I gave a gift to a home for troubled kids, attached a gift card to an easy button. Still getting thank you's. Just added a simple touch to money card which I don't like to give, but in this case it worked well, as kids are older, teenage troubled kids.
I would have hit that panic button if she said pregnant!
This is exactly what is happening all over the states, people in a panic, not me - I told her just to check with her physician next week. If it is not a mysterious box or package being found and a panic about that, it is this or something else, all the time. I was actually relieved to hear what she said!
Try going to the Help button on a Word document (sm)
for Microsoft Word Help, then type in "mail merge" and it should walk you through what you need to know.
Alternatively, type "Word, mail merge, envelopes" in google, and you should get lots of hits on help for it, especially directly from Microsoft.
I haven't had to mail merge in so long, I've forgotten too! Hope thisi helps
Sadly no edit button.
lol
I get a kick out of the "Easy button" ones (sm)
just saw one where electronic stuff is landing everywhere, a laptop on the holiday table, a GPS hitting a guy in the head while he's hanging lights outside, etc. and it turns out to be a baby just playing, smacking the Easy button over and over. Makes you stop and watch, and funny the first time, anyway!
Before you push the panic button sm
This is a recession, quite possibly the mother of all recessions. It may turn into a depression, but it will run a very distant second to the Great Depression, IF it does.
Pre the GP (Great Depression) you several things going on that are NOT true today. We had come out of WWI not that long before. It had been a very bloody war, the first war with mechanized destruction. What the Doughboys witnessed was for them what we saw on 09/11...unimaginable death and destruction. It changed how they viewed America.
When these boys came home from the war, they came back to the farm, by and large. We were an agrarian country and with the exception of east coast, there were hardly any factory jobs and most people worked the land. Plenty of places all over the country people worked on "shares" and they were not all in the deep south and they were not all black. There was not nearly the land/home ownership that there is today. Most of these dirt farmers lived in poverty and barely scraped by enough to eat twice a day. When the great Dust Bowl came through Oklahoma, it took the enormous clouds of dust eastward and dumped it into the Atlantic Ocean. This was a man-made disaster and the story of the Joads in the Grapes of Wrath centers on the Dust Bowl and the farming habits of families, like the Joads caused them problems. It was their fault that the top soil blew across FDR's desk in the Oval Office.
There was no infrastructure to speak of, in those days. There were roadways, but not the spider web of paved roads there are today. Goods were carried on the rails, not over the roads. You didn't have Walmart or Kroger. You had the store "in town" and the Sears-Roebuck catalog. If you couldn't find it there or could not afford it you either cobbled something together or did without. You can look the Coal Miner's Daughter about being so low-down dirt poor it is unbelievable. That movie is quite cleaned up and Hollywood presentable. You could look at the sparse surroundings of the ranch house in Broke Back Mountain where Ennis goes after Jack dies, and while the time frame is more modern, the very plain, only the very basics of life appear in that ranch house. They are both a bit sanitized, but reasonably realistic.
Today, Americans live extraordinarily different lives than we did 80 years ago. Most people have a vehicle. Most people have more than a dirt floor shack to live in. We, have thanks to the Great Depression and FDR's recovery plan, electricity, roads, water, sewage and other sanitation. We take these things for granted, but we should not. The GP did bring some food shortages, not because of the depression, but because of the lack of infrastructure combined with people on the move to find work to subsist. The food shortages you are thinking of came with WWII and rationing...another problem secondary to lack of infrastructure and subsistence farming where there was not enough food produced to meet the need.
If you are going to stock up on food, let be for more common sense reasons. If you put your money in the bank, you will make 2% or 3% return on $500. If you put that same amount into nonperishable food (think canned goods), you make a better return on an investment. You don't earn 2% or 3%, but you can end up leveraging against future price increases that will meet and exceed what interest you make from a bank, which is nothing right now. You will need food whether you buy it now or buy it later. Squirreling away extra under the bed or whatever place you can find room, is a wise investment...financially and in peace of mind.
Doesnt everybody ?

Just doesnt want to slide out for me it seems. Thanks. nm

Take your share and go?? - Why doesnt he take his
I feel if someone makes you feel appreciated and loved, then you should want to be your best for them. If you are doing you best, then he has the problem and needs to lighten up or get gone.
If you really could try harder (being organized and being a healthy weight)and want to do that, then do it. (I am overweight, so this is not the advice of a person with a perfect body and I am also not organized!) You may be surprised how much better you feel about yourself and with all that new self-esteem, well just saying he better be on his toes and treat you good.
If DH doesnt find job, may not be doing any. Kids are

Can you let us know what it turns out to be?
It would be interesting.
I'm battling skin staph or something right now myself. What a pain.
I've been sick with something ever since Misha died. Zapped my immune system, I think.
I'm having to take turns with DH, so
I'm only to chapter 7 so far.
It is so funny that he is the one who ordered it, but when the UPS man brought it he took the package and said, "Oh, HER book came." He couldn't admit to the UPS guy he ordered it for himself!
ROFL.
But I'm totally in denial that it's the last one. :op
Let us know how it turns out for you...nm

Do you think you look better with a little extra weight as you age so your face doesnt look as thin.
Just curious as to what you think.
In my area it is *70 and turns it off just for..

Well I'll let you know how it turns out
Since I ordered one, we'll see. Talked to hubby and he said he had talked to somone who actually has one and they think its great, they also heat with wood and use this to supplement at night, that's why he left the article.
I don't want to give up my wood and convert because its free and I love the smell (hubby cuts me hickory!) but I know someone who has a corn stove and they love it. I love my wood stove and wouldn't go back to central unless forced to, its the only time in my life I've been truly warm in the winter!
Wow, if this turns out to be right, I am really impressed!...nm

back and forth free for all, you also don't know me personally to make assumptions about my personality. This has gotten old quickly, so I'll leave with these thoughts.
You expressed an opinion saying you were ill about her treatment which you thought was above and beyond.
I expressed an opinion, in turn, basically saying if you were in her situation you would want that same protection, considering it's very plausible that it's the obsessive fans and need to know that probably put her in this situation.
Opinions are opinions, facts are facts, and considering all the information any of us knows come from cutthroat reporters who are looking to make that big story, it would be rare if anyone knew any true story about a celeb.
I know if I were famous and hounded by people 24/7, and having a mental breakdown to boot, you can bet your bippy I'd do whatever in my power to make sure I had nobody around who could violate my privacy any more than it had already been violated.
As for the doctors getting suspended, if they weren't on her case, and it's not a teaching hospital, and if she has security, then it's for a reason, and they should have known better than to violate her privacy. Doctors can violate HIPAA just as easily as anyone else, and that's what they were doing, because it's also very possible that those same docs who just wanted a quick peek, probably couldn't keep it to themselves, or they wouldn't have been nosing in her business in the first place. They got less than they deserved.
Walk a mile in her shoes. Have sympathy and compassion in your heart for those who need it, which she obviously does!
Great news! Hope it turns out well for you. nm

This season has been full of twists and turns! sm
Boy, what a goon Eric is!!! I think he is such an innocent young man. To trust those women, good grief! I believe he is the only person ever to give up immunity in all the seasons of the show. It was bad enough when James got voted off with two idols in his pocket, but I think last night with Eric handing over his power to those girls was insane. He was dominating the game, yet he allowed himself to be sucked in. Amanda has played a cool game with her manipulation of various players. I can see her winning. I cannot say I care much for the other two girls as winners at this point, but we shall see. I will definitely be watching on Sunday!
Question. Do many of you have problems with streets, turns, etc. driving at night in strange areas
you are not familiar with. I am not thrilled by night driving in unfamiliar towns.
MOST IMPORTANT!!!!
x
It's not really as important to me as it is to you.
Why don't you take your misdirected anger and put it where it belongs instead of being mean and rude to people on the Internet who have done NOTHING to you!!! Now I remember why I stopped coming to MT Stars and that's because of rude people like YOU.
This is very important..
the cat should be an indoor cat ONLY!! It would never survive outside without any claws. I don't understand why people put their cats out anyway...they are just as happy as being indoors as long as there is stimulation and playtime. I let my cat out on my balcony (under supervision) to "blow the stink off him" but he prefers to be in the house looking out the window.
VERY IMPORTANT
It's very important that you teach your daughter that someone who treats her like this is not a true friend. I have taught my daughter to BE NICE TO EVERYBODY, but you DO NOT have to be everybody's best friend. I have told her what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Help her understand that it is disappointing, but the sooner she accepts that's the way this girl is, the happier she will be. Unfortunately my daughter had to learn the same lesson at that age and I have had to reiterate it to her this year in the 7th grade. It's OKAY to not be best friends with this girl, and that friends should not treat friends this way. It's all about boundaries.
Important
I think it is very important to try to get to the root of your son's problem. He may not have a real handle on what is bothering him (or what happens) either, but there should be someone qualified to help with that.
Another thought is to see if those nanny shows are on DVD. It seems they are very smart about handling a lot of the situations with children and families.
Well that is certainly more important
in the long run.
P.S. - very important
Another thing you don't say is how much you really know about this man. If he has bad credit, unpaid child support payments, a criminal record, etc. this could permanently scar your own situation.
If you don't truly know a great deal about this man, spend a few bucks and have a private investigation firm check him out.
I do not have anything more important
To think about than the one person on this board who posts every other blog, arguing back and forth with themselves, like you, pretending to be 100 people, Maybe you should think about that.
Some important questions
Are there people around who can look in on the grandparents and get back with you? If I were unable to get in touch with grandparents, aunts, siblings or the like and had always been able to, I would contact the police to get them to intervene. I would think they could check up just to ease your mind and make sure they are ok. Oh, by the way, you might text or leave message on cousins phones since you are unable to hear from them this is your plan-- It is surprising how putting this out there will get the attention you are wanting. I just recently got some wonderful results from a person not responding to my emails, realtor to be exact- told him what I planned on doing, no need for him to reply, 4th email and that afternoon a phone call and an email. Works wonders!
Why is the lifestyle more important?
He is a me type person. I have a grown daughter just like that. He is only thinking of himself and what he wants. This is the difference in my martial situation- if my husband wanted to move somewhere else I would go with him in a minute, no question. I love my home but I love him more. The statement about the other woman would probably make me feel a little uneasy because I feel if you are saying things like that, how do I know you are not acting on them? I have a cousin spent loads of time hunting, going to all kinds of meetings of things he was involved with, had 2 almost grown sons, left his wife of 30+ years, had met another woman and gave up a paid for 4 bedroom brick home to live with this woman in a trailer… It happens.
It's important to know these things
You'd know if you hadn't had a BM in 5 days or if you hadn't peed in an entire day. (I'm not suggesting people are writing these things down, I'm just sayin'...) Both might signal that something wasn't right. Periods that are not right in frequency definitely can signal things not right with the body. I think it's a great practice and will do so when my 3 start with their periods. I have PCOS, so I'm a little anal about it, but I so wished someone would have taken notice when I was a teen and showing many signs of it.
Freedom first and most important
My husband has only danced with me ONCE during our entire (more than two-decade) marriage and that was under extreme pressure from his buddies (we were out with a group of friends, mostly couples).
I lost my identity for a long time but after YEARS of marriage I am starting to get it back. Baby steps, but little by little...
I am for them. They are an important reminder
Although they are considered a religious symbol, it should not offend atheists to see them on the side of the road. This is America, land of many religions, and how someone wants to honor a loved one that has passed is their business in my opinion. They are free to be atheists and should allow others their freedom as well.
I think it is important to realize that...
the world does not revolve around us. If there is not a huge amount of fighting or abuse of some sort, why should she deprive her children of their father. Often, I think children say what their parents want to hear about the other parent. My 33-year-old brother still does. There are worse things than waking up and going to bed with a person whom you do not love. And - I bet that if she tried, she could still find something she does love about him. I really think that society has made divorce to acceptable. There is just no incentive to stick it out through the tough times that everyone has.
One important question...sm
One of the things you don't mention is what each of you is bringing into the relationship materially. You say "he knows what he wants out of life", and that's disturbingly different from saying "he has achieved (whatever) in life". After all, what he wants out of life might be a cushy situation...or a mother...or lots of other things that really aren't healthy.
If this man is 40 and isn't bringing a substantial material contribution to the relationship in relation to your own contribution, this is a VERY big red flag.
What's he been doing? What has he accomplished? How stable have his jobs been? At 40, a man has accumulated a sufficient record to tell you exactly who he is beyond his words and protestations of love. You must be willing to LOOK at these things very objectively.
Aside from that, I'm afraid that 70-versus-50 will not be such a good fit, and 80-versus-60 will be even worse.
I'm sorry I can't be more optimistic about this, and I really debated whether to post my reservations because I'm not interested in raining on your parade, but there are simply too many examples of such extreme age differences where the older partner, especially when that is the female, has been victimized by shiftless opportunists who talk the game and say all the things the lonely female wants to hear.
Vitamin D is very important
A lack of vitamin D is the cause of ricketts. It doesn't happen that often in the US any more because of all of the fortified foods we get, but if you don't go outside much at all, it can be a real concern. There was a story about a hugely obese man - like 900 pounds obese - who had horrible pain and it turned out to be a lack of vitamin D. THe only way your body can metabolize vitamin D is by exposure to sunlight.
Doctors always want to make sure that women who are older or at risk for osteoporosis take Calcium and Vitamin D. The Vitamin D helps the body metabolize the calcium.
You should probably take a calcium supplement as well, if you aren't already.
Hope your rib pain goes away!
