Unemployment

I've been working for a hospital for the past 9 months. Just been given until the end of this week to "get up to speed" or be canned. The last 2 doctors I can't get cleared on are ESL. I listen and relisten and just cannot get it. I had done transcription (other than ESL) for nearly 10 years and can't believe this is happening to me!
Can one get unemployment if fired?

CA Unemployment
California is under the same stimulus package as every other state. The stimulus package just increased benefits for another 20 weeks. I see no reason that she should no receive the benefits she paid into. Her having to move was no fault of her own and after all her husband is serving our country. Should we punish her because he got transferred. The state of Calif. is in such a mess because the UE rate in the state is over 12%.
I would say you would be eligible for unemployment -
xx
Anyone know how unemployment benefits work for state of CA? sm
I just do not understand how my SIL is able to even qualify for CA unemployment benefits when she left her job due to her husband being transferred to another state because of the military. She now resides in another state but says she will get close to 1K a month from CA in unemployment benefits for who knows how long. She is not really looking for work right now because she says the wages she is being offered are too low. This sounds mighty fishy to me! Anyone know how this can be possible?
I'd check with your state's unemployment department.
Likely they have better information than your co-worker. ;) They probably have a website with all the information about who is eligible, how to apply, etc.
Of course, if you don't like the job, there's really no reason to fight to stay on, if you can't meet their goals and expectations. And be sure to make a note of what you just said, about the working conditions, and the fact that the people aren't friendly certainly contributes to a hostile work environment.
Meanwhile... start perusing the "companies" section of this board (and the MT Companies section of MT Chat as well) to find names of companies that people like working for, hunt down their websites, and start applying online. And keep a list of the ones you apply to, when you applied, and what happened. You'll need that information if you are approved for unemployment, to prove you are job-searching.
I did what I just talked about above, and that was how I found my new job, after nearly 28 years working for a doc who closed his practice....
Best of luck, and keep us posted!
