Our male cat Sebastian, who was so sweet and beautiful (a Russian blue) developed diabetes and we had to give him insulin shots every day. He was such a trooper and took his shots and never whimpered. It became so bad he developed kidney failure and all sorts of complications, so we had to put him to sleep. Broke my heart, and that is not the first pet I have lost. Yes, they really can become so precious, and are a part of your family. I am sorry for your loss.
