I don't have a lot of debt but have not been able to pay the stuff I had just trying to stay in my home and keep my car and insurance and that sort of thing. Prior to that, everything was paid timely and more than minimum. I am not going to talk to the first person I get on the phone and get the business. I plan to talk and follow up in writing and pay them down in a way that will take each balance and get it down and then apply the finished money to the next card in line. There are only 3 and I am only talking about 3K but when you do not have it what the heck .. it might as well be 50! I want them to reverse the fees and I will pay in full and if not then I will pay it off monthly and they will wait. It is horrible how they rack up those fees. I have no problem paying off what I spent .. but I am not going to fund others who will not do what I am willing to do. Thank you all again for your great advice. I knew in my heart I was not alone but it sure helps to know it for sure. My word of advice would be to be extremely careful when considering employment - I feel that the position I was offered never really existed and after the information was gotten that the owner of the company I went with saw no need to meet his commitment to me. That means I also have had no health insurance for half a year. I am climbing out of the hole, but it has been a blow to me and it has taken time to find a company that I could trust. I say a little prayer every day not to get in my car and go and do bodily harm to the jerk who really upset my life and nearly bankrupted me.
