A Middletown teenager is expected to be in court this week for allegedly ordering more than $37,000 of candy online to be charged to Middletown High School.
Jad Holmes, 18, is scheduled to be in Middletown Municipal Court on Wednesday, Feb. 11, for two counts of telecommunications fraud, both fifth-degree felonies, according to court records.
Holmes is accused of placing two orders — for $19,880 and $17,372, respectively — through a Michigan-based company, according to police records.
The order was to be shipped to his address and billed to Middletown High School, records show.
After taking possession of one order, he was arrested by Middletown police, according to records.
Holmes also is charged with two counts of theft of drugs, both fourth-degree felonies, according to court records.
He's being held in Middletown City Jail on a bond of $30,700, according to jail records.

My 3 teenagers and I went together and
got dad/husband a laptop computer. It was their idea and he is hard to buy for so we went for it. He was STUNNED! It felt great to surprise him like that.

Again, it's not good she got pregnant at 16, but that doesn't mean her child is doomed for life or that she is either. I am very familiar with the foster system and family court, and there are millions upon millions of HORRIBLE parents out there of ALL ages. You can't really say just because the mother is young she will be a bad mother. There are many other factors.
Maybe teenagers having sex offends you, but they have done it since the beginning of time and will continue to do it until the end of time. Simple as that. They should always use condoms, but even condoms can break, so there will always be teen pregnancy. But wait, have you never committed a sin? Is that why you can judge teens having sex so harshly?

Would anyone here let their 13-yo daughter hang out in your front yard with 3 neighborhood boys, ages 13, 14 and 15?
Also wondering what other people think about allowing a 13-yo girl to go a pizza place to hang out/have pizza with boys (no adults)?
This is not something I feel comfortable with but my daughter is trying to tell me this is something other girls her age are allowed to do. What do you all think?
Having teenagers, one thing that
concerns me is the easy access to internet porn and that they'll think being treated like that or treating others like that is how it's supposed to be. There's some sick crap out there, and so much of it is so degrading to women.
That is rude, but most teenagers today are.
Nothing we can do about that unfortunately.
Teenagers and Cell Phones
We plan on getting our 13-year-old daughter a cell phone for Christmas. She does a lot of afterschool activities and I want her to be able to reach us at all times. But we're getting her the prepaid trac phone. We already told her, don't expect a fancy phone with a camera and texting capabilities (you can text with the trac phones, but it just takes away your time). If she doesn't accept that, then no cell phone. My husband had a friend at work whose daughter's cell phone bill was $600 one month. I can see that happening with a teenaged daughter.
Teenagers and immature adults
have always thought it was cool to "shock" people. Poor Britney lived for it, and ended up flashing her nether-regions and then completely ran out of ways to shock people ... no wait, that only left shaving her head on camera. < eye roll >
Pregnant unmarried Teenagers!
I know and have known of several it is as old as time itself and will continue to be ~I know when I was a teen My mother would threaten us to be sent to a home for unwed mothers fear of God she put in us girls- now It is an everyday thing even to put daycare centers in for them lotsa free stuff so where is the sting? Is there one? or is it no big thing anymore!
Mine are teenagers now so they don't ride a bus
but when they were little their bus driver was a member of our church. Her husband is also a bus driver and works for my husband part-time. I know there are lots of crazies out there, just don't lump "all" bus drivers in that catagory.
Shouldn't teenagers at least have at home ....sm

That sounds so nice. With teenagers we seem to always be busy
on Sundays. Until just a few weeks ago I could say that 5 out of 7 days we all had dinner together. Both my kids now have after school jobs. Each only work 2-3 days a week but this week the only night we will all be together is Wednesday.

Although so many posters are telling this is normal, I was disturbed by your original post because you seemed alarmed at his tone of voice. Of course kids say hateful things to each other all the time, but the fact that a 10yo would say this to his mother, not in the heat of anger directed his sister, tolls the alarm bell.
It is normal for siblings to fight, but there is also plenty of abuse within families which would never be tolerated if a stranger were to do. I've seen people whose children have thrown scissors, at each, stuck forks in a sibling's tongue, broken bones on purpose, and they parents have actually tolerated this.
You sound a great mom. You recognize his perfectionism which he needs to learn to recognize and deal with as soon as possible. The very best to you and your family.

How do you check the history?
This may sound dumb...
but it's driving me crazy. Does anyone remember a Jewish actress, around 60-ish now, with very short dark red hair, very prominent features, large nose. I think she played in a sitcom maybe as someone's mom. We saw her tonight in New York and all recognized her but none of us can remember what show she was on! Just wondering if anyone might be able to help us figure this out.

Why do you need to get your husband off to work? You should be in bed sleepng - you need uninterrupted sleep, not 3-hour and 4 hour-long naps.

I noticed on some movies set in the 60s and 70s that if there were doctors in them, they always seemed to have their black bag at the ready. Is that something docs do nowadays or did that go the way of the housecall with the advent of the malpractice suit? Just curious.

Forgive my ignorance
I have what probably is a dumb question (sm)
We live in a not so great house on a piece of land on the water that has been going up in value. The appraisal value of the house is $65,000, market value $250,000 with the land. People are always looking to buy property out here. My question is, when we do decide to sell, what would we probably get? Or even ask for? Chances are they would tear the house down anyway and build a new one.

You are right on track. Right now don't worry about divorce or not. Take advantage of NOW while you can and get to school. Medical transcription has no where to go now. There is no bright future for it where you can "advance your career." I too am in a marriage I would leave if I could, but I want to be smart about it and get that education first.

I would have sent the kid home last night when he condescended to you at the end of the first argument. If he is almost 11 and hasn't learned to respect other people's rules, he probably will never learn this lesson. Attitudes are pretty well set by that age and if he gets away with that kind of behavior at home, he's going to have a tough row to hoe in the real world.
Congrats to you! I would not have that kid in my house again if I were you and I would your son and that boy know the reason why.

a typical woman who has been living in an abusive situation for an extended period of time. I can relate, especially to the part about being intelligent about everything EXCEPT this one thing.
The chance is there for the taking. Right now, you're just spinning your wheels, and revving up your hot rod for the main event. If I am understanding you correctly, it seems that your main issue has to do with the custody arrangement and your feeling the need to prove the abuse in the court to influence the outcome. Bottom line is this. That situation is NOT in your control. All you can do is your best. You stress to your attorney your concerns about unsupervised visitation and testify to that in no uncertain terms should you end up in a hearing. Then you hope and pray for the best. Beyond that, you accept the courts ruling and deal with it THEN, not now. It is not a foregone conclusion that your kids will become his target once you remove yourself from the mix. Hopefully, anger mgmt will be part of any sane custody arrangement and I think it is highly unlikely that he will be getting joint custody.

Use has decreased a lot, and for the second year in a row, cancer rates have dropped substantially. But I don't know anything about risks of short-term use, and maybe that's what you are considering.
