someone got out of a really bad situation and worked hard and made it and is now happily married. That's the dream.

Doesn't offend me to hear Happy Holidays, Happy Hannuka...sm
or any way someone wants to greet me. As a basic rule, people use the greeting most comfortable to the speaker. What does burn my butt is when someone tries to tell me that my comfortable greeting of "Merry Christmas" is not appropriate. To those who are not concerned with my comfort, I have no concern for theirs.

Merry Christmas to all.
My husband and I have had great success with Chantix
Would highly recommend to anyone who really wants to quit - always remember there is no magic pill but with Chantix, this is the best so far they have come out with - we have been smoke free since October and we both smoked heavily for over 30 years.
I'm so happy to hear that
Congratulations. My daughter and I just started WW also and she's lost 8 pounds and I'm down 6, but we use the points system and it's so easy to follow. I have about 20 more to lose and my daughter wants to lose another 15 or so. We're actually just doing it on our own with the help of a WW information that my friend gave to us.
So happy to hear all is well!
Wow... 20 pounds is a big guy! Is he a Maine Coon? I hear they can get up there, too. My Persians are small - one is 9 pounds, and the little one (10 years old) is only 6.5 pounds! Fur included! ;D
Happy to hear you feel better...One thing though..sm
When it comes to federal income tax withheld from your daughter, I know for a fact that if the local welfare office or whoever is responsible for making sure she pays or they pay, doesn't send in a "flag" with their SS#'s to the IRS every 3 months or so, the IRS will NOT withhold any income tax refund from your daughter or SIL. My mother went through this with my sister-in-law. Fast forward, 26 years later, she is still in arrears to a tune of 10,000K. The only way any refund was w/h from her was when I called the IRS myself and gave them her SS# repeatedly, because they were not getting the info from the local courts....IRS guy said the courts are suppose to send the info with SS# regularly but they rarely do, so refunds are not withheld. Even now, in order for my mom to get child support that is due to her, WE have to find the trash (she is on her 4th marriage and moves all the time), prove she lives there or works there, then get the local judge here to send the proper papers to where she lives, to that judge, and then he will decide how to make her pay. I hope your daughter and SIL stay up to date on payments, or you will have to fight your way through the system and still never see a penny.
I am SO happy to hear the good news - sm
Have you tried offering her the AD food you get from your vet mixed with Pedialite? Very high in nutrition. I also like to offer them the meat baby foods and small pieces of ham or whatever else they like. Cherish every day with her. Love her. Put her needs before your own no matter what. I think you will know when it is time to let her go. Focus on the joy she has brought you over her lifetime. I will be thinking about the two of you. :-)
Hope you have a happy ending to your story....sm
Feedback, anyone?

Sure, read on...

Okay, I just had to have a safe place to share this. Can I tell you a story?

Thanks for sharing, but actually this is one of the oldest stories on earth....

Forty-one years ago, when I was thirteen, I got my first kiss. I lived on an American base in Germany at the time. He was a sophomore and I was an 8th grader.

Well, you're 54 now and remembering your first kiss. That's a memory and an adventure to always treasure. He's around, what, 60 now? You both sound ripe for personal crises to me...

I had asked him to the Sadie Hawkins Day dance the next Friday. He really seemed to like me.

Hm...you were bold and took a chance. You "thought" he liked you...you were young and innocent...

Then on Friday, at the door to the dance he suddenly decided to go stag.

Hm...perhaps he didn't like you as much as you first thought...

I was absolutely devastated, but for some reason didn't think of him as a Jerk.

Perhaps you should have thought of him as a jerk; he acted like one...and he still is by trying to lure you away from your marriage and family.

I figured it was something I'd done.

I don't know why you would assume it was something you'd done when HE DUMPED YOU at the door of the dance. You were young and innocent.

I moved away less than a year later.

...and he let you go without a word, didn't he?...

Fast forward - It's forty-one years later. I'm married, content, two kids in high school.

Key words here...MARRIED, CONTENT, KIDS.

I get a message on Classmates.com that he's trying to locate me. I email him, say hi - my husband flakes out.

Key words here...MARRIED, CONTENT, HUSBAND, KIDS. Of course husband "flakes out"!!

I promise I won't anymore.

because of key words here...MARRIED, CONTENT, HUSBAND, KIDS. Not so young and innocent anymore but still able to see the error of your ways...

My curosity gets the best of me and I set up a secret email account and email him.

Key words here? LYING, CHEATING, AND SELFISHNESS.

He lives 900 miles away but on the same coast, but the connection is immediate and strong and irresistable.

Of course it is...because it's forbidden fruit and greener grass, and a DECEPTION AND A LIE AND SELFISHNESS ON BOTH YOUR PARTS.

We've agreed not to meet yet, that I should not mess up my marriage.

Key words here being MARRIED, CONTENT, HUSBAND, KIDS, right?

There's no kinky stuff going on. But we're falling in love.

No, you're not; it just FEELS like it but LOVE is not a FEELING. LOVE is an ACT OF WILL. You are in LOVE with your husband. You are in LUST with Mr. Same Coast.

So now I'm leading a double life. Half of it is by email, half of it is reality here at home.

Well, like I said, it's really one of the oldest stories on the planet. I can GUARANTEE YOU that you will REGRET living this double life. It will suck your soul dry...

I've never been happier or more conflicted.

You're happy because you love the ATTENTION and feeling DESIRABLE but deep down you are conflicted because you know that the key words here are CONTENT, MARRIED, HUSBAND, KIDS. Any man who would tempt a married woman to commit adultery cannot and should not be trusted no matter how "honey coated" their language is.

END IT, DUMP HIM, and channel all those "feelings" back into your current relationship WHERE THEY BELONG.

That's the only way your story will ever have a happy ending.

Good Luck!
Yeah, and I want to hear Richard's back story.
I think that's his name - the guy who was an adult when Ben was young, but hasn't aged at all. I am starting to wonder if maybe he is friends with Jacob also, unknown to Ben. Okay, maybe I think about him because he has such pretty eyes, LOL.

I have been to some of the message boards for lost, and there are some very wild theories there, so maybe the creators are trying to get the fans back on track, LOL. But DH didn't hear too much that was new either. I missed a couple of episodes in season 1. I couldn't believe all the monster stuff. I thought the show had jumped the shark already! But DH was still watching it and I got sucked back in.
Wow, that's great to *hear* and know..sm

and you being from upstate NY, I KNOW you definitely know what a true NY Bagel is!!!

Nice to know they are good in MN too (a place I have yet to see).

You know, that is great to hear and you know
it can happen as it happened in your family. Really has hurt my feelings. Her family has no outside friends, all relatives are the friends and so close knit, just like 1 blends into the other. That is ok also but I would have loved to been able to have some semblence of my son. By the way they have children and those are the only grandchildren so I have lost all the way around. They were not even brought around me like her side and both grandmothers lived really close to each other so not a big travel distance. I used to cry a lot about that. I always had my children growing up to spend time equally between all, not just the chosen ones.
that's a GREAT story - don't get mad, get even...

What a great story.
I hope they both sleep happily on (or in) your bed and there is still room for you. :o)

I remember my DH one time coming into the bedroom and launching himself into the air, planning to land on the bed next to me. That's when I had to announce that there was a cat under the covers he was about to land on, so he had to change his plan in mid-air.
Great story! NM

That is so great!!! Glad to hear!! nm

Want to wish you success!
I am also on a diet similar to Adkins and have lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks so you go girl!!  Water or not, it is nice to see the scale move.  My mind is in the game for the long haul and that is what I wanted.  The weight will come off (need to take off about 55 pds).  I cannot exercise much due to other issues but the weight will come off!  Again, good luck!
SUCCESS !!! :D - (sm)
Thanks again for your help. You were right: first turn on water, then power. I just ran my first load, and have just my first load of clean clothes in the dryer (which also works well), all without flooding the apartment, incinerating the clothes or the washer motor, electrocuting myself, or knocking out the power to the entire town. Because of my inherently distrustful nature, though, I WAS prepared for disaster. I had the drain tube weighted down in the sink with a heavy pot, so that it wouldn't jump out of the sink and flood the floor. I kept the slack in the electrical cord up off the floor, just in case. I created a 'floor dam' out of big towels around it, just in case the tub leaked. Finally, I put a wooden stool in front of the washer, so I could stand on it just in case the floor flooded, all he*l broke loose, and I had to somehow get to the cord to disconnect it from the power source without getting myself toasted. Fortunately, none of that extra preparation was needed. I also got online and did my homework about detergents. Good thing I did! Turns out these little mini-guys take only liquid detergent of the 'HE' (high-efficiency), low sudsing type. (I'm SO glad I didn't mistakenly put my regular-sudsing powder into it!) Not only that, but according to my online gurus, the washer only needs one TEASPOON of detergent per load. One teaspoon! Imagine that! One bottle of Wisk or Tide will probably last half a year, at that rate!

So HURRAH! No more trips to that filthy, noisy, total RIP-OFF laundrymat! No more wasted time & gasoline! (Except for when I have to wash heavy things like comforters or blankets, that is, but at least that doesn't have to be done that often, especially with those wonderful, lightweight, sheet-like duvet covers!) I can wash sheets, towels & duvet covers in the washer.

Now, if I could just learn how to fold fitted sheets! (I always try, then finally give up, and wad them up into a corner somewhere.

Has anyone had any weight loss success
How about other rx medications?  I am thinking about trying the rx route, wondering if anyone could suggest a particular drug.  Thanks!!!
Anyone have success with Jenny Craig?

I would be interested in hearing your experiences.  Is the food as good as they say?  Val looks great!!!

My rescuing was a success today
I was able to get a mother with her 2 puppies, another puppy and 2 more adult dogs, a total of 5 lives saved. I am working with a lady who rehomes these. I am so pleased with my new "job."
What I have had success with when introducing new cats - sm
Go slowly.  My plan is this:  Put the resident cat in a room alone with what they need for a few hours.  Let the new kitty out to explore the new house with your supervision and lots of praise and support if they need it.  Put the new kitty away and let the resident kitty out to do his thing.  He will smell another cat has been there.  Do NOT let the cats see each other at this point.  Follow this little drill a few times a day.  I would say, based on the age of your cat, to give it about a week before you let them out together and then only with supervision.  You also might only be able to let them out together for a short time each day in order to have some distance from one another.  I would make their interactions a lot of fun with toys and maybe a catnip party!  I have had a dozen cats in my lifetime and done this many times with 100% success.  Let the cats set the pace and do not rush them.  Best wishes to you!
We always use VRBO and have had huge success with condos...nm

Both my mom and aunt have had very good success with it. My mom, smoker for over 40 years, quit cold
turkey and says Chantix is the best drug out there - she tried everything!

I see that there are mixed feelings about this drug as with all drugs. Works for some and doesn't work that well with others. Sorry to hear about their experience!
Our kids got their own credit/debit cards when they hit 18 and got jobs. Their success or lack of

Hubs had me a delicious huge chocolate cake this morning and daughter coming over for pizza tonight, oh forgot working today also but like I said, hard to give this terrific life up, that is a life in between my working!
Do You Hear What I Hear and Little Drummer Boy
I love the holiday!

Did not hear about the porn but did hear
there might be a conflict about her babies going home with her when they were able to be dismissed. You can hardly blame anyone for questioning how she will take care of them. From what I have seen, she hardly seems stable enough to do that.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. Hope it is a good one. nm

Limbo. Great song, great game. Also,

The girls all line up and walk through a room as if they are modeling on the catwalk. Get a couple of bright colored boa's from the party store. It's a real riot and the kids have a blast especially if a couple of brave boys grab a boa and do it too.  We've had many a birthday party doing this and it was totally hilarious.

Wow!! What a great attitude! I love that - great perspective!

I am sure that you are a great mother and a great cook,
and that you tried everything, now try the 'hunger diet'.
I hear ya........

Look - I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but
I speak from experience - and many advice experts will say the same thing - if a man is interested in you, he will ask YOU out. Just like if you go out with a man and at the end of the night you ask him to come into your home, and he doesn't - then he's not that into it. It doesn't matter what he has going on in his life, men make time for women they are interested in! They are never that busy that they cannot call you - that's just a lie. They make the time to talk for one minute because THEY ARE INTO YOU!! If you have to ask a man out, think about it - what was wrong with him?? WHy couldn't he approach you? He knows how to open his mouth and say "hey, I don't know if you're single or seeing someone, but I was wondering if you .... "

Don't ask him out. Let him pursue you. It's old fashioned, but hey, it still holds true.
I am so sorry to hear that. It does cause
actual physical pain to lose a special pet. I have wished I could cut my heart out to end it, or be PTS alongside my poor dog. What a shock to lose such a young cat. I am sorry.
sorry to hear that, don't know what to say...sm

Sorry to hear this happened to you, don't know what to say, but this has never happened to me, and both my CPA and the other person, a corporate estate tax person, say that I'm legal and nobody has come after me or notified me that I am in the wrong....

I hear what you are saying
Personally, the wrinkles start showing in my face if I am too thin. I need a little weight on my to look good...unfortunately, it is all on my hips and glutes...LOL
You are what you eat, so I hear
and if a person wants to be a supersized so be it. Got off Cokes on my own after marrying my hubby, used to drink loads of those and I never feel like I am not living by the way I eat because I also love sweets and if I want I have them. I just don't care for any of my foods supersized, be it a drink or a hamburger, just too much to consume for me and the amount of calories you get plus the fact of it just not being that healthy for you. I would put my delicious food up against any fast (fat) food place any ole day. I just like taste with my food.
So sorry to hear that....
Our cat is getting older now, and I hope she lives forever, but....   I'm so sorry for your loss!  It is truly a loss to lose a much-loved pet!  Take care...  my thoughts are with you today....
I am so sorry to hear you are going through this.
But with her compression fractures, and probably the COPD also, there was no way the MDs could have coded her. Her bones (and probably lungs) wouldn't take it. At least that's what they told my grandfather about my grandmother when she had leukemia. He found out the doctors made her DNR without talking to him, and he found out after she passed away.
