Sincerely, it is very nice that you are able to do what you want work wise. However, not everyone has the options you and your husband had as far as the PT work when your first kid was born. For many female MTs, they are the main breadwinner in their families and the husband is disabled, or has seasonal work, etc., and the MTs furnishes the benefits for the family. This is the case for the majority of MTs that I know.
I think the tone of your posts could be interpreted as condescending. You may not mean it to be, but it S/L you are saying you made the right choice to build your whole life around your kids and stay with them no matter what. You seem to be patting yourself on your back about what wonderful sacrificing parents you and your husband are.
Personally, I would feel suffocated if I were your kid. Kids are not the end all and be all - they are a wonderful part of life but they are not the sole purpose for it. Your kids are supposed to fit into your life, not shape it.
The fact that your username is my 7yo informs me speaks volumes about who is in charge in your home.
