day. Here I am crabbing again, like around Christmas. Valentine's day and New Year's Eve, waste of time to me. The only thing I like about Valentine's day are the sales on candy the day after to stock up for Easter LOL (not the obvious hearts, but you know). Anybody doing anything good or have plans for that day, or do you all feel like me "greeting card holiday."

Valentine's Day always makes me sooooo glad
Here we are, just recovering from Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa, etc., and here comes another holiday that pressures us to go out and buy, buy, buy. I like holidays that don't require you do do anything.

I don't like wording of "serving", but if you like cooking, there is nothing wrong with that. Chores should be shared and there is no such thing as "man chores or woman chores". It is whatever you enjoy doing. Men do like to cook (mine does) and I do clean, but if you enjoyed mowing the lawn, there is nothing wrong with that. If you start to get taken advantage of, you will know it fast. Then you can discuss it.
I would most certainly give husband Valentine and birthday cards. Most men love that sort of thing. Nothing wrong with showing your love.
Need meaningful ideas for Valentine Present for husband, everything is geared up for the ladies!! nm
