This is the greatest site...

It gives 150 categories. This particular URL is for kids parties. There is a huge list but when you pick individual themes it is broken down to other peoples personal parties and what they did which gives you more ideas. Click on Dress-up party and it breaks down to some 10-y/o parties. Not sure what your child is "in to" but this might be of help.

Isn't googling the greatest??
I just love what comes up...especially when you have a shady ex like mine as well. But....then it gets old and you get over it, but it is a great way to "heal"..I think anyway.
You guys are the greatest!

Excellent advice from all of you!  I'm running to the local hardware right now to get a sink-sized plunger.  Thanks!

I'm a child of the greatest generation.
That's what we now call the generation that came through WWII. My dad had been a medic with the 82nd Airborne. He never talked about it much, but by studying history I knew what horrible fighting the 82nd endured. To see the pictures of those poor guys on last night's episode broke my heart. I even looked for my dad and cried a bit.
I grew up in a small town, a very close-knit community. All of the men my father's age had been in the war, my uncle, my dad, my friends' fathers. They were an amazing bunch of men. The others who were left at home told about life here in the US, the rationing, the stars hanging in windows, the terror of seeing the Western Union delivery man on his bike riding through town with the notices that loved ones were dead. Later, when I was in high school and college and studied the war, I'd ask my neighbors and family about what they knew back then, what did they know while it was actually going on. They never felt any animosity toward the government for withholding information. In their day, they didn't say the government lied to them.

You have to remember the context. This was a global war, people were sure that spies were everywhere, and in those days information was not immediate, as it is today. Why did the government not tell the American people how badly its fleet was damaged at Pearl Harbor? Because the Japanese were listening to the broadcasts, too. So by concentrating on the fact that carriers were not hit and were out to see at the time of the attack, the government was hoping more to mislead the Axis countries than our own, and to bolster the faith of the American people that we could win the war. Remember, the U.S. was not perceived to be a world power at that time. And, the war had been going on for several years before we were involved. We held a strong isolationist position while Hitler marched through Europe well before Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese.
Certainly, government secrecy would not be tolerated by the public today. That changed with Vietnam. News still traveled slowly in those days. It took two weeks for film to travel back to the U.S., be developed and broadcast. We received news very slowly in those days, and that gave the government more time to slant information. And today, the average person on the ground has access to mass communication. We can read blogs from Baghdad, listen to podcasts from around the world, and see news broadcasts from other countries via satellite.
Satellites, internet, cable technology have made the world smaller, and in a way, we can all "see" what's happening. The secrecy during WWII was meant to preserve the integrity of military intelligence. It was meant to keep up the morale of the American public, it was meant to mislead our enemies who were listening, just as we listened in on their broadcasts. It was definitely a different world in those days. And of course, I think the public was more forgiving of this secrecy, because in the end, we won the war. The lying that went on about Vietnam was such a different matter. The war went on for so long, and we weren't told how badly things were going. And with a mushy objective, eventually we were all fed up. The lies of the government were revealed. And of course there was Watergate. There's nothing like finding out that your President was in on a deal to break into the offices of his political opponents to shake your trust in politicians in general. Especially when such a thing had never happened before, to our knowledge, at least. From then on, the public attitude shifted toward a government versus the people perspective. It's definitely a different world now.

I use this site
Vacationstogo.com and I got my trip last year thru Kitty. I only went on the land to Alaska and it was a wonderful time, part by tour bus and part by train. I in younger years went all over Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean but had traveling companion (daughter) then. Now she is grown and wants to do her own vacations and me also. I hope never to get too old to travel. Bon voyage!
cant they set their site to

Here is a web site.

http://www.dogsbite.org/blog-dog-bite-statistics.htm

The problem is that no matter how responsible a dog owner you are, dogs can accidentally escape.   What would happen to an innocent person walking down the street if your dog happened to escape your yard or your house?  One story on this web site is about two little boys who were walking down the road when a pit bull came bounding out of the woods and knocked one of the boys to the ground and latched onto his face.

No one can ever convince me that this breed has any unique combination of personality traits that make it worth risking innocent human lives to own one.  I think the entire breed should be destroyed.  The evidence of their inherent danger is overwhelming.

site
I did read the website, but it still doesn't mean anything to me. I still can't be judgmental & say that the whole pitbull breed are killers and I can't say it's the people's fault either, and I can't even sit here & say that every attack that involves a "pitbull" is actually a purebred 100% "pitbull", can you??? Again, UNLESS I was there & heard and witnessed everything that happened, I can't pass judgement in any of the dog attack cases what so ever and I leave that completely up to God. And I know you said previously that you were not passing judgement, but it sure sounds like are you. I just can't do that. I see the broader picture in everything and I leave the judgement up to God. And in everything in life just in general there are always two sides to every story.
I saw that site too....sm
I think when I get another one made I will try it on there. That is a cool site.
if you go to the irs site
there is a section called "where is my refund" and you enter your ss#, what you claimed (head of household, single, married filed separate, etc) and the exact amount of your refund, and it tells you when it should be sent or deposited. It tells you who to contact if it hasn't been received by such-and-such time after the date, at least it did back when I looked in February. I got my check a few days earlier than it stated, but I had mine direct deposited.

hope that helps.
How do you post a pic to a web site?
I have a picture at Snapfish and I would like to just copy and paste it to a web site.  I can't seem to manage it.  I have tried copying the URL to the web site and that works - they can click on the link and go to Snapfish but that is not what I want.  I want the pic to show up within the post of the web site.  I'm sure its simple but I just don't know how to do it.  Can you help?  TIA
eek sorry if I posted a bad site (m)
I was just googling for jewish actors and saw that site had a list that might be helpful for the OP to find who she was looking for. I did see the statement it was not a hate site and didn't really look at anything else on it.

Did not mean to offend anyone.
The ones from that site are called - sm
New Lifestyle, the Chocolate and Chocolate Mint are great. Vanilla is okay, Strawberry not so great. I bit the bullet and ordered 2 months worth, in the past I have gotten 2 weeks worth and alternate with Total Soy shake powder which I get at BJs which is the only way to get a good price on these things in bulk. But the NL shakes are only available from that website unfortunately. Cost about the same as Omnifast, Medifast, etc. but from reports taste a whole lot better.
I haven't done it in a while, but here is a site
that looks pretty good:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Crate-Training-A-Puppy-Or-Adult-Dog&id=87816

Keeping the crate in the family area during the day and your bedroom at night is very important for a puppy. Being alone is distressing, and they don't learn as well when they are stressed about that.

I know you're probably getting tired and frustrated, but you can do this. Good luck.
Can you name the site you looked at? Thanks!

and no we just have a regular chainlink fence. We had the fence put up when we moved here 6 years ago for our dogs. Our first cat (11 yrs) was an indoor/outdoor cat before we moved here but was a bit timid so stayed very close to our old house but goes over the fence here all the time.
I have worked on-site, but I'd have
to disagree with the fact that the typists are not taken seriously is due to the fact that it is a work from home position.  The big national companies took this from us.  I was an on-siter, made fairly good money (hourly), will collect a pension, and had all of the benefits (which kept getting more expensive each year).  I make plenty more here from my home being an IC with my own accounts.  Once the hospitals and physicians began to know that there were companies they could call on the phone, dictate, and have no worries, they took them up on it.  Why should they pay benefits when the transcription companies could alleviate this expense.  No worries right?  No vacations to pay.  No sick time to pay.  No workers' compensation claims to pay for carpal tunnel or back injuries.  I still feel that we are professionals.  There are actually work-at-home Moms that are note typists, but have made a nice business for themselves.  The work-at-home thing is a trend for parents to take hold of their finances and still run the household.  I know it is not for everyone, but times are a changing.  This computer age has really taken a hold of the economy.  The media has really taken a hold of our children.  My Mom would tell me about how they show so much more now on TV about the war then they would have ever in the past.  We were saved from all the guts and blood.  Those days are over.  It is a dog-eat-dog world out there now, but I can say there are a lot positives.  Virtual assistants are all the go... enjoy the ride!!!  LOL - Take care!
I bookmarked this site. Thank you. nm

Can anyone recommend a web site for
a Leek or Leak procedure of the cervix to remove precancerous cells.  My 18yr old niece is having this done next week.  My SIL knew very little about the procedure and when I Google I am not finding much info.  Thanks.

Went to the site mentioned here, showed step by step, sounds wonderful, snug as a bug in a rug, may make one for myself!
I just visited the site
It is really pretty, but kinda pricey. Did you order from their website or can it be bought someplace else that's less expensive?
I love this site

I did not know what I had until I looked at the site
and it has worked for years for me. Having said that, in the process of having tooth implant in upper front, guess my canine tooth, not sure, the 1 next to the big 1 right in front. Very expensive, hope it is worth it. The flipper on bottom, works great!

don't know "other site," either

Is it some inside secret or something?

Yeah, they definitely needed to lighten up over here big-time!

This site is now being run by new owners
The old owner of this site started her own board. There was a lot of posts about this before the list changed hands. It was also down for a few days.
Thanks for the site! Just what we needed! (nm)

There is also a web site all about bluing .
for Mrs. Stewart's bluing. It is www.mrsstewart.com

There are also some other uses for it that are very intersting. I think my 7-year-old would love to make the salt crystal garden!
Why is this site so slow lately?
I just wondered if anyone else is having a problem even getting into MT Stars.  When I can get it, it is so slow.

for using coupons and stocking up on groceries is www.thegrocerygame.com. It does cost a little to join the web site, but they have done an amazing job at matching coupons with various grocery sales. You can choose your stores, like Kroger, HEB, CVS, etc. I used to do this a long time ago and still have a stock pile of shampoo and toothpaste. I quit for a while, but I think I may need to go back to it. I could get like $300 of groceries for around $90. No lie!
thanks! I love this site also. nm

from your first paragraph! I feel like we are a bunch of invisible sisters/mothers/friends... I love asking advice here even if I get mean or rude answers or people disagreeing because I know everyone has an opinion and it helps me to grow as a person to see other's views. because there are always those that are truly concerned. Great advice and I appreciate it dearly. If you saw my above post... she did write me and I am feeling a lot calmer, but still cautious :) I will let you know how it turns out!

It's more than just submitting the web site

Being found on the search engines depends on your headers and meta tags that are embedded in you web pages.  Search terms like accessories, hand bags, etc.  You want as many descriptors as possible, that way when people search for things, yours will be one of the pages that comes up.

Then there's something that has to do with activity, and how often the page is accessed and changed.  The "spiders" that crawl through the internet to cache stuff look at things like that.  If the web site has been sitting there dormant for months, it will fall lower down on the list.  I know you said yours is new, but that's also one of the things they look at.

Find someone that has much more knowledge that I do about this and ask them about how to get to teh top of the search pages on Google and Yahoo.  I do know it's more than just submitting your site to them.
