to do the right thing - and what makes you think they would? the dog should have been impounded, they should have contacted the hospital for payment information - did they? No. The victim has to pay or her credit is screwed. Her insurance could refuse to pay - they could investigate the dog bite and see who the culprit was - but they choose to pay - so not fraudulent. The people have not done anything it sounds like and now you are very quick to jump on this mom who obviously made a few mistakes and just wants to know what to do next to correct them. Wow.

People, you just got to quit assuming!
I am born and raised in the south. I live in Georgia now and have for the past 40 something years. I do not eat crawfish, never. I eat ice cream and never heard the term "wet nuts" is that a term for boiled peanuts? If so, never had those either. I do not eat things like squirrel, rabbit and the like. In my home we cook with olive oil (never lard or grease), do not use flour in any cooking, don't even have it in our home, do not eat fast food items. At home we lean towards Italian dishes, husband makes a wonderful salad dressing with garlic, olive oil, herbs and the like and also makes a mean spaghetti. I love stromboli and love olives (remember I am a true Southern girl). Why in the world people assume because you were born or live in a certain part of the country means you are this way or that, I will never know. When you assume you are generally wrong. I learned that years ago and the posting above fits that category.
What is wrong with people?!
Last Friday I went into town to run some errands. The last stop on my list was WalMart to pick up a couple things for my husband.
As I am pulling into the parking lot, I stop for an ambulance that was coming out. Didn't have its lights on or anything but I could see through to the back and they had someone in the back. I go on into the parking lot and see a fire engine, then three more ambulances with their lights flashing and about 7 police cars.
What the heck? I sat in the car for a few minutes, not sure if they were letting people in, didn't have a clue what was going on. Finally, one of the cart guys comes out to get the carts next to my car and started to tell me what happened and yes, they are open.
I went in and there are clothes strewn about on the floor and in between the isles right behind the checkout lines. Police are everywhere interviewing people (assuming they were either involved or witnessed whatever happened.) There is also a woman lying on the floor in a backboard with paramedics swarming around her. I get my stuff and get the heck out as quickly as possible, still wondering exactly what was going on. So I checked the weekend paper, nothing about the incident and this is a very small town so if there was something happening, it would have been in the paper for sure.
Finally, yesterday's paper comes out and in the police blotter is a blurb about the incident at WalMart. I was shocked.
Apparently a 45 year old man, a 65 year old man, and a 60 year old woman started fighting over a place in line at the checkout and when employees tried to intervene, some of them were injured (though not seriously thankfully) as well. What? Are you serious? The store was not THAT busy and they were fighting over a place in line?
Is it any wonder that so many kids and young adults are rude, crude, and revert to acts of violence to get what they want? When adults, and MATURE adults at that, can't even behave themselves, it's no wonder!
If someone is in that big of a hurry to get out ahead of you, for crying out loud, let them go and don't make a fuss. Isn't worth getting assaulted over by any means. Especially in a store with a ton of small children tagging along with their parents to shop.
The notion that people who mean it don't talk about it is just plain wrong.
You need to do what you can to get him "committed" for at least a 48-hour hospital stay, so he can be professionally evaluated. Call the police, they have a protocol for these situations and in most states they have the authority to "commit" him if they believe he is a risk to himself or others. Suicide attempts peak this time of year...don't just blow him off or you may live to regret it. Good luck.
You are wrong. They don't resent "anybody on aid." Only the people who abuse the system, li

The above is what I am saying, not assuming like me2 and tm
Thanks so much for your post. A lot of the people posting against me are not really understanding what I am saying. Your post said exactly what I was writing in the first place. People who assume that I have not ever worked out of my home and I work now in the home because I wanted to are sooooooo wrong. I spent 45 years working inhouse, not only working away from my home but also taking children back and forth to various daycares, sitters and the like. We were sent home from the transcription dept, not by choice, but because the hospital wanted to enlarge and they wanted our place. Before speaking, you should really think about things because when you assume you are usually wrong, as in this case. I have children I raised and are out on their own now and have grandchildren. No, I don't like housework and I don't have to do it either as I have a housekeeper. Just my husband, pets and myself but I have a really big home and being as my husband is a chef, don't even do that. Own rental property, sold a home last year, debt free and take really wonderful vacations. I work part-time, hubby said could retire if I want to but enjoy my work as I have a strong work ethic, unlike, like I will say again, a lot of the posts I read on this. I have spent my time out from the house working but these oh, woe is me attitudes just make me want to think what in the world is the matter with these people. I will say once more, if they had to hold down a job away from their home, would never be able to make it, too many home items they have to take care of. Not professional when you have to worry about the baby diapers and what am I having for dinner (at work no less)! The problem with most that I am reading is they have never had to work at a real outside job. Probably better for them, wouldn't make it.
you are assuming...
I am not seeking revenge - we are not talking about sporned lovers or cheating business partners. I am seeking prevention of worse crime of all - crime against defenseless, innocent victims. You mention Easter; then lets at least agree on An Eye For An Eye - hit this human again and again, day after day, until his ribs are broken...however, this human can pick up the phone and get treatment for himself; the child and animal cannot, they can only suffer without understanding, and so this is not prevention enough and this human needs to be put away permanently.
Let's see, not assuming your age...
I bet you screamed at The Beatles when they were popular, and yet all on drugs! Give me a break! If those are your qualifications, then The Beatles are horrible role models....jeepers....
P.S. Insert whichever band you like, if Beatles are the wrong era. The point has been made.
Assuming once again and once again
have no earthly idea about what you are talking about. I had no idea I am supposed to feel safer. I can leave my doors unlocked because I am safer here than most folks. How crazy sounding is that? I moved in and had carpet but immediately set forth having my house tiled throughout. Oh gosh, was I supposed to ask someone about that before I did? Oops. I did not even ask their opinion. Sorry, will ask 2 times next time I decide to do that. I have a stand alone home. Maybe the fact you lived in a condo hooked on side by side was the reason they all looked alike. My community looks a lot different and I love the fact of speaking to the other neighbors when I want, not having them at my home 24/7. What is that about a fence and good neighbors? We have invisible fences. Five years here and counting. Best place I have ever lived. Sorry you had such a box of a place to live.
That's assuming they want them
If the other Jacksons want them and love them, fine. Or maybe they're not thrilled with the idea of raising some little white kids who they're not even related to.
Why is there so much assuming on this board
because once you assume you know what you are talking about, usually wrong as you are in this case. I took in my stepgrandchildren, 3 of them, 8, 13 and 15 and raised them for 3 years. Their mother on crack, their father in prison and they went around their real grandmother's home and she sold dope and illegal alcohol from her home. I went to their school, middle and grammer, endlessly. I saw things I never saw as I was growing up, so disrespectful to authority figures. The mother took son to crack house with her, kids lucky to eat 1 meal a day when not living with me. So instead of telling me I don't know, think I have probably lived it. I doubt all the kids getting the diagnosis of attention deficit really fit that category. Oh, tell me I don't know about that either, not so because a neighbor of mine used to get a check and had her son diagnosed just to get a check. Get your head out of the sand.
You are assuming I am atheist...I am not.
You think lightning bolts will strike me??? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
SHE?...poster was right on the assuming
I am not too far away, PAMT, assuming that's PA.
I should come with you! lol
A lot of assuming going on here. Did it happen or

Why so hostile? I am not assuming anything
Just asking for opinions that are based on the assumption that it is true. I was getting more responses wanting to know where I got the story and, no offense to anyone intended, but that is not what I needed or asked for, so I tried to politely redirect. Not looking for hostility either.
You are really assuming she has the ability
to speak English first, right? The person I know that gets welfare and section 8 could not construct a sentence. I think any single person who strives to have a gaggle like that has really some deep emotional problem going on.
Quit assuming...
You have no idea what you're talking about.
Assuming she has a newer TV
Aren't we supposed to switch to that 'all digital' thing sometime this month? I don't know what exactly that means to the average TV set. Is it as simple as the type of connection your antenna makes; i.e., coaxial cable, wires and screws, analog?
Since it is a small dog, assuming it's healthy,
it actually should not be hard to place. Do contact rescues in your area if you don't have a network of dog-loving people you really know well. Also vets' offices. See if they will put up signs. Sometimes when people lose a pet, they want to get a nice adult dog fast so they won't be alone.
I'm also in NC, and I know a woman who wants a small dog. She's in her 50s, either divored or widowed, needs a small, clean, adult dog that's already trained and won't cost her a fortune. Look for somebody like that.
Assuming- everyone's credit is poor?
Where in the world do you get that idea from? Quit assuming because when you do you are usually wrong- case in point. My credit is excellent and has been for years and years.
Told you about assuming. Said I should have bought. It was a gift and
my mother always said "don't look a gift horse in the mouth." Tsk, tsk.
Assuming your daughter is an adult, why make a difference?
a gift in return. If everyone is going to be together when gifts are exchanged, then I get them a little something, even if its a wal-mart gift card.
If they will not be there when you give your daughter and SIL a gift, then I guess you could skip them.
My true opinion is that adults, other than spouse and SO - do not need gifts. We do not buy the adult gifts in our family, but we have a big get together at our house and provide all the fixings and such, that is our gift.
You ead my response wrong, terribly wrong
I am trying to ask what does she think it will help, not being nasty- tell me and I will try this. I would stand on my head and gargle peanut butter if I thought it would help - I wanted to know why a letter? They are thumbing their noses at the courts - commanded to appear- I was there and they werent.
you can give the people the facts, but the decision making process should be left to the people
This is what our country is founded on FREEDOM OF CHOICE! I'm laughing already; you are just as mortal as the rest of us, and don' even attempt to that you've never done anything in your lifetime that was unsafe or unhealthy. NOT gonna buy it.
it is wonderful to see how many people have such strong opinions about people in debt.
I thought that the purpose of this board was to be able to post without being judged unfairly or have somebody tell you how wonderful their personal life is, and therefore you are causing their life to be less wonderful with your irresponsibility. Well, the saying "walk a mile in my shoes" is a good one in this case. Since you have no personal information about the person you are lambasting because they are looking for information on their debt, you can feel superior. Had you had personal information about them, you might act in a more human manner. Consider fighting cancer for 4 years, working and being debilitated while you do, suffering the effects of chemo, going into debt to maintain your home for your children and looking for a way out of debt SHOULD YOU EVEN LIVE THROUGH THIS!! Thank you for the kind comments. To the judgmental people I say please take a step back before you judge. You do not know who you are talking to and if you knew the personal information maybe your comments would be kinder.
I get frustrated by the double standard they use when judging people. They let certain people go sa
What do you think about the voting process?
People who go around calling other people "low class"
have their own issues in life. Ignore them. Nothing like a misplaced superiority complex to make a person feel good about themselves. Like they've never done anything gauche or made a faux pas. It must be nice for them to be so perfect and live in a glass house.
For that matter, you probably saved your piggy's life by popping that mondo zit! It could have gotten infected or something.... (yes, I have a zit popping fixation myself, but you were really descriptive on that pig zit. gag LOL)
Man, you would have appreciated the time one of my relative's popped a HUGE cyst on her face. I was standing right next to her at the time and leaned back because I knew it was going to blow. It did! Big time! All over the wall, mirror and light fixture. I'm still disgusted by the thought of it 10 years later. LOL In a revering kind of way...
some people did, some people didn't. It's their choice.

If this helps...I know people who know people (sm)
who can make people disappear.
Not really--I'd be lyin' if I said I never thought such things though! ;-)
IME, people don't feel sorry for fat people either
They actually have less sympathy than they do for people who have substance abuse, IME.
At any rate, I do feel sorry for Britney but the safety of her children should be everyone's first priority, then her safety. It would seem to me that all these hangers-on she has are jeopardizing that safety. It's all just very sad.
Please don't take this the wrong way
but after reading your note and the way he is "flirting" - sounds like he's thinking below the belt. Unless that's what your're interested in also he could be trouble.
Um, wrong!!!

what is wrong with you (OP)???
How in the WORLD is playing peek-a-boo with your child ICKY?? Wow, hope you aint a mom..........................
it is very sad, but you are wrong about these
horses being exploited. I have horses. I have been part of the horseracing business and my husband's life was spent riding racehorses. These are very well-taken care of animals, and by nature love to run. They generally work for minutes a day (except on race day) and then are pampered the rest of the time. There are exceptions, but these horses are very much loved by those that work with them. There was absolutely no monetary benefit to keeping Barbaro alive. They could have collected huge amounts of money through their insurance had they put him down right away. They could not breed this horse; Tb's cannot be AI'd. They tried to save this horse because they loved him and he had poured his heart out to run his best. Just yesterday after watching the Sunshine Millions races, i told my husband that they've tried long enough to save him, that it is time to put him down. I agree with that decision.
wrong -- MOST don't end up this way.
Many of these horses go to working ranches, competition of other kinds, like barrel racing, etc. There are also numerous organizations set up by the racing assocation and others to find them homes in the general population. If you really want to know where much of your packing plant horses come from, look at the BLM, wild mustangs. They sell here for $25. yup, even bred mares. So these people that have no heart, buy em and turn them around for a profit at the packing plants. BTW, a feed lot is generally a term for steers in a concentrated lot being fed-up for slaughter, and horses are used there to work the cows.
VERY wrong! What would
you think if you caught your husband in the same situation. It seems to have become an addiction. Stop now cold turkey. Read the 5 love languages book and see if you cannot reconnect with your hubbie or go get some marriage counseling.
Is this right or wrong?
I am a female in my early 40's and I have never been married and do not have children.
With every job I've had, some people feel the need to interrogate me about why I've never been married.
I never bring up the topic myself.
I usually answer, I've never found any one, maybe I will meet someone, etc.
I recently started a new job and have told co-workers when they ask if I've ever been married, I tell them I am divorced.
Now, I barely hear a peep about being single, whether these folks tell me they wish they were single or complain about their kids.
I just think it is rude to ask someone why they have never married. I would never ask someone why they married their spouse.
Is this right or wrong?
It's definitely wrong.
That you're so good in bed that limiting yourself to just one man would be a crime against humanity.
Then ask them, "Which one is YOUR husband, by the way?"
So everyone else was wrong, U only one to get it right? nm
nm
You are so wrong
As a former teacher, I'm appalled at your ignorance. Teachers start at salaries lower than truck drivers. Of course it varies from region to region, but generally it is about $28k to $29k. Some of these positions require a master's degree or a specialist degree, which is above the Bachelor's degree.
As far as the hours teachers work - they are really never off duty. They have papers to grade, meetings to attend, clubs to sponsors, committees to serve on, parents to phone, write, email, and and websites to update daily. Then, there are the workshops and/or college courses they have to attend to keep their credentials current.
Summer vacation? Who teaches summer school? Who works 1 or 2 jobs to supplement the lack of income for the 2 summer months, to keep up the student loan payments, take a college course or a workshop mandated by the school district or the state dept of education?
Then, there is the fact they aren't allowed to be human. If a teacher is seen drinking in public, smoking in public, or smacking their own child's bottom, they are bound to be pilloried by some self-righteous citizen.
You need to shadow a teacher for a week and then coime back and tell me how easy the job is and how well paid they are.
If it were easy, everyone would be doing it and we wouldn't have the teacher shortage we have.
Did I mention the number of teachers who are assaulted and permanently injured by their students every year? I'm waiting for 60 Minutes to do a story about that instead of the extremely rare but so publicized cases of teachers having sex with their students. Anyone else notice that it's the female teachers who get the publicity? I know a lot more male teachers having sex with their students - of both sex - than female teachers.
Nothing wrong with that-
it sounds like my friend who comes over to my house and hangs out with me and cleans my house for me. Sometimes I give her money when she needs it and I can afford it; Also she drives my other car and I pay the registration and insurance on it. She is unable to work and the amount of disability she gets is impossible to live on.
There's something wrong with her, all right! nm

Nothing wrong at all with it sm
The Clydesdales live at Grants Farm in St. Louis, a wonderful place to take children. The Budweiser story is rich with American history between President Grant and one of the founders of Budweiser's daughters - we took our 12 and 7 year old on a tour of both Grant's Farm and the Budweiser factory. The horses are beautiful a part of American history dating back into the 1800s. I would guess this box is worth far more than the $20 you paid for it.
My 2 cents.
So what's wrong with that?
How about what everybody uses wrong - me and I.
And it is always her and I or my husband and I or my daughter and I, no matter what the context.
Are you going with Mary and I to the show? WRONG!
She gave a nice gift to my husband and I and the kids?
WRONG!
And everybody does it and it drives me crazy. The RULE is so simple, just drop the first person or reverse it in your head, and there's your answer.
Are you going with.....ME?
Are you going with....me and Mary?
You wouldn't say, Are you going with I? Nor, are you going with I and Mary?
Please, people!
Thank you :)
lol
No you were not wrong, and if it were me (sm)
you better believe I'd be touching his stuff, moving it around, whatever would tick him off the most. Childish? Sure is, but so was what he did.
I think you are 100% wrong on this
The stories we are hearing now are so out there. I was born in the 40s and never, ever heard such crap when I was growing up, young teenage, young adult and so forth and I have always stayed up with the news, etc.I was just complaining of the same this morning about what people are doing now, school teachers having sex with 10 year old, people throwing their lives away for ?? I can honestly say these things NEVER happened in the 50s, 60s, 70s like they are happening now. I have lived these years and remember well. I have been aorund the block and so glad I don’t have young children now. Asking or telling them to move would make no difference with the kind she is talking about. A lot of kids killing now just for you saying anything to them. I, myself, would have called the police and got them to intervene. Saying something only sets you up for something worse.
So what's wrong with being gay? - nm
?
Yes, I'm wrong - UR right sm
I overheard a conversation at the butcher's about a weight loss product which was totally mispronounced and the conversation was truly disgusting about the person's side effects. My appetite was ruined. I didn't quite get the name. You are right, it is another product which name escapes me right now. I hear so many that I do get confused. I just wanted to check on these disgusting symptoms. Never mind, thanks!
only way to go wrong with B&B is if (sm)
the girl has perfume sensitivies. Achoo.
