Where would you bury it?
I watched a story about a couple named Bob & Amy Bosley. I didn't see the whole story, but evidently they stole money and hid it somewhere. Amy was convicted of murdering Bob and got a 20-year sentence.
Bob's mom got custody of their kids and said she supposes when Amy gets out of prison she'll dig up the money she hid.
It got me to wondering....what kind of hiding place is safe for 20 years? I mean, I could sure dig a big hole in my yard, but who's to say that yard would still be mine in 20 years?
Federal land? A lake or a river?
Take him home and bury him. Worked for vet, this
x
Bury it in a shoebox in the back yard. LOL. Seriously?? sm
I would put it into gold and precious metals. Gold at one time was the coin of the realm and will be again. Cash only will the the way go to. Especially with the economy tanking the way it is and the fact that our state has the highest unemployment rate in the country at 8%+. I don't trust anybody with my money.
Most people would assume mom was cremated and waiting to bury urn
at least that's what I think.
litter box
?
Where do you keep your cat's litter box?
And what do you put under/around it to catch the stray litter that gets dragged out?
Mine is in the laundry room which is in the back of the house. I'm not looking to move it, but I am looking for ideas to keep the litter somewhat contained. My fatkitty just gets in there and tosses the stuff around. He is sooo messy!
Litter Box Issues
She is showing classic signs of a UTI. She should be checked out by a vet as urinary issues can be deadly in cats if not treated as soon as possible.
I live in the country and all my cats have always been indoor cats. One lived to the age of 21.
What is your reasoning for allowing her to roam outside? Is she UTD with vaccinations? (as in all her kitty vaccs, nothing more)
Maybe try a different kitty litter
We took in a stray some years ago. We had to get her to use a litter box because we were moving. She hated the litter box, but then we changed from regular kitty litter to Arm & Hammer Super scoop (the kind where the urine and poopies ball up and easy to pick out). The litter is soft and she really loves it (I think maybe also it was soft like the outside dirt she used to go in). As a side note, it smells great and when you walk in the house you cannot tell we have a cat or litter box.
New litter of kitties..in my CAR
So we were getting ready to go out last night and as my son is getting in the car, he sees one of the outdoor cats under the front seat...in the process of giving birth. (I left my window down after telling everyone else to keep theirs up so the cats would stay out!) I now have 4 teeny tiny kittens under my car seat. My question is would be all right to move them? Thankfully I don't have anywhere to go this morning. I've had a lot of cats over the years, but never ran into this before.
Megamother, litter of 14
I saw her and was thinking how much more could she possibly try to look like Angelina Jolie, the hair, the enhanced lips? Megamamma is going to have interview tomorrow morning but from what I have heard already don’t feel like I will climb out of bed early to hear. Now the doctor responsible for that fiasco is being investigated. This mamma is unemployed, living in a 3 bedroom home with her mother and father who filed for bankruptcy last year with a total of 14 kids? Six kids were far too much for that small of a home much less 14. I care not what she says, love alone does not provide for even the basic of needs of this army. In watching television they have shown some of what the interview is going to be like and the women sounds like she really, really needs some professional help. If family and children services are not involved, I think they are going to have to delve deeply into this case.
not covering litter
I was told cats who do not cover in the litter box were taken away from their mother too soon, the mother teaches them to cover. I have five cats and all cover except one, my Himalayan, stray I trapped, but I bet he wasn't always a stray, and he probably was sold too young. Just a possible explanation.
So precious...now about this litter for dogs
What is the name of it and where can I find it? I have never heard of litter for dogs. This is just the best news I have heard all day!
I think you were supposed to use CLEAN, NEW cat litter! nm
x
Amen Sister! She is totally unrealistic! Totally. Loved your post! sm
My grandparents (from VT), will tell you that my grandfather began farming at 6-7 under the supervision of his 10 year old brother. haha No major incidents - his mother tended the home and ran a nursery and she did have the siblings watch over each other. I didn't even think about all of this until you mentioned the farming post. I loved it!
I, for one, need plenty of sleep - so I must work during the day while they are here...Oops, I gottah go! My 2 year old just fell off the kitchen table.
just kidding
We got a kitten about a month ago. She was litter box trained and... SM
used her litter box just fine, but out of the blue she has pooped on one of my blankets, peed in my laundry basket, and this evening peed on my bath towel right in front of me! I had just gotten out of the shower, taken the towel off and dropped it in the floor and when I turned around, she was peeing on it!
What is up with that? I don't know much about cats being that I'm more of a dog person, but she doesn't act sick and she's playful. I just don't get it!
Clumping litter does not require a liner
Mine hated any lining in their box and tore it scratching to cover anyway. I use clumping litter only, which doesn't require a liner. Litter absorbs it before it hits the bottom. Cats can be finicky about the types of litter. I left A&H alone because of the dust it has, even thought it's not supposed to have. I use Tidy Cat, clumping type, and they go for that with no problem.
The not so nice furry has had a litter of kittens
but age wise, not so sure about that. The people at the HS probably do not know also, she might have been a stray. I am really surprised she was out at the back of my house last night, out again today as she had only been here inside for such a short period. My coworker and I are going to get a trap from the shelter and get her fixed and hopefully then let her be happy as a mouser. I hate the fact she will have to be outside for awhile. My felines all inside, never out and not only dogs around but also cat eating coyotes and I am in the city limits. People here told to keep animals up.
It doesn't matter "where you stand." What works for you is fine. What works for me is fine.
Comparing ourselves as to frequency is ridiculous.
Totally, totally agree.
You feel inadequate and no matter what you do - you feel like it is not enough - and that is depression. Get on some medication, or get some therapy and start taking time for yourself and enjoy life. Been there and done that myself - STOP FEELING GUILTY - you deserve better!!
I'd go with either kitty litter buckets or 5-gallon white buckets.
My MIL tried milkjugs but her plants got too big.
Here's a good picture similar to what I do. Hope the link works.

It has only been two weeks, it will get better.
Maybe do more fun things with your kids, as they're probably upset right now too. You are lucky to have them and four is a blessing. And for yourself, how about joining a bowling league, a gym, or taking a craft or cooking class etc....just something to occupy your time and meet other adults and new friends. You may even meet others in the same situation and that always helps. And always remember how much better your kids lives will be in the long run being out of that kind of situation. That may help you to not be tempted to take your husband back because you are lonely, because that does happen and it's understandable. It's a long time to be with someone. Best of luck to you.
Yes, used now for over 3 weeks and
think it smells good, other than that I have not seen any change at all in the hair situation, still falling out.....
Only used them for about 1-2 weeks when they - sm
were newborns. Personally I don't think they should be used for long at all or they become dependent on them (tops 2-3 months when newborn). I know someone who has a 3-y/o who walks about with one in his mouth 24/7; can't understand him at all even when he does take it out of his mouth to talk, major speech issues I think because of it. I feel bad for him, angry with her for being lazy and not trying to get him to transfer his need for a security object to something less destructive. One of mines has a doll and blanket that are her security things, and the other and old teething toy that is a cat from Right Start with all the rubber "feet" cut off, still sleeps with it at 8, both are well-behaved and mentally developed kids with no issues of any sort.
I used to get one every 2 weeks...
I just called a local service and had 2 sisters come every other Friday. We paid them $75 plus $10 tip. We just now cancelled the service and decided to put that money in our savings account and do the cleaning ourselves:-) We had to get the house totally cleaned up anyway the night before, which was pretty stressful. It was good, though, for the year we did it. They brought their own equipment and dusted and cleaned the whole house except for the basement. We'll use them for parties like the one we're having this month, but that's it. Just check your local paper and call a few. Ask questions to see if they fit your needs. You can have them come every day if you want, once a week, every 2 weeks, or once a month, whatever you need. Good luck!
I have someone come every two weeks
She does basic cleaning - dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms. I pay her $75 each time. She has basically a one-woman business that she is just getting started up. I found her listing in the local newspaper and lucked out, because she is a really super lady and I enjoy having her here to talk to, since my husband and I are "empty-nesters" and I am home alone working all day.
As far as what you should pay, I think the area where you live and the cost of living needs to be taken into consideration. I would expect to pay someone in New York City or Los Angeles more than I would pay someone in a small Midwest town, for example.
Just my two cents.
I go to one every 3-4 weeks - sm
and when I was looking for one I asked a friend who went to one on a regular basis. As stated below there are the rip-off ones who do all this fancy garbage that does absolutely nothing. My friend said to go to a "straight" chiropractor (no clue what that means, guess it is how they practice, and one that graduated from Palmer school of Chiropracty (Sp?), pretty sure it was Palmer, if I am wrong I will post a correction. Mine is very reasonable, $45 a visit (my insurance covers it 100%). I too started out 2-3 x a week, then tapered down to 1 a week, then every 2 weeks, and now do every 3-4 weeks. I have not been for about 8 weeks now because I hurt my shoulder but it is all better now so I will probably start going again. It feels great to get the back cracked, gets so tight from sitting here all the time.
I think just a few weeks at most ... sm
I don't intend to keep the car for long. Last night we had decided until the end of the semester. After talking with it I am waffling about taking it at all. I am sure he will have it back by Thanksgiving. Thank you.
I had a bag of those a few weeks ago (sm)
My dogs finished them. So far so good. So then I bought the name brand ones this weekend at Sam's. $12.00. Evidently they are not the ones recalled, but I went and looked at the bag, and it says, "Made in China", so out they go. I can't believe I forgot to look - lately I have been looking at everything. Even if it's made in US, I'm usually afraid because of the wheat gluten, etc, that is imported. Good luck with your dog. Hope he is okay.
Just ate there 2 weeks ago - sm
WONDERFUL!!!!! This is the third Emeril's we have eaten at. We ate at one in New Orleans and one in Atlanta and now the one in Gulfport (used to live in Biloxi, so we are trying to support their rebounding economy). We always eat 4 courses and are never disappointed. ENJOY! Worth every penny!
3-1/2 weeks!
That sounds like a wonderful vacation. . I'm taking off a few days too and I'm really looking forward to it.. Hope you have a great time!
2 weeks
as it sounds like routine blood work. If no call by the 23rd I would call the office and leave a message and then you will probably hear back on that Monday.
2 weeks?
I just had bloodwork last Thursday and I got the results on Monday. I guess it just depends on the physician/lab. They used Quest Diagnostics.
I am 43....just, B-day was about 3 weeks ago- sm
My DH is 6.5 years older than I am and dying to retire. He keeps telling me at 55 he is done. He will then go out and get a PT job somewhere, probably at $7.50 an hour, just to stay active and bring in some money. I want him to keep working until he is 62 at least then one kid is done college anyway, and we will be able to sock away quite a bit in the 7 years that we have no mortgage and have for mad money, home improvements, save for kid's weddings (they are going to get 10K each and that will be it--can do what they wish with it, but that is the gift--not going to be one of those nutty parents who blow $25K on their kid's wedding--I did it for 5K, everything including honeymoon in 1996, so can they). But in 5 years the house will be paid off (2013), as well as our loan to pay off his debt. I may or may not be done with mine at that time. So there is a goal and it will be nice to be out of debt then, though our monthly expenses now, mortgage, food, utilities, college funds, etc. come to $3400 a month---luckily combined bring in about $4300 a month currently. I go for testing on the 15th for an administrative asst. position for a neighboring county sheriff. Want the job but on the other hand don't want to change my current schedule, etc. But it would be nice to have a nice steady paycheck coming in.
I go about every 3 weeks when I can - sm
I did not go for like six months and just went about 3 weeks ago. I just go when I have a little spare time anymore which is not too often. I went initially because of a car accident, very stiff neck and shoulders, went once a week, then every two weeks, now when I feel like it. Since I had not gone for a while my spine was sore for a day or two, but it does make me feel better as I get so stiff sitting here working 6-10 hours a day. Need to start exercising too, I am sure that will help too. As for dissing chiropractors there are good and bad, there are the ones who rape you with all the different machines they put you on (been to one of them, racked up $800 in 3 days), or those (as a friend swears to) are called "straight" chiropractors who attended Palmer Chiropractic school, who don't stick it to you. My visit is $45, lasts 10-15 mins, and my insurance pays for the it, no co-pay for some reason. She ends up with $36 in the end and I do not have to pay the difference. But just tell him you will be starting to come in once a month or so from now on, what is he going to do, tell you to go somewhere else as the is unacceptable to him?
He will be in about two weeks (sm)
I am going through with the separation and in fact have signed a six month lease and paid a deposit and first month's rent, so no turning back now! Thank you for your encouragement the other day and everyone else too. I do know that what he did was wrong, I was just having some grief over the "dream" I had coming to an end. I went to a board on cafemom and talked to some others who have been in abusive relationships. Apparently it is very normal for anyone divorcing to feel grief and doubt, but from what I hear, I will be feeling much happier once I am out and away from the relationship. Thanks for checking on me :)
Usually I would think about 1-2 weeks,
especially if they sent them out. What did your doctor say about calling for the results?
I just had this 2 weeks ago... (sm)
It's called pyelonephritis, and yes, you need to go to the ER. If you can't take Levaquin, they might know of something else, but still.
I'm taking something that decreases my immunity (according to the ER doc - I had never known that about Plaquenil before), and I didn't go through the high fevers, but it seemed more like it was because my body couldn't fight back with a fever. It actually made sense when the ER doc explained it, which is totally weird because the ER doc was a jerk otherwise.
Anyway, I hope you feel better VERY soon!
I told everyone at 6 weeks...
then waited to tell son when we had first ultrasound...
Ultrasound at 7 weeks?
Ack - I didn't realize docs were doing these so soon. There are so many variables in pregancies (and children) that I wouldn't be too concerned. But, after all the ultrasound horror stories that I have heard over the years, we skipped ultrasounds with both of our children. I had normal pregnancies and there was no reason to have one.
I measured completely different with both of my children through my pregnancies and with good reason, the first was 10 pounds 4 ounces, the second was 7 pounds 14 ounces.
I hope everything is fine, please let us know.
It is probably that engineer from a few weeks ago
the one that wanted extra cash because she could "type good." LOL
I started WW 4 weeks ago...
I actually NEVER cook. My kids are picky eaters, and they both are picky about different things, so we eat mostly TV dinners.
With WW, you can eat anything. You calculate "points" based on calories, fiber, and fat grams. You get a certain amount of points each day based on your weight. You also get 35 cheat points per week. If you are still hungry, you can earn points by exercising.
In 4 weeks, I've lost 6.6 pounds and I haven't felt like I was dieting even once. I wish I would have done their program years ago.
If you do cook, you can go on their website and use E-Tools to calculate points. You can enter your own recipe into the online calculator, and it will tell you how many points it is.
Right now they have a special where you don't have to pay the initial start-up fee and you get free E-Tools for $40 a month. That's what I'm doing now, and I plan to stay at it until I lose all the weight.
Good luck with whichever program you decide.
I have a maid come in every two weeks sm
She has her own business. I just lucked out - she advertised in the paper, I talked to her on the phone and then she came over and gave me an estimate and she seemed like a very nice, responsible person. She has been cleaning for me for about three months now and she does a great job and is indeed a very nice person.
I have a two-bedroom, two-bath house that is about 1800 square feet and I pay her $75 each time she cleans.
How much exercise have you had in the last 3 weeks?
The kind of exercise where your rib cage actually has to expand as far as it can go?
That kind of exercise causes relaxation, and relaxation is an antidote for anxiety attacks.
I was also helped by learning relaxation with biofeedback and I also take Effexor. Not everybody can take that though.
It's only been on the market 2 weeks
nm
Or eat the 2 weeks and get professional from here.
x
I definitely needed him a few weeks ago.
Definitely HOT. What did you think of the season finale?
For the last two weeks I have been listening
to Christmas music in my car. Don't know why, but I was in the mood for some Manheim Steamroller, even if it is a little early in the year. I have to say that when I listen to the Hallelujah Chorus on this particular CD it makes everything that is wrong in my life seem so insignificant. I love this group's music. It just makes you happy.
Merry Christmas, a little early!
I think about 6 weeks is the norm sm
My first and last both wear able to newborn size about 6 weeks. I probably would have upped their size sooner had I not had so many newborn diapers. They were both about 7 pounds at birth. My second child was 8 pounds 6 ounces and didn't wear newborns for more than a week.
I would definitely get the size 1 instead of the newborn. Of course, you could always call the new mom or maybe the grandmom and ask. But I agree that it's better to go up a size and have to wait a week or 2 to wear them than to get the wrong size and not be able to use them.
yeah i second that. it has taken 2 weeks for me
to get video games for my kids before. The holidays will make it take longer too!!
bloated after 12 weeks...
I got bloated somewhere around the end of the first trimester/beginning of second trimester. My pants hurt me sooo bad. I got some really uncomfortable stomach pains because of it. I finally had to break down and buy a couple of pairs of maternity pants. I was far enough along that I knew it was going to happen (buying pants) at some point in the next couple of months and it did not matter. Comfort is #1 in pregnancy, and if you want a pair of pants you can go out in and not feel embarrassed about, get some prego pants. I still wear those pants I first bought in my third trimester.
Really odd. I had a cold about 3 weeks ago and got another one now and a lot of
other people are having the same problem. This is very unusual for me to have this happen. Not much fun! I really dont get around many people at all so I have no idea where they are coming from.
