I would never apply that to my lashes with the risks it has. Why would you do that with a chemical that could potentially permanently change your eye color?! Scary!
It's expensive, too - about $120 a month (my pharmacist's quote).
If you get eyelash extensions, it costs about the same annually. I've gotten them before for a wedding and loved them. Takes a little more time and upkeep but not the risk and the same or less money.
Best to try to find a different alternative
Maybe your husband could cut a board the size of your door frame, and wrap it in sissle rope, it needs to be at the height of the cat, so he can fully extend his body if that is his habit or what ever habit he has, maybe he only does it low, but you should know, or maybe a carpeted piece of board, I know you can find a solution, and just be so thankful it is not your furniture that cannot be repaired, thanks so much for not considering declawing, I commend you for not taking that route, I hope I could be of help, all for the animals!!!! Alternative to declawing
I use a product called Softclaws. They are plastic caps that you glue on you cat's front paws and it lasts about 5 weeks. They are kind of a pain to apply, but they really do work and Matt The Cat got used to them pretty quickly. I don't know, but maybe it would be worth a try before you opt for surgery. How about a healthy alternative
Healthy? What? For Superbowl? I know. I must be kidding, right?
How about a bunch of carrot sticks, or pre-peeled baby carrots, celery sticks, bell peppers cut into strips and some hummus. You can find good hummus at Whole Foods, and surprisingly, the Sam's near me has a really good one. Not everyone likes it, but it's one of my favorite snacks. You can also get pita chips and some baguette bread cut up into small slices to serve it with as well. Add some calamata olives and some bruschetta topping, which is roasted peppers in olive oil, and I think you'll have a hit that is not just the same old same old.
5 Alternative Meats To Consider
I believe I'll pass on all of them.
Meat consumption usually means beef, pork, or chicken. Mutton and venison are common also. My favorite Indian restaurant avoids both beef and pork for religious reasons, but sometimes offers goat as an alternative to chicken. In the past few years, rising food prices and concerns about the environment are leading people to try new and different sources of meat. Here are five you may have never thought about.
1. Raccoon
Raccoon meat is cheap if you know of a local trapper. In Kansas City, raccoons go for $3-7 dollars each, and a whole animal will feed five adults. Preparing raccoon meat isn’t easy or quick. Frozen meat must be thawed, then parboiled, then stewed. The cooking time is measured in hours, but those who have tried it love the taste. That is, if you can get past thinking of raccoons as vermin, roadkill, or cute little masked bandits. You’ll find one reminder: trappers remove the head and three paws, but leave one paw behind to prove the animal is not a dog or cat.
2. Camel
Camel meat is quite common in the Middle East, and is reportedly quite tasty. Australians are now encouraged to try camel meat as the continent’s million-plus wild camel population is growing out of control. Camels are destroying the delicate ecosystem of the desert, and they burp huge amounts of greenhouse gasses into the air. You can find camel recipes if you look, but beware that some recipes are more serious than others.
3. Squirrel
Eating squirrel is nothing new in America. Just a few years ago, advice came from the University of Kentucky that people should not eat squirrel brains because they may contain a variant of Mad Cow Disease. The rest of the squirrel is fine, if a little stringy. Now squirrel meat is being promoted in Britain due to an overpopulation of gray squirrels. The American invaders are edging out the native red squirrels. Brits who resisted squirrel meat for centuries are now patting themselves on the back as they eat gray squirrel and do their part for the balance of nature. You’ll find plenty of recipes for squirrel online.
4. Yattle
Yattle is the name given to a crossbreed of yaks and cattle. Yak meat has less fat than beef, because yak fat is near the skin, where it helps keep the cold-climate animal warm, whereas beef cattle distribute their fat throughout the meat. First-generation yattle are the result of mating between a yak and a cow or bull. Male yattle are sterile, but females can breed with bulls, resulting in a 25% yak ancestry for second-generation yattle. Yaks, and yattle, consume less food than cattle, and produce valuable fiber to make sweaters. Yattle meat is supposedly indistinguishable from yak meat.
5. Kangaroo
Kangaroos are both plentiful and meaty, with a low percentage of fat compared to beef. They are also less damaging to the environment than cattle. However, kangaroo meat is slow to catch on in Australia. After all, most nations don’t eat their national symbol! Some European countries consume more kangaroo meat per capita than Australia, possibly because of Mad Cow Disease fears. Environmental groups encourage people to eat kangaroo because the animals do not burp or fart and therefore do not add greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere -strangely the opposite reason people are encouraged to eat camel meat. Kangaroo meat is used in sausages, stews, steaks, burgers, and sandwiches.

and this is for many, many things but other than the mention of aluminum foil, I did not see an alternative for fabric softener on there. Aluminum foil? I would think that could break down and then you would have aluminum to contend with? Never-ending!!
Alternative Christmas celebration and
Does anyone here NOT celebrate the traditional Christmas with their kids...specifically I am referring to the "Santa" portion. I am thinking about doing this with our second child (currently pregnant). Our first child is now old enough to know the truths and it is kind of a relief to be honest. I have tried and tried to stress the importance of family and the true meaning over Santa but its really hard. Recently I have just been thinking that may be next time it would be easier all the way around to not follow that but wonder how it would work with school, people asking, etc.

How is the relationship?
If your grandmother did not write a will, that means she died intestate, then the State takes over the distribution of your grandmother's assets. There are strict inheritance laws which will be implemented.
I doubt that this 'nephew' can take your inheritance away from you, since you are the grandchild and he is only the child of a grandchild. It seems that your grandmother's lawyer will be the executor, unless your grandmother gave a power of attorney to somebody else. This is the person who sees to it that all heirs get their right shares.

What happened to the 'children' of your grndmother, namely the 'parents'?

Funny you mentioned that because
my favorite chair was the 1 they clawed to death and I put in an unused hallway until I got the time to spend making sure they loved the catnip more than my new leather. I hear them in the hallway going after that ole worn out chair. I would have had it recovered but once the scratching started, figured they would go at it again. I am doing cleaning this morning and this afternoon will have the time to put their catnip out and take my covers off. Does cutting their nails help any or will they still scratch as much as they do?

Chances are the school has a policy regarding this. If not, the child/parent may have some recourse.
Generally school policies supercede general law and rights, i.e. search and seizure regarding lockers (they can go in them as they please).
I'm thinking if they imposed such a stiff penalty, they can back it up lawfully. It really matters not if we think it is right or wrong. If it's school policy (approved by the school board) and stated in the handbook every student gets at the beginning of the semester, then that's the bottom line.

talked about, but after Katrina, other countries DID send money and supplies and I remember right, a lot of money was given to the 911 fund. I wonder about the supplies turned away Burma a couple of weeks ago. but it really isn't so much about that but that she can't find 5 minutes to stop by for my shower. It's right by her house. Maybe she invited me to her wedding reception thinking that I wouldn't come and would just send a gift? I don't know.
I am just hurt more than upset. It makes me feel like she doesn't even try but I guess the gift was her way of trying and my life is just in a different, more mature, place than hers. Having a baby puts life into perspective very quickly.

In case nobody mentioned it,
the cat could have a UTI or kidney stones. However, I had a cat that started urinating on the bed because we introduced a dog to the family and she didn't like the dog. Then the littlest thing would set her off, like using the vacuum cleaner, or DH staying out late. DH would come home, flop into bed, and shriek in a most unmanly fashion after landing in cold urine. I talked to a cat behaviorist, who told me to put out 7 different litterpans with all different types of litter. I couldn't live like that.
A second young cat we adopted at about 6 months of age played much too rough with me and with another cat we had. I had to take her back also.

to me, are also too restrictive. Cribs are for *infants* who are not mobile, as well as bassinets. Play pens and baby gates are for toddlers and are mostly for the parents, who do not wish to be *inconvenienced* by supervising their off spring. Puppies are pretty much mobile from the day they are born. If you begin training them early, you would not need to be afraid to leave them unsupervised if you needed to be gone. They would already know. Besides, since when are *material things* like carpeting and furniture more important than a living breathing being?? If a person does not want to take the time to supervise either a puppy OR a child, then they should not have either one. This is just my opinion. I am entitled to feel the way I do, as are you. Crate your dog if you wish too. Barricade your children, as you do not wish to be *inconvenienced* by their presence. Watch your tv, drink your drinks, have your fun, and call yourselves good parents and tell yourselves, and others, that you do these things for the *safety* of the children and the pets, and for the protection of your prized material belongings. It all comes down to selfishness. JMO

so this was the straw, you might as well say, that broke this camel's back. My hubs told me several times about things missing- I am not saying made from gold but stealing is still stealing whether you steal a pair of panties or my towels or cleaning solutions or whatever I have worked hard to get and why should I let anyone steal from me? And, bottom line on this, I brought her back over to my home to find the panties (I had placed in top drawer)- she opened the first drawer, the 2nd and the last and no panties- downcast eyes, never said she did not take. If I were accused of something I think I would speak up and say no, I did not do. She was the only person here besides me- and I let her "try to find them."

I notice many of my younger coworkers and children of coworkers cannot make anything that does not come out of a can or a box. I know that's a generalization too, but it sure seems to be true.

The fact that the 2 you picked up even mentioned
A long, long time ago, when I had just started working at a new job, a cute-looking guy who worked down stairs would always pass me on the stairs as I was going on my break. He seemed shy, we always just said hello. This went on for months. I liked him, but never talked to him for more than a few moments on the stairs.
Then, one morning, out of the blue, something really weird happened. As we passed each other, I said 'Hi!' as usual. After I was just past him, from behind, he said, 'Watch out, I might just rape you.'
????? Whaaaat.....???? Where on earth did THAT come from? I never spoke to him again.
Well, at about that time, there was a serial rapist in the area who over a period of time raped a lot of women in the nearby hills a popular hiking/jogging spot that I went to often, as well. He'd pick someone tired, offer to show them shortcut, and attack them in the wooded area he led them through.
Well, long story short, the guy I'd been saying hi to every morning at work, turned out to be that serial rapist! A late-20s-ish guy who was drop-dead cute, with an innocent-looking baby face. Boy, were my instincts ever NOT functioning with him, until he made that odd comment to me on the stairway! Before he made that comment, if I had bumped into him out at the hiking trail, I most surely would've gone along with him when he offered a short-cut, and become yet another statistic.

That water bottle you mentioned...
Don't give up on it too soon - and also try not to leave kittie alone in the rooms where she does the most damage. If you have to go out and leave her home alone, can you confine her to the bedroom while you're gone?
Two of our cats are really persistent about investigating the kitchen counters, and we keep a water bottle handy all the time, but they're slowly starting to realize that we mean it when we say, DOWN!
Also, we added a little vinegar to the water.
But like I said, it takes time and consistency with the water bottle method.

being used by a man turned into wearing nail polish? I am sure you weren't trying to be rude, Jen, but is this or is this not your post? I don't even know why I'm posting in this thread because I truly think it is ridiculous to assume because a man uses "smelly goods" that he's gay or a cheater no matter how old he is. There are a lot of men in this world and depending on how you grew up or where you grew up could make a difference in the way you present yourself. That is not to say that a more rugged man is less of a man than a more "salon-type" guy, but let's face it there are guys out there that act feminine and are not gay. I happen to know a very nice guy, grew up with him. He's a hairstylist, a very good one, and has a wife and a daughter that he loves dearly. I'm pretty sure he's not gay. I also think it is funny that the first responses to this OP was "get rid of him", or "he's up to something", both posted by divorcees I might add. I think I'm done now.
