I was one of the ones praying for your kitty and told you that you would know when the time was right, and you did. I lost mine in Feb and I am still looking for her, sometimes I think I even see her. Don't even worry about picking up her stuff. You'll know when the time is right for that too. I still cry at the grocery store when I pass the cat food aisle or the evaporated milk which was her "special" treat. I feel sure she is sunning herself up in Heaven right now and she is at peace with no pain, just waiting for Mom to get there someday. I think time passes quickly up there too, so to her it will seem soon when you arrive. Bless you.

and I miss her every day. I could've written your letter, especially the part about ditching her and going with friends. I could sure kick myself now for not spending more time with her. She was a beautiful lady and I miss her, especially at the holidays.
At Christmas 1993, my husband said Let's go see your folks. I said it's such a long trip, etc etc. Next year!
Well, 10 days later, mom was gone from pneumonia. Just like that she was gone and I was left with a big gaping hole in my heart and plenty of I wish and Why didn't I?

I posted below sparklers on the 4th but your post brought back wonderful memories of the same thing. So many of the places that my mom and I shopped at are now gone. My fav was Kresgies (sp) which had a lunch counter as well as what was probably mostly junk. I always had a grilled cheese. Now a park stands there and my mom would take my daughter and niece there for picnics. I lost my mother also....oh just one more day.

because my furkids also gift from hubby and I know, really know the love we give these little ones. She had been through so much. You gave her a good home and I am sure did everything to make her life comfortable. I have 2 boys from my gift and 1 is a purrer and the other 1 not but again know I along with others share your sorrow.

I have read your post and this is the first time hearing this. I have had so many animals, loved animals, that have died and to think I would ever see them again is something that just warms my heart. Birds, dogs, cats and even a white mouse are ones I have lost. Thank you so much for this.

BE SAFE. My biggest worry would be the guns and that's why I suggested you leave; I know it is important to try to keep your kids stable in school, but nutty control freaks do horrible, horrible things when they feel their power taken away.

Everyone is off and apparently as safe as can be, crew and I believe 151 passengers. I hear the engines when out when geese flew into the plane and pilot was able to steer back over NJ and land flat on the water. What a joyous outcome.

You are right about the gorgeous doc. My old OB doc years ago was so gorgeous. Beach bum, bleeched hair, dark skin and just gorgeous. I only saw him once. Not kidding. Couldn't go there.
I hope your hysterectomy goes well when you have it. My best friend had one 6 months ago, and fortunately she was able to have a vaginal hysterectomy and not abdominal. She was fine in a couple of weeks. Mainly just sore. Lots of good thoughts for you.

A role model is someone you should look up to and being an entertainer, for the most part, is not someone I would protray as one. I think Beyonce is pretty, sorta half way talented but the others listed above, their talents seem to be in how much media they can gather. Your description of walking around with a gaping wound in your chest and no one noticing - You may not believe this, but until I read this I had long since put away feelings I'd forgotten - I HAVE had an experience, and you reminded me. One of my babies died at one day old thirty-two years ago. You described what I remember feeling exactly. How could I have forgotten that? I'm sitting here with tears running down my face.

What I have up blocking is that material you mentioned but I stapled it. I tried using sticky tack stuff (poster tack) but then I just stapled it one day. Maybe I'll try the Velcro.
And I did think maybe one day I would try to make the roman shades, I've seen patterns on craft shows.

When I read the subject line, I thought wow what a bad attitude that is, then I read your post and realized you must have mistyped it. LOL,. Sorry about the baby, it stinks when our babies are ill, especially at that young age when they cannot really tell us what the problem is.

This one made me laugh because bear was one of the best
meals that I've ever had. One of our scout leaders is a hunter, and brought a bear tenderloin on one of our camping trips. He marinated it in Italian dressing and then cooked it over an open flame on a grate. It tasted very much like beef filet. He had enough for every boy in the troop to try a slice or two, and they all wanted more, including our VEGETARIAN scout! Our vegetarian actually hates veggies, so his diet is mostly bread and cheese. When we got back from the trip we told his mom, "Good news! Your son has decided that he likes meat. Bad news is, you're going to have start bear hunting!"
So, this is the only time I've had bear, and I'm sure the tenderloin is the mildest cut. But it was dee-lish quickly grilled with a simple marinade.
That made me laugh because my sister and I STILL say that SM

I had to laugh when I saw your post.
I have a neighbor who is a single mom with a 14- and 16-year-old and both are dropouts, so they're hanging around all day. She has a boyfriend with whom she spends most of the week, so these kids raise themselves. I find booze bottles thrown in my yard (over the fence), found a baggy with a blunt in it once (called the police because it looked like pot), loud music late at night - the whole 9 yards. Trash neighbors, indeed! My 8-year-old son calls them the hoodlums!

Okay, stating "I conceived my child" is giving me a mental blow by blow that I don't need (okay, I know you're now saying - you're just mental, period. HA HA HA), but for me and others it does provide a graphic image we would rather not see. I absolutely love children and nothing is more precious than a child, but getting the graphics of conceiving and doing "the nasty" as my cousin calls it :-) is not that precious.
On the other hand, I only think certain movies are gross. If they have a plot I can deal with the rest, but as my DH says "what's the point of a plot. If I want that I will watch a regular movie". HA HA HA. So your post did make me laugh.
I'm not a "prude" by all means. It's fun entertainment. I just think it's way too creepy to say "my DH and I conceived at this date and time" (I was the one who posted Thanks for the Graphics - NOT, but then when I posted a second time I thought Keep it to yourself was a better name). I just think its too creepy (and personal) when people talk about the date and time they "conceived" their child. I just watched George Carlin last night and he was talking about kids. He said of course your kids are special to you. That's why they are your kids. The rest of us could care less.
The OP could have simply stated I had a Y2K baby or a 2008 New Years Eve baby and we all would have congratualted her, but bringing the picture to our minds of them doing the act was just creepy.
If SHE (the teacher) brought it up then it is very, very wrong. If a child brought it up
it is still wrong for her to answer with the truth -- but lying wouldn't really be acceptable either. In the case of the child asking her she should tell the child to ask their parents.
I would assume the scenario was something like one child telling another child that there was no Santa and that child then asking the teacher. Not wanting to lie about it the teacher told the truth. Anyone teaching children that age, at this time of year, should have a prepared statement for that type of situation. "You need to ask your Mommy or Daddy that question."

I so get that......*tears*.....I recently lost my dad, he was very_old but we were ThickAsThieves and for a long, long, long time, I'm talking decades and decades...how lucky was I?!?!?!!! I say recently but it was nearly 3 years ago......I got to care for him during his illness and that was a blessing to me (10 years) along with outside help.
I wish you and your daughter THE BEST - and I don't know where you live or your financial situation, but if I had the resources, I would find a field where you know it's grown and scatter his ashes, Colombia comes to mind or Kentucky *lol* read the news - hey the Everglades in Florida!! *lol*
I, myself, want to be cremated and my ashes scattered over New Mexico, the Sangre DE Cristo Mountains near Santa Fe. I will go with the gas card and some cash, good ideas. I think I got 10 bucks and told I had to start to pay more "board". Times are changing. I don't remember last time we gabbed about this subject but the gifts were way up there for high school. These sound more like what I can afford.

Squeeze out the excess moisture; put some mayonaise (no imitation) all over the fish, then roll in crushed pepperidge farms herbal stuffing mix and place on sprayed cookie sheet and bake (i think it was about 400 or 450 for 15 min?) Yum!

I can see where the girl gets it though. Really pathetic.
They moved in a couple houses down about 2 years ago and I started locking my front door not long after.
All the neighbors had a BBQ party one night not long after they moved and that is when we all got a taste of how their house is run. The husband seems like a nice guy and I actually pity the poor man.
We are in the front yard of another neighbor and the girl comes storming up to her mom whining about not having something, think it was about a water gun or something. Anyway, the mom looks at dad and I am NOT kidding... she said, "Dale, what are you going to do about this?"
She wanted him to drop everything and race to get her a bigger one... AND HE DID! The girl was what.. 13 then? Give me a break!
Not long after, the girl started coming over unannounced, uninvited, and would just walk right in and make herself at home. Go through the fridge, turn on the television, you name it.
Thought, okay, the kid is rude. Then her mom came over one day did one of these tricks of opening up the door without knocking and saying "Knock Knock! ANYONE HOME?" As she is walking into my kitchen in the BACK of the house. She started doing this often enough that I started keeping the door locked.
She also will stand out in your yard and, while she's talking to you, her little precious dog poops. She simply says, Oops! but leaves the POOP right where it lands!

Just speaking for my brother, it made him more determined to have a good marriage SM
and is respectful and a wonderful dad and husband. I am proud of him for that. My dad was a good person, and so is my mom. However, together they were oil and water. I affected my sister and myself more than my brothers.

I wholeheartedly agree with what you just said 100 percent, except that God also wants us to live by his commandments, which means Thou Shalt Not Kill; and also taking one day a week to honor only him, to sing his praises, and to rest. So many people think of the weekend as their time off from their duties in life, but forget to honor god. He also wanted us to honor the original religious holidays, and I am not referring to Easter and Christmas, which are man made holidays, not holy days. God was referring to the religious Holy days written into the Torah. A lot of people have no knowledge of that either. I also agree there are going to be an awful lot of ticked off people when Jesus returns. I only hope, and I mean hope, that I will be counted among those he receives as his own. I try my best, but I also know that I am a sinner, as no man is exempt from being one. I have been born again, but sometimes fall short of what god wants us all to be. Bless you for having the courage to say what you said.

While it's politically incorrect to even mention race (other than ''white'' as the other poster mentioned) or country of origin (other than American), the families of the slaughtered students probably don't think this is the time for political correctness. It is naieve to assume that everyone who comes to this country does so out of love for this country or respect for American culture/way of life. It is also foolish to assume that parents do not impart their own beliefs to their children. And 8 year-olds are not just hatched from the egg--they HAVE been to school and HAVE been somewhat influenced by their families and culture by that age. And they CONTINUE to be influenced by their family. Some immigrants are motivated to come here strictly for economic reasons but hold onto the cultural attitudes of their country of origin. A love for one's country does not necessarily occur by osmosis -- it is shaped and influenced by family attitudes and home environment no matter what the country of origin. A recent NY Times article cited a poll taken in which a majority of South Koreans expressed trust for the North Korean president more than the American government. While, apparently, nobody anywhere has any use for Pres.Bush anymore, that's still some gratitude after so many of our soldiers have died over the years defending their country. No, this political correctness and assumption that every person who relocates here does so out of love for the USA is sheltered, naieve and damaging to our country.

I had a panic attack in February, my first and hopefully my last. I agree that medication is not a good long-term solution, but my doctor gave me about 14 days' worth Klonopin. Just enough to give me a chance to catch my breath (literally). Then I started exercising again and did the deep breathing he recommended. When I went back after 6 weeks, he asked if I wanted any meds to keep on hand and I told him no. If I needed it, I would call him.
I hope your doctor can help you like mine helped me, because even though my attack was a one-time thing, nothing chronic like you seem to be having, I know it wasn't anything I want to go through again. Good luck to you!
