Great minds think alike? :)
I was thinking about the recipe this weekend! Thought about trying to add cinnamon or maybe some dried cherries to the bread...wondering if bread lady has tried any variations of her recipe to split up the 4 loaves into different items. my weekends are usually pretty crazy but I hope to try it this weekend.
loved your post - great minds think alike!!

Great minds.....

The Shirelles came to my high school but Marvin Gaye was my favorite when I was 16 *How Sweet It Is (to be loved by you*....and The 4 Tops!!!!  OMG - how I loved them all and still do!!

[[But I  also was a huge Beatles fan and then a John Lennon freak (after a brief affair in my head with Paul when they first arrived)....LOL...and remained a John Lennon freak to this very day, he's actually framed and matted in my bedroom *grin*]]

You and I think alike - nm
x
Even more alike
I used to write poetry and song lyrics a lot too, and it sounds like we have the same issue with the longer writing projects.

I always think I am good at the general idea and would be good at the final drafting ... but sucky at all the work in the middle! Lol
We are absolutely nothing alike
Both of the females my brothers married are absoutely nothing like my mother, and my mother was absolutely nothing like my grandmother.

Don't get me wrong, I really like my MIL, she raised an incredible son and I think I am doing pretty much the same thing. That is about the only thing we have in common. LOL!
True cornbread- you and I are alike
on that. Have had all my life and never put cranberries in it. My aunt was just saying the other day she could taste her mother's dressing, rest her sweet soul. It was so good, put sausage in hers along with the cornbread, of course, no white bread filler.
Inquiring minds want to know....
So, Lee, did anything that anyone said have any impact on your decision on how you plan to handle this situation? Just curious.
Suspicious Minds?

It's Friday the 13th, which brings to mind various and sundry superstitions.  Does anyone have any superstitions about Friday the 13th?  I've never found anything particularly associated with the day/date, but know several people who are very leery of going out on any 13th which falls on a Friday.

Does anyone here have any superstitions or idiosyncracies regarding Friday the 13th or any other time of the year?

Wishing all of my fellow MTs a happy and productive day!!!

(My BF is taking me to see the movie, which is obviously being released today and then out to dinner.  It's an early Valentine's Day celebration and, yes, we're both very eclectic, lol!!!)

I have had this happen with relatives and friends alike - sm
I am actually surprised now when someone actually calls or writes to say they received something I sent and *thank you* for sending it. How sad is that? I was also told to send a thank-you note or call the sender the very day you receive their gift, no matter if you like it or not. After all, they cared enough to send SOMEthing. Guess we are a dying breed???
I've had a George-Clooney sound-alike
at most of my jobs, but so far haven't heard him yet at this job.

Too bad ...
Have people lost their frigging minds?
Just heard about the astronaut who supposedly accosted a love rival of hers after the astronaut put on a diaper so she would not have to stop on her journey, driving over 1000 miles from Texas to Orlando, catching up with the rival at her job, pepper spraying her and in rival's car when stopped she had rope, knives and the like. With all her background, her experience, her $$$$ pay, why does not 1 stop and wonder, hmmm there are more police than me, I probably would be caught doing something like this. I just cannot image throwing my life away, never.
Bones, House, Criminal Minds, and sm
all of the CSIs. I'm a big fan of the forensic shows. If I was younger and in better health, I would go into forensice science.
How funny! BTW, skunko, how did you get your unique name??? inquiring minds want to know!!......nm
nm
Stop making me laugh! If neither party minds, OK
XXX
I try to keep $50 stuck in there.......sm
that I don't even have in my check register. That little bit extra has saved me more than once.

It would really stink to have to pay that fee for a penny. Good luck with this!
stuck in UK MSN
I have noticed once in awhile I will be on the MSN page and then not be able to go anywhere else.  The search won't work and if I type an address in the address bar and hit enter, a note comes up saying that page is not available.  I just noticed it says UK MSN.  No idea how I got to that, but that must be what happens once in awhile.  Anyone have any info on this or have that happen?
cup stuck in the disposal
Can anyone tell me how to get a plastic juice glass out of a disposal in the sink.  It is at the top right by the opening?  Please help.
Remember, you are stuck out there for
who knows how long. Don't know if I would like that.
how funny!! you should have stuck a little cam in there with it like a nanny cam, lol. nm
;
stuck garbage disposal
Never mind, we were able to crack the glass and then get it out.
I'm with you, Hay, but I'm stuck in the days of disco! Think I
s
next time you wake up, tell him you stuck
a pickle up his while he was sleeping and he should go get it removed.
I'm stuck in a permanent time warp...

Ssss-Aaaa-Ffff-Eeee-Tttt-Yyyy....dance.....and everything else from that ambiguously androgynous era.

I miss Hayseed and her WebHamCam is stuck

Yes, I stuck to it and lost 30 pounds in 3 months (sm)
You may have increased your salt intake this week and be retaining water? (lots of Weight Watchers dishes are high in sodium)or could you have PMS retention? Also if you started exercising a lot and are building some muscle, you could have lost fat and replaced the fat weight with muscle weight - which is great since muscle is much more compact and burns more calories. A great free website that you might like is 3fatchicks on a diet...not sure of the exact web address but it is very popular and if you Google it you should be able to find it. Don't give up!! I need to go back on it actually!! I have been off the wagon (or is it on the wagon? lol) for a while now. Good luck!!
I had a report with a baseball stuck in a man's rectum -
when the nurses asked him why a baseball, he responded that his wife was not home and it seemed like a good idea at the time!!!
Oh, lighten up, SLC stuck in my mind as a nice place
because instead of it smelling like a garbage pile, it was the sweetest smelling place and I thought would just let someone know about it. With all that I have been thinking about regarding my aunt having to go to an assisted living or elsewhere, SLC was just a pleasant thought instead of a downer.
Why I stuck with MT after midlife crisis college degree
Lot of reasons, actually, not the least of which was that I was making some seriously good money as a medical biller at the time--and I hadn't burnt out yet. (I was also doing the transcription for 2 practices locally.) I also had an insane stubborn loyalty to my boss, and didn't want to leave him in the lurch. I got out of billing 2 years ago (well past burnout by then) and came home full time, still doing the transcription for the practice and one other, and still making good money at it.

But one reason I went back to school in the first place was because my boss had been making noises about quitting practice at some point, and he was so good (and I had him so very well-trained) I really couldn't see starting over again with another doctor who might not be so trainable. Not only that, the man is 11 years older than I, and it stood to reason he would retire before I would be ready to, so I would lose him eventually.

Last fall he closed his practice, actually going to work for another practice as an employee, not retiring quite yet, but despite his practically standing on his head on my behalf, the other practice didn't want to hire me. (Their loss.) That was when I had to find my first job with a national. Oh, joy. Welcome to the real world.

But I'll tell you what. There are some positive trade-offs. I don't have kids to stay home with... but I really, REALLY appreciate the mere 15-foot commute (I have a 4-1/2 year old car with still under 30k miles on it), the work wardrobe (pajamas), and best of all, the lack of B.S. and office politics. I get all the human contact I need between church and some other activities I participate in--places I choose to go and people I choose to see, rather than having people I don't get along with forced on me, as in the workplace. (Actually, I got along fine with them. They didn't get along with me. I just wanted them to not make my job harder. Was that too much to ask? Guess so. The last week I worked in the office, I had a sign on my wall that said "Others do not play well with me.")

The money in medical billing was nice, but it was costing me far too much. Meanwhile, I've used some of my info tech skills with a few freelance jobs for friends (website design, database design) but I have discovered that I really, really do NOT want to be responsible for maintaining somebody else's systems.... I also figured out really quickly after my business management classes (and being billing department head) that I am NOT cut out to be a manager. Trouble with management is that you have to . . . manage people. It's like herding cats. No, thank you.

So I haven't completely ruled out doing something else with my life, if I ever figure out what I want to be when I grow up... but for now, despite the massive pay cut I have taken, I am willing to hang in there as an MT because of the positive trade-offs I mentioned above. Plus... I've been doing this for 37 years, and I'm bloody good at it, if I do say so myself. :)

Does that answer the question? Anything else I can expound upon for the hopeful enlightenment of all?

Disclaimer: This has been MY chosen route, and for right now, it's right for ME. Others' mileage may vary. :)
Limbo. Great song, great game. Also,

The girls all line up and walk through a room as if they are modeling on the catwalk. Get a couple of bright colored boa's from the party store. It's a real riot and the kids have a blast especially if a couple of brave boys grab a boa and do it too.  We've had many a birthday party doing this and it was totally hilarious.

Wow!! What a great attitude! I love that - great perspective!

What great determination and help from a great friend! :) nm
s
I am sure that you are a great mother and a great cook,
and that you tried everything, now try the 'hunger diet'.
Great one! Thanks!! nm
nm
That's great!!
A great big congrats to your daughter! She is so fortunate to have such a supportive and helpful family!!
Did he say anything at all about how great a new job for you would be? I'd keep an eye on him as
s
Wow, that's great!

We had always said 3 and that's when we stopped.  They are all teenagers now.  Wouldn't change a thing either.

That was great.
I'm glad they did that. What fun. Not only was he thin, but his clothes were nice. No jump suit. I preferred his hair when it was his natural brown rather than the black dye job.
That's great - sm
I'm glad I don't need them anymore then! Also check with your state regarding laws about those things. For example, in Florida you are only allowed to borrow 500, in which case I would be weary of anyone offering more. Thanks for the tip - looks like you should be advising me!
Great, thanks!
I listen and take all ideas I can.
My mom did it and it looks great.
She did not fill in the cracks, and it looks great simply painted.

DS, he does a great job.
e
For her age, I don't think she looks great at all
isn't she around 20? She looks more like 30 and haggard half the time. Oh, and you too can have that body with the cocaine/alcohol-only diet! Get real!

She is such a piece of garbage. But they say her mother is too (was desperate for fame so pushed her daughter into the spotlight) and her dad as well (didn't he just get released from prison)?

Sad.
That's great! Another one sm
I haven't seen Chuck and Larry yet, but will definitely ignore the reviews and see it. I love good comedies.

Another one, if you haven't seen it, is the Wedding Crashers. I thought it was just supposed to be a silly romantic comedy, but my daughter and watched it on cable last weekend and I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud, spewing drink laughing, in some time. See that movie.
I think it would be a great job (sm)
True they don't pay real high but you are at your kids school, no child care costs, good benefits, and summers off - sounds pretty good to me!!! They are hard to get where I live also though. Best wishes to you!
That was great. Thanks. (nm)
.
Great Job
There should be more people like you!
They have been a great help to me
in dealing with a similiar situation with a family member. Sometimes you hear things that you don't want to hear but the people in these groups have been in your shoes and they understand what you're going through like no one else.
I got to do this. It was great.
I contacted her because I was going to the 20-year reunion. I couldn't talk her into going, but I did get her to meet me for another trip back home.

There was plenty to talk about. It was great.
Have a great

weekend everybody

Thanks. Those were great! nm
