Watched Rachael Ray make a yummy looking sausage/mac/cheese dish
today that is now on my list of things to make. If not tonight - then soon!
How to make (sm) It is easy
I bought a throw blanket, about 5' x 4' or so, then bought same size blanket fabric (had to trim it some so they are both same size. You put them one on top of the other and make cuts in about 2" or so, and about 1 inch apart so that you have fringe on three sides, but leave the top alone. They you just start tying both blankets together. It is kind of trial and error depending on how thick your blanket material is so you need to tye one and see if you need to cut in deeper or not. That's it! You just tie knots in the fringe on the three sides and you are done. If I can find a pic of one I'll try to post it for you.
LOL!! Let me make this easy for you...sm
Lose the attitude, B! And I don't mean blondie. ;) The word I was referring to ends in an H, it also has an I in it too. Then throw in a T and a C and well, I think you are a smart girl. It will come to you. :)
Ham rollups are always a hit and easy to make.
Ham Rollups
Packaged boiled ham sliced Cream cheese Green onions
Lay a slice of ham on a cutting board, spread cream cheese on the ham slice but not all the way to the edge, place a prepared green onion on one end (short end) of the ham slice, roll it up and then slice it up and place the pieces on a serving tray.
I'd give them all IAMS......make it easy on yourself
.
Easy to make, cant find recipe. Google. It has

Divorcing an alcoholic is not an easy thing to do
First and foremost you need to get him away from your children, sounds like they've been around it too long already. Living under the same roof with an alcoholic during a divorce is not the way to go. I'm one of those children and never understood why it took my mother so long to end it (of course that was years and years ago). Just because he is your children's father doesn't mean he should be around them. Obviously he chooses alcohol over his family. Don't bother trying to make it amicable, just get a good attorney. Half the time your hubby won't show up to court anyway! Good Luck!
Fruit salad, yummy yummy
Yummy yummy fruit salaaaaad!
I make these every year.
After making the peanut butter part I put the balls in the freezer to get hard. This also makes the chocolate coating a little thicker which my family likes. After dipping in chocolate they return to the freezer. Once hard I put them in air tight containers or ziploc bags and store in the freezer. They come back to room temp very nicely or you can eat them frozen which my son likes. I have had them in my freezer for about 3 months before and they have been just like the day I made them. Of course I usually have to hide them well if I want them to last more than a week. :)
I use regular chocolate chips and about a 1/2 inch square of parafin to 1 bag. How many bags, depends on the recipe. I usually make a huge batch when I make these but I think the standard recipe is 1 bag.
Oh, I have also found it easier to make if you stiffen the peanut butter mixture up a little with extra powdered sugar. When short on time, I have even mixed enough powder sugar to be able to roll without refridgerating first.
If you want a little twist on tradition, they are great to add a cashew or peanut inside the ball or mix in cereal to the peanut butter mixture, rice crispies are yummy.
One thing I know about a year around tan
is the link with Addison's disease. You might read up on that.
My husband did the same thing one year, except it
was blue with big white clouds on it. I was very angry, exchanged it, and still wasn't happy because I thought he just didn't care. My kids have always been great about gifts, even when not having a lot of money to spend. Anyway, I had my big pout session that year and didn't feel one bit better. I have since come to realize how wonderful it is to have a husband and family just to spend time with. I love him dearly whether he gets me anything or not. This year I got a very nice jewelry box for which I had absolutely no need, but he tried. He loves me and that's enough. I am so blessed. I could have been spending Christmas all alone, but instead, I got to spend the day with my family. DH had to work, so we had to celebrate later, but I still knew he was coming home that afternoon and I had that to look forward to.
I am the same age and decided the same thing last year.
Though, I fall back into old doormat habits, but I try to keep myself in check on a daily basis. You know people pleasing is a habit difficult to get out of. And by people pleasing, I seem to attract the wrong kind of people... I think the users of the world can smell a person who is willing to overlook users so they can help to feel useful.
I am trying to boost self-esteem and as I do little things for myself, I find I can use my judgement of character better. Instead of helping everyone, I help myself and still feeling guilty. This is something to get over. Once we do for ourselves we have enough inside to do for others in a healthy way.. and it will be reciprocal. How is it that so many MTs are such givers? The old saying "if I would have known then what I know now..." etc.
this year at our e.school they started a new thing...
the principal is a young hip guy...his new idea is called the "blue team", when a child is caught doing something "excellent", could be anything from getting along, teamwork, perfect paper..anything...the teacher writes a happy gram, sends him to the principal and he draws blue dots on one of their fingernails and is now "in the BLUE TEAM" ..its so corny, but eventually every child in the school is slowly recognized...its corny for sure but it gives them something to work towards. my little kindergarten boy..who can be so difficult just thought it was the coolest thing ever. my 3rd grade daughter got in at the beginning of the year and i really didnt think my son would, but just 2 weeks ago he did...he was so proud. wouldnt let me wash his finger that whole night...its just simple things.....
Last year I said same thing, Christmas is for children. SM
And I got clobbered on this board. Practically called un-Amreican.
I believe Christmas is for children. Up to age 18. After that, perhaps a check is in order, but that's about it. As far as gifts for aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, postman, WHOMEVER, forget it. Bake cookies. Have a party and invite friends and neighbors.
Say you are sending check to charity of choice and ask family and friends to do same. That is charity of their choice, since I know my family doesn't agree on anything.
But presents? Presents most of the people would not even want? Forget it.
You did the right thing. A year and a half ago 5 girls, sm
from a town that I used to live in, (1 had been in preschool with my daughter), just graduated from high school, were on their way to the family cottage of one of the girls, and they were all killed in a crash. There had been a text message sent from the driver's phone just before the crash. Everyone left behind was devastated.
Hopefully your actions will save her life.
I don't know how to make the avatar thing work.... :(
:(
and another thing...I wasn't trying to make myself seem more important sm
I was just saying reliable because I knew this stuff could very well be true - nothing to do with me personally. Get a grip - and I know who you are from your name. Shame on you.
You make it sound like it's a good thing --
Are you just being sarcastic? I hope so. I love kids, but seriously, this country can't afford to have women having more children than they can afford. Look at the mess we're in now with welfare, not to mention the abuse and neglect these children suffer. I live in a very rural, low income area. I have seen so many children whose parents don't care for them, yet they continue to "pop out" more babies to get more welfare benefits.
If this becomes a new trend, the govt will end up removing the welfare caps in order to support these children. I know it's not the children's fault, but it isn't my fault either. I'm tired of paying for the welfare system as it is.
I love the ambrosia my Grandmother used to make/beautiful pearls one year from DH. nm

Make him repay every mean thing he does to his brother with 3 nice things sm
Take away a privelege he really enjoys and make him spend that time doing three nice things for his brother - through gritted teeth - every time he does something mean. For example - you hit your brother, you clean his room, let him use your favorite toy and clean his plate for him after dinner tonight. If he responds in anger during that timeframe and hits again, he starts all over again, three nice things. I had to do this with my son with negative things he would say. It worked well. Now when he starts to slip up we start the three nice things again and he remembers quickly.
Yummy!
I forgot about twice baked potatoes. I also have my own take on that idea and we havent' had it in a while. Mine works well with leftover mashed potatoes too, which to me are always hard to re-invent.
I mix the potatoes with the usual butter, S&P, a little milk to loosen, then add sour cream, chopped bacon (which I store in the freezer pre-cooked leftover from breakfast), then I add chunked cheddar cheese and sometimes mashed roasted garlic if I have it. Mix all this up, toss in a 13x9 or whatever is closest in size, but extra butter on top and toss in the oven to heat and get a little brown on top. Its also great to make ahead and have waiting in the fridge. :)
I think I might try your mushroom addition, sounds delicious!

That sounds yummy, I'm going to

Yummy Recipes
I bought two Foster Farms Chickens, on sale, not over $5.00, well I got three meals out of those two chickens, cut each up for frying the best parts, made chicken soup with the less desirable parts, back, etc. adding my last frozen pack of tomatoes from DH garden last summer, and other veggies, bow tie pasta, sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan, Yummie. The other two packages, one will be oven fried chicken, recipe on breadcrumb container and the other from my Campbell's Soup Cookbook, something or other. Not bad for the price!
that sounds yummy!
And being as I'm from the Southwest, one additional layer for me would be green chili.

She's rich ($$$$$$$$$) at this point.... :) Not another show featuring cardboard and fake cooking sprays? Do we really need another show for "light eating"? Our elders lived long lives on lard...... :) Keep on cookin', just don't eat that heavy stuff every day/night! Enjoy....

Your menu sounds yummy - what time do we eat?

Bigger issue - a 16 year old living withi a 29 year old and liability
Are you still not responsible for him until he is 18, how can he tell you where he will live? Unless he emancipates himself and he does something wrong, can they go against you since you are his mother and legally responsible for him? I worry more about him living with a 29 year old sister rather than returning a house key to me that is a bigger issue.
Alan Rickman & Alec Baldwin...mmm...yummy.
Care to share the receipe? sounds yummy! nm

Yummy!!! I will be right there. I will bring coffee and my own table service. nm

That sounds so YUMMY especially with me craving coffee big time right now!
I have always thought about doing the Gevalia thing. You'll have to let us know how it compares and if it's worth the money.
My 14-year-old is going to be a mother-in-law (so funny) if you google it and 11-year-old daughter

I have this awesome recipe for hot italian subs..yummy. we had this tonight! sm
You take 2 Pillsbury french bread refrigerated rolls and make them into one big circle by combining the two.
Combine 4 T melted butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese and brush on top of bread. Bake for 15 minutes.
After bread is nice and brown, slice the ring horizontally making one large ring-type sandwich. Use your favorite deli meats and cheeses; turkey, ham, provolone, salami, pepper jack, American, pepperoni, etc. Place these on the break and bake open-faced for another 3-4 minutes. When done melting cheese add Italian dressing to the sandwich.
This is a Pampered Chef recipe that cooks very well on their round baker. It's a hit every time. I didn't have turkey but had plenty of left over ham from Christmas so I used ham and provolone.
The Pillsbury rolls are very easy to find AND I've seen them buy 1 get 1 free a few times so I will stock up and get 6 or 8 of them for this meal. Good luck!
While that is cooking
