That's what he's based this movie on. The fact that this sort of horrendous care, (or denial of care) is rampant in the healthcare industry. All they care about is making the CEO'S of insurance companies, hospitals, and HMOs richer and richer. So I'm at a loss to understand why you think the movie would PERPETUATE the problem. It might actually HELP a little bit by bringing all this corporate b.s. out in the open.

Where are you? I think the movie was made not too far from me. nm
!
Sounds like a made for TV movie . . .
who would play the loved crazed astronaut? How about Lindsey Lohan?
I think I have seen every John Cusack movie ever made.
I first fell for him in 16 candles....he was such a nerd but an adorable one at that. You will luv luv luv Serendipity!
I disagree with one point you made
A 16 or 17yr old knows what they are doing. Not always, especially if they are being influenced by someone who is an authority figure and 33. Now this girl may very well have gone after him which also makes me think he should have stayed away from her due to what we would consider his knowledge and maturity level. Once she graduates fine, but not while she is still in school.
This is true scripture. However, I made a point
when the parishioners in Sunday School elevated themselves as "better" than the people who were not at church that day. I pointed out there are many reasons, such as having to work, or having to tend to a sick person, or being ill, including emotionally challenged. THey had no clue what I, as the Pastor's wife was talking about. Sounded a lot to me like the Pharisees thought they were better than the blind and lame who they stepped over on the way to Temple. The misuse of this scripture taken out of context, not necessarily here, but for use of "us" versus "them" disgusts me. Truly it does. BTW: I have to transcribe on Sundays, because my husband's Pastor job does not pay enough for me to quit and guess what, as MTs we have to work weekends. I work because I have to. And not because I am avoiding regular church, which BTW our denomination does not offer services other than Sunday morning.
Critics hate the movie, but love her. Movie way too contrived, but so

Anybody see the movie Sicko yet? Important movie!

My family made home-made mozzarella,
and it was very good. I was pretty small at the time, so I don't remember the exact process, just that it was done pretty quickly, and a lot of milk was used.
I don't know if you'll save a lot of money making your own cheese. The cost of milk is very high, too, and you need a lot of milk to make cheese.
Do you ever see (or NOT see) a movie ... sm
based on what the critics say about it? I still think back to when Titanic came out and Gene Shallet (sp?) on the Today Show absolutely hated it. I think Premonition with Sandra Bullock looks like a good one, but the critics seem to hate it. But they also didn't like We Are Marshall, and I thought that was a fabulous movie, so I don't usually take what the critics say into consideration when picking a movie. Just wondering what anyone else's opinions were.
Have a great Friday!
oh okay. I have not seen the movie yet--sm
so I could not relate. Guess I will have to watch it now. lol.

Did anyone ever see Save the last Dance?
I know always think of that movie when I see her! (nm)

movie
If you go to pluggedinonline.com you can look up the movie and read about the language, gore, sexual content and anything else that might be in it before you watch it. Good luck!
No movie but okay anyway
Wish I could tell you which movie, but I naver made it out of the house. There is an all day marathon on Entrprise on sci fi, and another on USA I think with Law and Order. So, I caught up on the laundry while watching these things. Before you know it the day is almost over, and I haven't spent a dime LOL. Hope you go to see your movie and enjoy it. I have to start forcing myself to get out of the house.
There are SO many from that movie!
x
oh yes! there were a lot from that movie..(nm)

name this movie...
"So your gonna' tell me that you don't have no black cats, no roman candles, or screaming mimis?
Oh come on man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser? "
" No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like. "
Bee Movie
Will make you smile!!! It's so cute!
Can anyone name this movie
Ever have one of those toons you just can't quite place. I just heard a song by Duran Duran called Ordinary World. I know this was in a movie and it is driving me absolutely bananas that I cannot remember what movie. I'll post the link below to listen, but does anyone know what movie this song was in. I thought Lost Boys or Flatliners, but I've looked up soundtrack and its not listed. Anyone know? It's a very pretty song and one of those haunting melodies that I can play over and over and not get tired of it. Here's the link -

I have a movie for you
Watch Wall-E
I think it describes the difference between men and women in a very interesting way, and Eve is all woman even though she is a robot, and no one suggests that she take a pill to contain it either. In fact, she is a hero.
Best movie EVER!! nm
.
Sad we will never see her in another movie, but
What a horrible way to die. Watching my mom suffer with cancer I know what her family was going through. I'm happy for her that she is finally in a better place where there is no pain and suffering. It's a loss for all of us who longed to see her act in movies. She was a truly talented and warm-hearted person.
I think it is a movie - don't sweat it.

Went to see the movie 藼", all I can say is...
Gerard Butler...mmm mmm!
300 is the movie...don't know what happened above!! NM

How is *Dwight* in the movie?
I apologize if you don't watch The Office because then you don't get my reference. One of the actors in that movie plays *Dwight* in The Office.
It looks like a good movie and my daughter wants to see it as well. I love it when there are movies we actually BOTH want to see!
Ever see movie "Chicken Run?"
There's a scottish chicken who, for the life of me, I can't understand! I couldn't imagine trying to transcribe that particular dialect!
What about Silent Movie?
I was laughing so hard and so loud my children moved away and sat somewhere else in the theater so no one would know they were with me.
I agree - very fun movie.
I enjoyed it a lot.
Love that movie!
My sister's kids love it too, ages 7 and 5. They are spending the night tomorrow, so we'll probably watch it yet again.

Movie tickets
Ten bucks a ticket to go see a 2-hour movie! What is a family supposed to do? We can't afford that anymore...it's ridiculous...
3 movie must sees...sm
The Great Debaters (Denzel Washington), Bucket List (Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson) and I Am Legend (Will Smith). I'd like to see your reviews. Cat
I have seen the movie several times and of course
cry every time. I told DH I wanted the movie for Christmas and he got me the book. I had not read the book before, and honestly, I liked the movie better. That is the first time I have ever liked a movie better than the book.JMHO!
I Looooove that movie!!! nm

LOL... another good one from that movie...

never saw that movie. Good one!!
that was fun - and look at this thread! popular
Both! Dancing or a Movie?
I haven't seen that movie, so I don't know
what part you're talking about.
I HATE watching movies on TV though. I just can't stand how much they cut out, and it always seems to be a part that I wanted to see. I either buy them or rent them. I do netflix and then I can get old and new ones, and I'm bad about returning them on time so the no late fee thing works well for me.
favorite movie ever
"Queer Duck - the Movie"
No, I never watched that movie (sm)
Maybe I'll have to go rent it now and see if I missed something...see what he's all about .
I only saw the last part of this movie
Maybe that's why I couldn't remember. Thanks
Movie buckets are fun too....
We've given those before. We buy paper tubs of microwave popcorn and put in there 2 movie rental tickets or a gift card equal to it, some bottled soda and boxed candy. Movie night in a bucket. I got it as a gift years ago, and I liked it so much I give it to others now.
Fireproof movie
Has anyone seen the new movie Fireproof yet? It is great and you definitely should! It was produced by a church near my town and they did an amazing job!
Even if you are not a Christian or other belief, it is still a great movie. Yes there is a lot of Christian overtures in it (I mean it was made by a church!) but the main theme is love, and I think that is something everyone can understand!
I give it two thumbs up! In the days of every other movie being drugs and naked people, it is refreshing!
Let me know what you think!
Fireproof movie
My daughter and I went to see it last weekend and I would recommend it with 10 thumbs up. It really was the best I have seen in a long time since Amazing Grace. We are also planning on seeing the Billy Graham movie.
Has anyone seen movie "Enchanted"? It is
nm
This is actually a VERY GOOD movie. (sm)
If kids were acting out it was because of boredom...LOL. It's a very serious movie and definately worth seeing.....be sure to bring the Kleenex.
There's a great movie about this
"It Could Happen to You" with Nicolas Cage & Bridget Fonda. Really funny & sweet.
I'm a big movie fan, too. And I agree.
What a great movie. No need to remake it. But when they do, you can bet the new version will more violent and realistic given all the advances in special effects. Remember how shocking the final shootout scene was when that movie first came out? My mother didn't allow me to see it. My brother was also banned from seeing the original M*A*S*H with Donald Sutherland and Elliot Gould. It was R rated and shocking. Now, it's positively tame.
Ahhh, times have changed.
SICKO-the movie
Has anyone ever seen the movie SICKO? It is made by Michale Moore, who does all those documentary films. I usually don't like him, but if you watch this movie it will make you made. It made me cry. It is a movie about our nation's health care. It like totally blew me away and made me angry about the health care in this country. My company does offer health care, but even if I can make the line count to get it I still have to pay about $150 plus if I need medicine they may or may not cover it. It shows that plan about universal healthcare, which I thought was a bad thing, actually is very good. People in Canada, England, and France pay absolutely nothing. IN fact if I break my arm in Paris the hospital won't even charge me and I would be an American. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!
