DH had an idea that I might try giving her second dose of prednisone and other meds a little earlier, say 5:00 instead of 7:00 p.m. It worked to prevent her from crashing in the evening hours when we need her to take her meal and be alert while we can spend time with her. I was still taking her out to do her business in case she forgot, but she was so interested in sniffing every inch of the front yard that the four of us decided to try a walk. She did great on a short walk and didn't crash into a heap or lose her balance. She sniffed a lot, but she was happy, and so were we. We probably won't have any of the latest blood work back to see if it's lupus (SLE) or something else the vet is checking for. He mentioned viral meningitis, and she is also taking an antibiotic in case it is bacterial, but I fear the medicine that's working is just the prednisone, and if that's what's helping it doesn't help distinguish lupus from a tumor or anything that could cause pressure or swelling on the brain.

But I didn't cry at all tonight. Yay!
