Didn't want to hijack that thread. Have you been to 13moons.com? It's a store, but you can sign up for their newsletters. They send out newsletters for our holidays with different stuff in it, crafts, etc. They are really neat people. They always personally sign order sheets and throw in a freebie here and there if they run out of something. Merry winter! I love winter.

solstice
Only 19 more days until the days start getting longer....whew.....that is what we are celebrating at my house!
Also, happy upcoming SOLSTICE!
.
I'm counting the days 'til Solstice, as well.
Great time of year, too. You can enjoy the holiday season at it's most phrenetic, without having to actually take part in the craziness.
'Ring out, Solstice bells!'
I'm a Pagan, too. There's probably more of us
than most people (or even we) know, but then again, we don't feel the need to be running around pushing it in other people's faces. I have my own beliefs in how the universe works, and have my own nonbeliefs as well. I dont need people telling me what to believe, i pretty much just figure it out for myself as I go along in life.
What's wrong with being pagan?
I'm not a pagan, but what's wrong with paganism? (I am an atheist.)
Wow, what a Scrooge or should I say Pagan?

I am a pagan and I agree
I believe there is no tribute to Jesus in commercializing Christmas. If you are a Christian and follow the bible in John 4:23 it says “The true worshipers shall worship the Father in the spirit and in truth”, yet you go through the rituals and accept family traditions at the holidays as “truth” when in actuality it has nothing to do with a Jesus.
The Christmas tree was actually a symbol of the resurrection of a pagan god. The pagan sun worshippers would place a Yule log on their fire to symbolize that their pagan god, Nimrod, had died. The next day they would cut down an evergreen tree to stand in their homes to symbolize the resurrection of Nimrod through his son Tammuz. The green tree was a symbol of life and was decorated in red berries and small balls that represented the sun.
The actual birth date of the Christ child is not known. The date of Dec 25th was chosen by Pope Julius I. It seemed to be a convenient choice since Saturnalia (a celebration of the god Saturn), as well as all winter solstice festivals fell around the same time. Early Christians thought it an abomination to celebrate a pagan god, so they combined Saturnalia with their own holiday – the birth of the Christ child - and created a single celebration for their own uses.
Santa Claus is a mythological figure, also pagan. He was of Norse legend. The Norse believed that the goddess Hertha appeared in the fireplace and brought good luck to the home.
It is strange that a day never mentioned in the bible should become the so-called “Christian” holiday of the entire year. A day never celebrated by Yeshua the Messiah, or his apostles, or others.
So for all those who believe they are being “good Christians” by celebrating Jesus birthday on Dec 25th and going through all the rituals, you are actually honoring the pagan sun gods, and making a lot of stores lots of money.
Right, and pigs fly. You outed yourself as pagan by the way you
made your post.
Of course, but only with a pagan symbol avatar/picture and quote of an "incantation" : D
