Topaz, the ingredients you use make my mouth water
Posted By: That sounds marvelous on 2009-03-23
In Reply to: I practically live on pasta salads. (sm) - Topaz
Most everything, the olives, artichokes, chicken or tuna and the dressing (home made in my case as hubs makes) just is right up my alley. I just finished some chicken salad hubs made yesterday (he had baked a chicken a day or so before and had left over chicken so had to put that to some good use). I am so spoiled. For dinner yesterday my daughter over and he fixed 2 kinds of spaghetti sauces, 1 white garlic sauce with shrimp and the other heavily tomatoed with garlic. What you describe above is exactly like I love to eat! Good both ways, like you say.

Make sure you're getting all your water in and
up your fat a bit. You are in benign ketosis which is what you want to be in if your goal is to lose weight on low carb. Just make sure you're getting enough water and a good multivitamin. Sometimes your electrolytes can get out of balance, but should be easy enough to correct.
I like an inside water fountain or a water wall. Saw it on

Dog food ingredients..sm
One of my dogs has a corn allergy - causes sneezing, wheezing, coughing, skin welts with itching. I also stay away from meat and poultry by-products. I used to order his food from Drs Foster and Smith. After a long search, I finally found a dog food I can buy at Tractor Supply that meets his needs, and they have a weight management formula too - he is about 10 pounds overweight.
food ingredients
Honestly if you try to examine the ingredients in almost everything these days, crushed bugs sounds harmless by comparison what with all the toxins, preservatives and other chemicals poured into manufactured food. It's no wonder cancer is everywhere - we are a toxic wasteland.
Food ingredients
Ever since my daughter became a vegetarian a few years ago she is always looking at what's in foods so she can avoid anything with animal products in it. She won't chew certain gum because it has animal bones in it. The same with jello. If you look at how they make gelatin you'd never eat it. Yuck!
pet food ingredients
Google commercial pet food ingredients, that is what is causing your problem, go all natural holistic human grade and grain free food and your problem will be solved.
I love her recipes, but WAY too many ingredients
I had a bunch of her books but ended up selling them on ebay cuz I never had all the ingredients on hand and didn't want to spend a fortune getting them.
commercial pet food ingredients
I have posted this before, thought I would post it again for those who had not seen it.
The foods you describe are of low grade ingredients, and certainly not human grade, if you want to learn more, please take the time to look at the below link.
I have tested this myself. I feed Innova a grain-free product to my 4 cats. I have had to switch to a commercial brand rarely because of availability issues and I find they eat double of the commercial brand over the high quality brand. I feed 2 cups of Innova dry a day, when I have had to switch in the past, I have had to up that by 4 cups a day of the regular grocery commercial food because they are having to eat more to fulfill their nutritional requirements, so you really do come out even in the long run, plus you are providing human grade nutrition to your loved companions. It also helps cut down on vet bills because your companions will be healthier in the long run. I hope this helps.

Unusual food ingredients
Have you ever stopped eating a particular food because you found out what was in it. I've just stopped eating yogurt that is red in color (strawberry, raspberry, etc). Found out they get the red coloring from crushed bugs.

Disgusting to me.....
sounds like mixing flamable ingredients...
both these dogs have bred-in tendencies towards violence. Its part of their nature. Not to say it can't work, but personally, i would not try it. But then, i wouldn't have either of these breeds either.
Do you have really hard water? Maybe leaving water spots from lime, calcium, etc.? Or are the spots

thank you. I probably should have just kept my mouth
closed. As I stated, I was venting. I found out that my husband has to work on Christmas Day and I was very frustrated at that particular moment. Maybe I learned my lesson though and will keep my mouth shut from now on. I didn't realize that it would turn into such a controversial thread and I apologize for that. Have a blessed Christmas!
Btw, he used his mouth but not in the way you would

Now my mouth is really watering
and you know I love a regular hamburger also with lots of olives and, like you, those grilled onions. We usually have the red as they seem to agree with our stomachs more. I used to love Krystal hamburgers but the last 1 (yeh right, more like 4) I ate, I really paid for those little onions on them.
Well, actually, watching everything you put into your mouth is not
really living, is it?!?! I agree with your post to a point, I think most people try to eat healthy these days, but personally I enjoy a Big Mac supersize meal with a Coke, an entire bag of chips or a HUGE slab of cheesecake once in a while. Gotta live a little ;)
From the mouth of babes!
My three year old daughter and I were making breakfast. I poured her bowl of oatmeal, which was steaming hot. She gingerly picked up the bowl, with the aid of oven mitts, and carried it over to the open window, where a gentle breeze was blowing in, and set it on the window sill. Whilte putting it down, she said, "I think I'll let God blow on this for awhile, okay Mom?"
With foot & mouth going around, I'd
call the answering service number and ask the MD on call if it can wait.
If they were just clear blisters I'd guess it was a contact dermatitis, but the blood would make me act on this.
Foot-in-mouth-disease
At one time or another we have all suffered from it. Sometimes, things just pop out of our mouths before we have had a chance to edit them. What was probably a poor attempt at conversation turned out to be an embarrassing situation for both of you. Accept his apology and move on.
I get mine taken off Sep. 26. In the beginning your whole mouth sm
feels weird, your lips feel swollen, and you do "feel" ugly when you open up your mouth. I don't even remember they are on anymore.
It's a small price to pay since you will yield great results in the end.
For me, I have clear on top and metal on the bottom. The problem I have is keeping them white since I love colas and teas - they stain easily, so I always rince with cold water after drinking tea or soda.
I see you are complaining about how you look and not about how you feel. The first 2 weeks I couldn't even eat! It was probably the most painful think I've ever experienced with intense jaw and teeth pain and I've had 3 children!
In any case, good luck!
PS: The office who takes care of my braces say that 50% of their patients are adults.
My mouth is watering just thinking about
these recipies. The ones with the chicken roll ups and the lemon pepper both have ingredients that appeal to me. Send the recipies. For 2, heck, I would make for ME.
I would have sent his smart mouth home
when he did it again after the first warning.
I have four kids in my house that I have to deal with every day. If one of them even thought they could get away with that because their friend did..... I would be in BIG trouble!
Maybe a little chat with his parents is in order. Just let them know that you will not tolerate backtalk from your kids and certainly not from their friends. So if it happens again, you will be bringing him home immediately, day or night.
If you have to do that once, it will definitely get the message across to the smart mouth and I bet he would be very careful not to do it again.
how can you spit stuff like this out your mouth?
"stepping over the body of the same child if it dies of starvation or child abouse after its been brought into the world?"
wtf does that even mean!
Eyes, nose, and mouth - nothing else
I know I should use a moisturizer, but I don't (just plain ol lazy). I know I should also wash my face every day but I don't (again lazy). So only the obvious is on my face.
Wash your mouth out! Tiffany's is not garbage!
!!
Right, but a lot do apply Botox around the mouth area and
on top of this they get collagen injecting into their lips and then they get this fish-lip look with a masky face.
Especially aging actresses!
Eeeewww!
Wow! Tha't's gross! I hope she kept her mouth shut?..nm

My daughter has hand, foot and mouth disease
She has 4 ulcers in her mouth and, of course, is in pain and won't eat anything. I put some cereal and milk in the blender this morning and she drank that okay, but her poor little mouth is really painful. We tried the saltwater rinses, but that didn't help. We have been using Orajel on the biggest sore, but was wondering if anyone has any other ideas for pain relief. She's been coping pretty good with the blisters on her hands and feet so far, but this is only the 2nd day. Hopefully, this will be over soon. Thanks for any help!
It is Lent so I am being honest - potty mouth without the kids.....sm
in private, I let RIP at times, it just feels good and releases a lot of tension, and of course right after I say a "forgive me god," which is so hypocritical, but he made me Latin and with a simmering temper, so what else can I say. Never in front of kids, my elders, mainly alone.
I always carry hand sanitizer and I don't hesitate to cover my mouth / nose sm
if someone starts coughing. I don't care if anyone looks at me oddly - i don't like breathing in their germs. Also think about upping your vitamin intake, to support and boost your immunse system.
Ditto! Agree she can't keep her mouth shut, remember the Kelly Ripa thing?

Ended up taking her to stat care last night...not hand foot and mouth. sm
Ended up that she had an allergic reaction to a Chestnut tree that she had been playing on!!! She had a few on her toes because she had been wearing sandles and was climbing on a fallen tree. She was picking the leaves and "seeds" and picking them open. The oil from the tree gave her a reaction and caused the blisters to form. Thanks for asking...and thanks to all who answered my first post!
I lived in Montana for two years. Every time I opened my mouth, they said, "What part
of the South are you from? I said, "Golly bum, South Carolina".
Despise that wide-open mouth yawn right in front of my face w/o a hand or arm up to cover it.

At that rate, I could make in a week what I make

Some say it's the water...
and they are cooked in salted water - some are not. They have a crusty-hard outside and a moist middle. And they're huge. They really are the best! :)
Ice Water, sm
Soak apples in ice water and a little salt. Kabobs would be a great idea but not sure about the wooden skewers.
no where to put the water?
ever consider the toilet? Lot's of other nasty stuff goes down ther:)
Yes, usually when I get water in my ear, that happens.
I put a few drops of alcohol in my ear and it goes away.
Water is not the only --sm
source of fluoride though. It is in our toothpastes, mouthwashes, and probably a number of other items you would never suspect. You have to be proactive and check labels on EVERY thing to avoid it. This forced consumption of fluoride brings to mind the long suppressed addictiveness of nicotine in tobacco and the health implications that caused. I feel sometimes that having fluoride forced upon the unwitting public could possibly be in the same category. Flouride is in all actuality a rat poison, used many years ago for that reason only. It hardens bones (osteoporosis??) but I am doubtful about any other health *benefits* of it. I think there are many more risks involved in its use than the unwitting public will ever be made aware of and a lot of information about it being suppressed as well.
Some ants come in for water as much
or more than food. I have heard they don't like to walk thru talcum powder. You can put a circle of it around pet water bowls if that is the draw for them. See if you can find where they are coming in, both the inside entry point and the outside. Plug holes with silicone caulk or expanding caulk like STUFF. A natural product is diamateous earth (not the kind used for pools, though). Use only outside, or it may be okay in crawlspace, but not sure. You don't want to breathe it, so wear a mask while pouring. Once it is down it harmless to people and pets, but when hard-bodied insects walk through it, the texture tears their exoskeletons up and kills them. But it is washed away by rain, so very expensive. Depends on how rainy your climate is as to whether it will work for you.
If they get caught, off goes their water!
Have my shutters open this morning and I see my next door neighbor starting to water her lawn. We are in a drought really bad here and the water is being rationed, so to speak. No one waters on Sunday (and Sunday as I write) and we have an odd, even day system when we do water through the week. Atlanta, which is close by, has gone to a 1 day a week watering system. Some places in my state have turned off water to people caught abusing this. I remember in the 80s we had such a drought our showers were limited to 5 minutes. I would hope it does not get that bad again.
They use saline, right? Not just water.
Saline sprays don't bother me at all.
hot water cornbread
WARNING: I do everything by eye....a pinch here, a smidgeon there...I just throw it all in a bowl and guesstimate.
Ya make 'em kinda like pancakes in a cast iron skillet on the stove and it doesn't heat the house up as much as baking.
Boil at least a cup of water in the microwave
Put about 1 to 2 cups of self-rising cornmeal in a bowl. Add 1 beaten egg and mix thoroughly. Then you add the boiling water in bits, slowly mixing it until the right consistency....not thin like pancakes.... kinda like what you would make for regular cornbread almost.
Heat skillet with about 1/8 to 1/4 inch oil heated med to med/hi.... then use a good sized serving spoon to dollop the mixture into the pan. Watch carefully and try not to burn
DO NOT, under any circumstances use jiffy mix.
After 25 years I've finally gotten it nearly right (darn Yankee that I am). Happy vows tomorrow!
Water 'em! (sm)
Hose them down outside, put them in the shower, or leave them out in the rain.
bluing and well water
I am on well water too. Have not used it most of my life but only the past 5 years so maybe that is part of my problem too! I don't know much about how it changes things. We do have a reverse osmosis system which is supposed to help remove rust and sulfur. Maybe I need the bluing too. More info on this would be appreciated! :) I also have allergies to most detergents so a brand name would be great!
thanks for the info. we have well water too. sm
we have a water softener, and filters. not sure if maybe that is helping my stuff dinge out. thanks for the info on the bluing!
Hot tap water - which is really very warm - sm
If it's too hot for your hands, it's too hot for the yeast.
I know I don't drink enough water...sm
I also have interstitial cystitis (chronic bladder inflammation) so I should definitely be drinking more water than I do. When I drink any carbonated drink, my bladder hurts the next day. I had a cystoscopy in September to diagnose this, and my bladder was all red and inflamed with little red pinpoint bleeding in it. When I do pee tests I have chronic white blood cells from the inflammation. So yes I would say I need to drink lots of water.
I go along with the filtered water--sm
It makes a HUGE difference in the way your coffee tastes. I turned my mother onto filtered water and she says she will never do it any other way. She even makes her icecubes with filtered water. Anyway, I am picky about my coffee as well and I buy Farmer Brothers. Around here, I can only buy it on line, as none of the stores carry it. I buy five one pound cans at a time, which is a little cheaper, with a flat rate shipping fee. It is supposed to be the kind of coffee that most restaurants use, which is why you can't get it in the stores. I do not like strong coffee. I cannot handle the caffeine and I do not like decaffeinated. Farmer Brothers has varying degrees of strength, as well as flavored coffees. I will also go along with a clean coffee maker, and don't forget to clean the pot, as well!
sometimes too much caffeine and not enough water..sm
I sometimes get these symptoms when I am actually sort of dehydrated from drinking too much caffeine containing products or alcohol and not enough water. I will then gulp lots of water and in a couple of days, I am fine again. I am very lax on drinking water, so it happens more often than I would like. Just a suggestion, though, not a "diagnosis."
Bottled Water
DH always buys Aquafina bottled water. I'm not crazy about it, because it seems to have a taste or after taste that I don't like.
What bottled waters do you like and is one better or healthier than another?
