That's the problem

"religion" yuck, what a word.
Now FAITH, that's something important.
I have FAITH in my Father, and FAITH in the death and resurrection of Christ.
Group think? Hardly. My relationship with Christ is personal. I have moments of elation, I have moments of disappointment, I have moments of doubt, and I have moments of temper tantrums. He is my Father, and I his Child. I question. But when I question I search. Seek and find.
I understand why so many people leave the church. I do. I'm fortunate enough to be in a small church where everyone is encouraged to question and the leader is constantly aware of the fact that he was chosen by God and therefore he preaches nothing but the Bible. No adding or taking away. Which, nowadays, doesn't happen a lot. Most preachers preach THEIR message and back it up with scripture. He preaches scripture and only interjects HIS thoughts to relate the scripture to common life issues, etc. That's how it should be.
The whole original point of "the church" was for us to gather together and support and encourage one another. Go figure, we screwed that up!
