I have this awesome recipe for hot italian subs..yummy. we had this tonight! sm
You take 2 Pillsbury french bread refrigerated rolls and make them into one big circle by combining the two.
Combine 4 T melted butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese and brush on top of bread. Bake for 15 minutes.
After bread is nice and brown, slice the ring horizontally making one large ring-type sandwich. Use your favorite deli meats and cheeses; turkey, ham, provolone, salami, pepper jack, American, pepperoni, etc. Place these on the break and bake open-faced for another 3-4 minutes. When done melting cheese add Italian dressing to the sandwich.
This is a Pampered Chef recipe that cooks very well on their round baker. It's a hit every time. I didn't have turkey but had plenty of left over ham from Christmas so I used ham and provolone.
The Pillsbury rolls are very easy to find AND I've seen them buy 1 get 1 free a few times so I will stock up and get 6 or 8 of them for this meal. Good luck!
While that is cooking
That sounds yummy, I'm going to
try it. I am assuming that would be the Italian dressing in the bottle that is not creamy (white?), but the one that likes like oil with seasonings or is it the powdered kind in the packet?
Sounds yummy!! (nm)

Where did the recipe board go?sm
I am looking for a dessert recipe that will hold up in traveling. I am driving to a graduation party two hours away. I live in New England and right now it is super hot. I can put it on ice. I do not know what to bring. This person is constantly bringing something to our house when she comes. A plant, a bottle of wine, a candle etc. The party is being catered (in their backyard) so I am thinking more on the way of a dessert. Any suggestions?
Care to share the receipe? sounds yummy! nm
!
That sounds so YUMMY especially with me craving coffee big time right now!
I have always thought about doing the Gevalia thing. You'll have to let us know how it compares and if it's worth the money.
Would LOVE to see the recipe board come back!
Hopefully the rest of you feel the same in this economy and with the holidays coming up. Perhaps a moderator will look into it.
I don't have the recipe, but it sounds WONDERFUL. sm
If you do find it, would you please post it for us? Thanks!
That sounds so good. Thanks for the recipe. NM

Could someone tell me if there is a Christianity board as well as a prayer board (sm)
or are they one in the same? I have some faith related questions, but don't want to post on the prayer board again if it is specifically for prayer requests. I do not see a Christianity board listed. Thanks so much.
Main board, gab board, company, etc, just like here,

Yummy!
I forgot about twice baked potatoes. I also have my own take on that idea and we havent' had it in a while. Mine works well with leftover mashed potatoes too, which to me are always hard to re-invent.
I mix the potatoes with the usual butter, S&P, a little milk to loosen, then add sour cream, chopped bacon (which I store in the freezer pre-cooked leftover from breakfast), then I add chunked cheddar cheese and sometimes mashed roasted garlic if I have it. Mix all this up, toss in a 13x9 or whatever is closest in size, but extra butter on top and toss in the oven to heat and get a little brown on top. Its also great to make ahead and have waiting in the fridge. :)
I think I might try your mushroom addition, sounds delicious!

Yummy! And I just gobbled down McD's UGH!

Yummy Recipes
I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie. The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other. Not bad for the price!

She's rich ($$$$$$$$$) at this point.... :) Not another show featuring cardboard and fake cooking sprays? Do we really need another show for "light eating"? Our elders lived long lives on lard...... :) Keep on cookin', just don't eat that heavy stuff every day/night! Enjoy....

naw - that was the old board that did that, aka the 'other' board!
why was it here and not on the Politics board anyway?
Dessert? I'm making a Tres Leches cake for the 24th! yummy.
This is fairly easy to make. Some people just make a regular yellow cake from the box, ie. Betty Crocker or Haines. I like more the homemade taste.
Cream Cake (Tres Leches)
Yield: 10 to 12 servings
Ingredients:
The Cake: 3 eggs 1 cup sugar ¼ cup milk 1 cup all-purpose pour 1½ teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
The Cream Filling: 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
The Frosting: 1 cup whipping cream
Method:
The Cake: Preheat oven to 350ºF. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites unti1 fluffy. Add the sugar gradually and mix well. Blend in the egg yolks, one at a time. Alternately blend in the milk, flour, and baking powder. Add the vanilla and blend well. Pour into a greased, square baking pan, and bake 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the cake comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and pierce it with a fork, making little holes evenly over the surface. Set aside to cool.
The Cream Filling: In a large bowl, mix condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until well blended. Slowly pour the mixture over the top of the cake.
The Frosting: Beat whipping cream until stiff. Spread over cake.
Put in the frig and serve cold. Some people do add liquor to taste, such as brandy or rum.

French toast using texas test bar-b-que bread. Yummy. Potato casserole is sm
the best, too!
southern style potatoes frozen (ore-ida)
1 can cream of chicken soap
8 ounces sour cream
1 stick butter
1 package mild cheddar cheest
mix all ingredients and bake for 45 minutes
Then if you want to add a meat such as ham or bacon you can do that.
You may be, from the sounds of your posts, sounds like an *illegal*
and that in itself is a crime. Nobody else would take 65.00 for an entire day slaving/laundry, heavy cleaning, etc. LOL. Nah, I don't think so. I'm just saying, what it sounds like to me. : )
He sounds wonderful...sounds like you two have a relationship (sm)
based on love and nothing superficial at all. I'm glad you appreciate him and are so grateful for him. Best wishes & continued happiness to you both :-)
Recipe
I love this and you can use a variety of types of yogurts/berries.
Frozen Yogurt
An 8-ounce container of yogurt (I uses Dannon Light)
An 8-ounce container of cool whip (Lite or Low-Fat)
A package of berries (no sugar added).
Mix all together and freeze in a pie plate or cake pan. I mostly use strawberries and strawberry yogurt, and now they even have strawberry cool whip, but not lite or fat-free.
For other company, I sometimes add in some Splenda to sweeten the berries, or put in a graham cracker crust.
You could also make sugar free chocolate pudding, and mix in cool whip. Stir together and put in parfait cups with a shot of Reddi Whip on top. This is always a fun treat.
Sorry it is late in coming but, hopefully, you can use in the future as well.
SIL's recipe....
It sounds like your SIL is just the ticket!!!!
I've seen other recipes that are quite similar, and people have raved no end. But, in these recipes the meat cooks for a much, much, much shorter length of time.
I'm sure they're just as wonderful as the cooks and their dinner guests swear, but I've been rather stuck and quite stubborn on "my" recipe.
So, tell your SIL: Help!...Dinner is this weekend and my co-host and I were hoping to go shopping today, tomorrow at the verylatest.
Why I'm stuck on this one, I don't know, but Lord how I remember that taste, that smell!
Thanks so much!
need a recipe!
Does anyone have an easy recipe for a yummy, ooey, gooey cream cheese pastry that they'd like to share? Thanks!!
no recipe but
Try going to allrecipes.com and see if you can find one there for that! Do you want hamburger beef or real like beefsteak? Just buy some refried beans in a can, some tortillas, fry up some burger and add some burrito seasoning or salsa and wrap them up! Add a bit of sour cream and black olives, the works on top..oh I'm getting hungry now!
Bonappetite!
