Don't you dare get her one!
If on principal only! The fact that she has been hounding you for something for weeks is just so wrong. Read about the thread about the stressed out mother whose daughter has grown up to be out of control because she always got everything she wanted by simply applying pressure. Be a parent, not a friend, and say NO!
HOW DARE YOU! She said she DID before she knew this (sm)
How rude of you to tell her to get a clue!! Very mean!! Why does somebody have to be mean in every thread?????
The Love Dare
Thanks for the post on here about Fireproof! I saw the movie & it was GREAT! moved me to tears!!! I didn't know that they actually wrote a book "The Love Dare" till I looked it up on the Internet! I am definitely buying that book! Has anybody read the book??? let me know your thoughts on it please
PJ's/sweats for sure....
I only get dressed when I have to leave the house to be seen in public...other than that I wear PJs/sweats...I do put on makeup though, makes me feel better, but hair definitely goes in a ponytail...I had holes in my sweats and I told hubby I needed to get some new work pants---LOL...
PJs or sweats for me
IMO, for some of us this may well be the only benefit we have as IC MTs.
I say, if I'm going to put up with all the stuff we have to put up with, I will at least be comfortable while doing so.
How dare you say I resent my children
I do spend every night reading to my children. I also tuck them in and rub their backs every night. I get up every morning to prepare them a warm breakfast before driving them to school so they don't have to ride a cold school bus in the morning. My kids are all on the high honor roll because my husband and I help them with their homework. I volunteer at their school once a week. My husband and I attends every sporting event with them, be it practice or a match, to make sure no harm comes to them. I make sure they have a hot meal on the table when they come home from school. I worked extra all summer to afford a trumpet for my son who wanted to join the elementary band. I don't resent my children. I love them very much.
But I do resent others critiquing my parenting abilities. I'm sure OP's DS and DD do a lot more than OP is giving them credit for. It's terrible for the kids to have fish sticks and yogurt, but it's okay for GP to spank them? She's complaining because DD and DS don't hit them, they just yell at them? Where are your scruples? It's obvious these parents love their children, they just need a little help, not criticism. Why is that so hard to understand? Do parents not deserve a break?
So many GPs have the mentality, "you made 'em, you raise 'em" and that's fine. No one said GPs should be raising their GKs, but is it that wrong to think that GPs could give the parents a break even just once a year? Maybe they'd be better parents if they weren't as stressed all the time.
Hot/cold sweats
I have been having worsening hot/cold sweats for months. They are very embarassing. I don't think they are hormonal. Had hysterectomy in 1999 and had those hot sweats for a while, then went away. Not on any hormones. These sweats happen with no warning, nothing, just all of a sudden get very flushed, hands feet cold, and sweat profusely head and face, Im talking sweat running down my face. Docs dont know and are not really concerned about, but I have not really pushed the issue, but am ready too. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I have thought it could be a side effect of a med, but I have been on the same meds for years. If anybody has any answers I would sooooooo appreciate it.
Insomnia from night sweats
Well, I have to admit to myself that I am entering menopause. I find myself waking up between 5-10 times per night with night sweats. Throw off covers, lift up T-shirt, try to cool off, drift to sleep, wake up freezing, pull down T-shirt, pull up covers. Ugh.
Any women on here with good herbal remedies for night sweats? Have been doing alot of reading and research and now am totally confused.
My doctor is no help at all. Will not even ask her.
Thank you.
sweats usually, unless I am not leaving the house and then PJs...

Saw someone one year in white sweats...
top and bottom, with crumpled up items all over them.....white trash. It won the contest at the hospital I worked at.
Oh, this gave me high BP!! How dare a school counselor......sm
Take it into HIS hands to pull the girl and administer any kind of test at all, he does not have the legal right. He SHOULD have quietly contacted the girl's parents, told them about the rumor, and then SHUT UP, made himself available for counseling, but leaving parenting/medical matters to the parents, where they belong. If this were my own daughter, I fear I would be so enraged by this type of arrogant, stupid, unprofessional, illegal, and disresepctul acivity that I would become a one-woman vasectomy machine, the hard way. Talk about emotional distress?? That poor young girl and her parents. I can remember my days in high school in the early-mid 70s, parents were brought in and respected. OMG, this kind of "rumor" went around every time some nasty girl had a "fight" with another girl, they would have been hiring buses to drag these girls out....truly sickening situation, I hope this young lady is okay now, and has healed emotionally from it all, and thank God it was not true at all, for her sake, poor thing!
