Definitely sounds like she is lonely. I think the suggestion about putting a mirror in the cage is a good one, at least in the short term. I might provide some comfort, plus stop some of the noise.

I am not familiar with finches, I have larger birds (parrots), but I do believe they need company and are more of a flock bird, so eventually you will probably need to provide a new companion. I think you are correct in researching things first though before you jump into anything. Hopefully the mirror will provide some relief in the meantime.
