Does anyone have that recipe? I am making chicken tonight and need something that I can throw together and stick in the oven while I'm working. I haven't cooked in a couple of days and the natives are getting restless for a home cooked meal!

try italian dressing powder packet that you mix yourself. sm
i marinate for about 3-4 hours in this and then grill. tastes really good. you'll have to mix it with vinegar. read packet and mix as directed and then marinate in it.
I love tuna with the mayo on salad with hot and sweet peppers and creamy italian dressing. YUM!
Just had to share - it's delicious.
I have this awesome recipe for hot italian subs..yummy. we had this tonight! sm
You take 2 Pillsbury french bread refrigerated rolls and make them into one big circle by combining the two.
Combine 4 T melted butter, garlic, and parmesan cheese and brush on top of bread. Bake for 15 minutes.
After bread is nice and brown, slice the ring horizontally making one large ring-type sandwich. Use your favorite deli meats and cheeses; turkey, ham, provolone, salami, pepper jack, American, pepperoni, etc. Place these on the break and bake open-faced for another 3-4 minutes. When done melting cheese add Italian dressing to the sandwich.
This is a Pampered Chef recipe that cooks very well on their round baker. It's a hit every time. I didn't have turkey but had plenty of left over ham from Christmas so I used ham and provolone.
The Pillsbury rolls are very easy to find AND I've seen them buy 1 get 1 free a few times so I will stock up and get 6 or 8 of them for this meal. Good luck!
While that is cooking
looking for a spagetti sauce recipe without meat.
Does anyone have a tomato sauce recipe without meat? The only reciipe I have calls for ground up beef. I am serving chicken cutlets and spagetti on the side. My DD inlaws to be is coming to dinner so I want it to be perfect.
Sauce can be for crockpot or stove.
Thanks. I always enjoy the recipes on this board.
Whole wheat pasta with sauce, put in chunks of chicken instead of beef, and drained canned tomatoes.

Anyone have recipe for chicken teriyaki on a stick in the oven? sm
I have the boneless chicken, the skewers, the teriyaki sauce, how can I do this in the oven without ruining everything or starting a fire? Kinda stuck in the snow here and making the best of preparing a menu. Also, if anyone still has the hashbrown casserole, I have all the ingredients (I think) but lost the recipe amts., etc.
Ooooh, my kids love them and we always have chicken, can you shoot me the recipe? :0) thanks!...nm

I've never posted a recipe here, but these pumpkin spice muffins are the best and are absolutely
I was told it is a Weight Watcher's recipte.
one box spice cake mix
one small can (not the large can) pumpkin mix
half cup water
I made them for dinner last night (and breakfast this morning too) and my very picky family absolutely loved them and how simple is that. Just mix the three together. I used a mini muffin pan. The are the most moist muffins I have ever had. Hope you enjoy and, again, they aren't too bad for you either.
Oh, the memories......I can pass for Italian, but I am not Italian. I got my heart sm
broken in two in Rome, NY. I was so in love with this guy up there....and when his family found out I was not Italian he had to break it off with me! I was devastated. haha
Would LOVE to take a trip up there and drive through the Adirondacks, visiting family near Lake Champlain...I would love to take hubby there and the kids. Wow! Now I'm really missing the place!!! I think I'll try it this summer! Keep in touch ladies!
My dad told me that I got the chicken pox from playing in the chicken coop. I believed him for years

Thank you! Actually, the fried chicken is chicken strips sm
breaded and fried that I make from scratch. Yes, I buy the 5 pound bag from Sam's club, fry it up and then toss is with my mom's famous teriyaki sauce cut into small, bite sized pieces. With 5 pounds cut up I can make well over 120 pieces. No big deal! Thanks for your suggestions!
Oh, those Italian men!
A few months ago I had some new tile installed in my great room. There was (is) a problem with it in that it is very expensive (around $16-18 for 1 tile) and spots started to appear for reason??? Contacted the installer and he contacted the place it was bought from and today the makers from Italy came to see just what was going on as they said had never had this problem before. Folks, I am telling you, I had my central air at a reasonable coolness but had to turn it down while they were here and after they left and I think am still hot under the collar, so to speak. Their good looks, their suave manners, OMG. I think I am moving there to Italy tomorrow!!
dressing
To each his own. I wish I did like cornbread dressing, but I absolutely do not! My best friend wouldn't fix anything else. As far as bread goes, I toast white/wheat bread in the oven first. Add ground pork, ground beef, celery, onions, garlic, 1 bunch of fresh parsley. Very good!!
Cranberries in dressing sm
I put finely chopped fresh cranberries in my Pepperidge Farm Seasoned Bread Stuffing (here in NE). It is a dried bread with stuffing flavoring in which I added cranberries chopped in my food chopper. I also substituted either apple juice or orange juice for the water. I did at one time use Swanson chicken broth instead of water but since I gave up greasy food, I could taste the grease, so I substitute juice. I also sometimes add raisins. People love my stuffing. I bake it separately in a casserole dish for about 45 min. at 350 or until the top starts to brown a little (not too brown). I also add finely chopped celery and 1 small finely chopped onion, 1 stick of low-fat margerine or butter (the butter does not taste greasy).
hair dressing
Check your closest beauty supply store. I think you may be looking for what is called a "hair dressing." They smell good, come in light to heavy. I use one on my "babies" who have extremely curly hair. They are biracial, but do not have the coarse black African hair. Their hair is just extremely curly and the hair dressing adds shine and moisture, not oil, to their hair.
I was thinking Italian
Very loud....very loving.
YUM, my mom's dressing balls.
made with different varieties of day-old bread, onions, celery, S&P, chicken broth and poultry seasoning, formed into balls, brushed with melted butter and baked until crispy on the outside. DEELISH!!
Same here Italian Family
Some fish, but no one in my family eats it so we also get a ham, my husband's family is Polish so we get perogies. Christmas Day our traditional Lasagne dinner and lots of homemade Italian cookies.
Another Italian family
I know just what you mean. Same thing with my family. My husband's family is Polish, but with ten kids in the family, I'm sure there was all kinds of yelling.
Mine was Italian too.....sm
Lasagna from scratch, home made garlic bread, and tossed salad. That's when I found out he HATES Neopolitan ice cream. LOL. We will be married 15 years this July.
Not if you are planning on baking
Wax paper will melt wax into your foods if you are baking. That being said, if you are making a cake you can butter the pan, both sides of the wax paper, and place the wax paper on the bottom of the pan wax side down, putting your batter on top. You can also use wax paper to steam. If you are planning on baking using direct oven heat (where the paper will be exposed directly to the enviornment around it) I would not suggest it.
Baking Stones?
Somebody gave me a brand new baking stone from Pampered Chef. I know people love them but I have never been able to figure out what you do with them except for cooking a frozen pizza... maybe...?
Baking stones
I LOVE my baking stones and use them all the time. The best thing to cook on them at first is something really greasy, like using crescent roll dough and make something with them. They are a greasy dough, so they help season the stone. I have a recipe for veggie pizza that uses the roll mix. The more seasoned your stone is, the better your food turns out. I make pizza, cookies, french fries. ANything that can be baked on a cookie sheet (within reason) can be baked on a stone. It makes killer calzone and pasties. Experiment and have fun with your new stone.
Baking gifts
Do any of you give baked goods during the holidays? What are some of your favorites? I get tired of making the same ole bread, cookies, and chocolate covered pretzels every year.
I will say that last year I put peanut butter between 2 Ritz crackers and then covered them in baking chocolate (white and semi-sweet) and they turned out really well. I put sprinkles on the white ones (they showed up better than on the semi-sweet ones).
country club dressing sm
Just attended a wedding at a country club. No matter where you go, everyone dresses differently. I would wear a dress or nice pants & top with some jewelry if you have any. Some of the men had suits and some had just a shirt and tie (with slacks, of course!). I wore a plain short dress with a jacket handy because the place was so air conditioned, and a nice necklace, nylons and a slight heel. Everyone was dressed differently. Just make sure your hair looks neat, your crowning glory, then the rest of you will feel just fine. I think since it is your family, you may feel better if you just look neat with a little jewelry that's in your budget. They are very fortunate that you are celebrating their milestone. Wearing a smile and taking lots of pics and giving a copy to the couple will put you high on their list. Have fun!!!

Don't understand why you read more into yuck! Unbelievable!
Italian Christmas Eve with fish.
There aren't a lot of us, so we won't do the full-on 7 fishes, but we'll probably have some mussels, some shrimp, pasta, maybe some baked white fish.
For Christmas, probably ham, because I can serve that hot or cold and we can relax and not stress.
Applebee's LOL. No cooking just baking.
:)
Try a little bit of baking soda on a washcloth
Just remember that the rubbing may cause a little redness, but i think it will help with the kool-aid. Been there, done that...
Formerly from Jersey, up there called it stuffing, down here they say dressing - HUH?

The older guys, unless cross dressing
or otherwise, would never think of burning candles just like they would not take bubble baths. I think your sexual preference is whatever you want but I do not, for me, want a metrosexual (I want facials, skin care, pedicures - you get the picture) man. As an older woman, I just like total masculine myself for a hubby, don’t want to second guess why he is using my makeup, candles, fingernail polish and the like. Any time you have to guess like the post did, there is probably more underlying than you see on the surface.
meant to say old Italian WEDDING song....n/m
Love the Italian therapy! My dad and uncle were...
raised that way...no coddling or worrying about hurting the little one's feelings. My grandmother would have made a fortune from her therapeutic thwaps!
Salmon with Makoto ginger dressing
This was our dinner tonight. DH made the salmon on the grill. Put it on foil with salt and pepper on low heat on the gas grill, he says. Total time on the grill was around 25 minutes (big, thick pieces), and about the last 7-10 minutes he put the dressing on with a brush. The thick part of the dressing stayed on top and the thinner part ran down onto the foil and carmelized the bottom (skin) side. We had fancy bread and sweet potatoes (microwaved with skins on) with it.
Salmon is so good for us, but the flavor is too strong for me unless it is doctored up to smooth the flavor down. This was fabulous. If you like ginger, try it.
My husband is Italian and has tons of sex appeal!
He definitely has dark good looks in my opinion! He's a Scorpio too, and if you believe in that sort of thing (I do to a degree), they are said to be the most passionate of all the signs.
Hmmm, if you're single you might just have to have another "problem" with your tile so they can come out again and you can set up a dinner date with one of them!
You misread my post. I was saying the usual dressing (since that is what they sm
call it down here) with added cranberries. I have never made it like that. I was saying that sounded yummy. I can't believe you got offended at this post. Unbelievable.
It was a full-on Italian Sunday dinner.
We always had Sunday dinner with my entire extended family. (We lived on the same street.) So Sundays were a giant food festival with my mother's, grandmom's, and aunts' kitchens going full blast right after church until all the food was brought to Grandmom's for dinner in the afternoon. The first time I cooked for DH, then-boyfriend, was just my usual Sunday routine. My mom was ill, so I did our share of the dinner, which was chicken parmigiana and probably some other things. I also made bread with my grandmother that morning. My poor husband came from a food-deprived culture. His mother can't cook, and Sunday dinners at his house were usually tuna sandwiches and tomato soup. He shared that information at the table with my family, and there was instant silence. You could have heard a pin drop. Jaws went slack and everyone stared. It's still one of my funniest memories. A second or two later, my older cousins started razzing me for bringing home the poor "Irish kid", and all the women jumped up and started heaping more food on my hubby's plate.
Sprinkle with baking soda and then vacuum
Works wonders.
father-daughter dance - old Italian song...
True southern, never had dried cranberries in dressing.
Yuck!
Stopped at the Italian market for hot capicolla and provolone..
I also picked up some bread, olives and roasted peppers. So we're having sandwiches. I'll probably make some broccoli rabe and throw some soup on, too.
We call it "dinner" in this part of the country. I'm fascinated by regional language differences.
(From the land where water is wooder.)
BBQ sauce
simple - sweet baby ray's
not so simple - To start: 1 can of tomato sauce, a little bit of molasses, a little bit of brown sugar, a little bit of onion powder, a little bit of garlic powder, a little bit of dried mustard. Then try, depending on your taste: a little bit of liquid smoke, a little bit of honey, a little bit of beer, or a little bit of whiskey. Not all together, though, just try some stuff. Good luck!
Whatever fluids you use, keep basting during baking, then cover with foil out of the

Question. Which oven rack do you normally use when baking meats or what have you. Never sure if
bottom rack is best or middle rack which seems rather far away from the heat.
Baking bread from scratch is hard work, sm
especially for people like us who abuse their hands working. Kneading bread is exhausting!
I have a bread machine and love it. It allows for both bread mixes and scratch ingredients. The bread tastes delicious, too.
Sorry, did you mean Maul's BBQ sauce? nm
