if insurance falls through start making payments NOW

I'm not trying to jinx you, but in the event you make too much money to qualify for insurance, you can start making payments now to the hospital and an OB for care and labor/delivery. I am due May 8 and even though we have insurance (kind of crappy insurance) it is still a butt load of money for an uncomplicated birth. We started making monthly payments from the start to the hospital and the OB so it wouldn't be so bad all at once.

Also, if you do qualify for Medicaid and WIC (and this is your first baby like me), take advantage of any covered birthing classes and educational classes. I have taken classes and learned so much! It takes the stress off a little bit when you know what to expect.  Good luck!

I have been making my own laundry soap. It only costs me about $10 for a 6-month supply. nm
xx
I agree, I would send just send a card....
maybe a mass card if they are Catholic.
Yes, they do. 10-month teachers make more than 9-month
teachers. I know that for a fact. One of my sisters was a 9-month, one is a 10-month. They are compensated for working more scheduled hours.
3 payments....sm
I was in contact with them and didn't ignore them but at the three month point there was no hope. I had tried a payment arrangement a few months before and was able to do half of it, but I kept getting in deeper and eventually just couldn't make any payments. I don't know your situation, but try seeing if they'll work with you. Even after I missed the payments they still went higher up to see if they could do something else (they couldn't) b/c they have been getting so many voluntary surrenders of cars recently. Good luck.
Tell me why you are behind on payments and you don’t want husband to know
Are you the one responsible for certain bills- was the money used for something else, just why?
Not always true about minimum payments - sm
One of my kids was seen in the emergency department last April and we didn't get a bill for the visit until September. The outstanding bill was about 800.00.

As I have always done in the past, I made payments, no less than 100.00 per month to get it down. Along with the second statement in October was a letter from the hospital stating that we would need to choose one of three payment plans.
1. Payment in full.
2. Two installments for half of the balance each time.
3. Apply for a credit account at 18.9% interest.

This was definitely something new and I ignored it. There was NO way I was going to choose any of those three when I have always done as I was doing, making payments of no less than 100.00 per month until the balance was paid off.

Guess what.... when the balance was down to 200.00, they turned it over to collection. Yep. Turned it over.

Be very careful.
When looking at the two options, the monthly payments were much higher
if buying, I mean by double in many cases. Also, my husband knows the car dealers where we bought, and they were the ones actually explained all of it to us and why most of them lease! I'd rather pay under 300 a month forever than pay 500 or more a month for 5 or 6 years for the same car. Yes, you may not have car payments for a few years but what are you really saving based on the above? Plus, NO repairs and always having a brand new car. Some even come with free OnStar and satelite radio for a year, and other perks like that. Oh, I've bought many times in the past; and for me this is just a much better deal. To each his own.
Be very careful about credit card payments
I just paid off my Visa to the tune of over 7,000.00. This was what was posted but did not take into consideration the interest charges put on- I got a bill for $1.50 so I thought ok will send that in, I was a day late- (no excuse, just overlooked) and they had put my interest- get this from a low 10 to 117.16 for that month- now what would happen if I owed a REALLY BIG amount- I would never get that paid- how it worked out was I owe them now $15.59 which I think will pay before time. Just be aware, folks! These folks are ruthless....
Yes, especially if you are on a month-to-month basis

My mother had rental properties and has evicted tenants twice because her daughter (sis) decided she wanted to live there.  Those tenants were pretty upset at the time too, because they didn't want to move.  A landlord isn't required to have a reason for taking back their property or raising the rent.  They will likely give you a good reference since you're been a good tenant.

A year after Katrina, all the landlords on the Gulf Coast decided to double or triple their rent, just because they could.  Due to the housing crisis rents are going to continue to rise, because more people are losing their homes and looking for apartments.  Its all about supply and demand.

The bright side is that working at home allows you to live "anywhere", so you could see this as an opportunity to move somewhere completely different.  That's what I did, and I haven't regretted it.

If it is a month-to-month lease -

If there is no signed lease stating a specific time (1 yr, 2 yr, etc.) then it is implied as a month-to-month least and either the tenant or LL can terminate at any time.

I would look for a place pronto if I was the OP.

And she should get another job pronto too if the one she got ain't paying the bills.  No reason to let it go on month after month, paycheck after paycheck, until you are in the street, that is just plain stupid.

If she is getting evicted --- there is more to this story I believe.

send the 2yo to the
I have found the best way to handle it is to refuse to buy my husband any clothes at all. He has to go and buy his own clothes, and live with the look. It is none of my business. I only fill requests for bags of socks.
I always send
I always give a beautifully illustrated children's book, which truthfully people are never impressed initially, but after they cuddle their babies and read to them about 100 times in the middle of the night when they are sick, and eventually teach their kids to read the book back to them, they usually decide to keep it forever.

But receiving blankets are nice also.. :)
I wouldn't send it and this is why . . .
People like this get off on how they are hurting people. She can see in your email that you are hurting, and although it is a valiant and kind effort on your part, she will see it as a sign of weakness and groveling, which is what would delight her.

I'm so sorry you're put in this situation. You sound like a kind, gentle person and you certainly don't deserve the way she treats you.

The only thing I can suggest is to be around her as little as possible (family gatherings, traditions, etc.) and always choose to be in another room, on the opposite end of the dinner table, etc., as physically far away from her as possible.

Continue to be pleasant, don't stoop to her level, and you don't owe her an apology for anything.

She's the one with the problem, not you.
Know anyone can send email...
I said sent in error and that is what happened, not that you had anything to do with this, you did not. Apparently by saying independent and asking about how to send in taxes, this person thought I was maybe owner of a company. Maybe rereading the post I held no one accountable, no one. I would never respond to a post like this because of it being from India and just too many scammers out there for me. The first sentence says - - I don’t know where they got my email unless this site is giving it out - this sentence did not come from me.
Where are you? Wish I knew how to send
pictures so I could show you what our place looks like. I live in suburb of Atlanta and even the bigger homes in my neighborhood, say the 2-3 story places do not run, say over 400-500$$. I could not imagine paying huge price for a home to have a cracker box. I think lot of people paying huge amounts for homes would be surprised if they went on line and checked for homes say in Henry County or Fayette County, both just right outside Atlanta. You really get a bang for your buck here. Not only the cost but wonderful place, clean, quiet, really nice. What are the costs of your homes there?
Maybe I should send milk
I can't believe the milk prices elsewhere. Anyone want NY milk. LOL.
Let me send you my address...LOL!! nm

Send some to Arkansas PLEASE! :)

Send the over 60 crowd to war....

Maybe this should be on the politics board but it's funny on any board......

Drafting Guys over 60
----this is so Funny & obviously written by a Former MARINE-----

New Direction for any war
:
Send Service Vets over 60!
I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards.  Instead of sending 18-year olds off to  fight, they ought to take us old guys.  You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.

For starters
:
Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds.  Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.

Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts!  I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for a while.

An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys always get up early to pee so what the hell.  Besides, like I said, 'I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch.

If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them.  In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.

Boot camp would be easier for old guys.  We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food.  We've also developed an appreciation for guns. We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.

They could lighten up on the obstacle course however.  I've been in combat and didn't see a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.  I can hear the Drill Sgt. In the 'New army' now, 'Get down and give me ... er .. One.'

Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too. I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.

An 18-year-old has the whole world  ahead of him. He's still learning to shave, to start up a conversation with a pretty girl.  He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.

These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way.

Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten cowards terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see right now is a couple of million pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons who know that their best years are already behind them.

If nothing else, put us on border patrol....we will have it secured the first night!

Share this with your senior friends.  It's purposely in big type so you can read it..........

OMG! Please tell me you didn't send this
While I fully understand wanting to protect your kids and trying to deal with the bullying this is definitely a letter that would create a bigger problem (at least that is the way I read it). If I was the receiver I would be outraged.
If my kids were being bullied, I would call the parents and introduce myself and tell them about our kids being in the same school then very politely and gently tell them what has been happening to your kids.
When I read this letter I was picturing myself being the receiver and found myself infuriated. It is very condescending, and is basically telling the parents they are really lousy (can't write the true word) parents. There has to be a better way to deal with this.
I would not send son back.
//
he did send a thank you letter
the following day. See I don't know if the secretary gave the interviewer the message and he didn't call back or if he didn't get it. If he did get it I'm worried if he calls again he'll seem to pushy.

They should just make it a law that you have to tell them right after the interview!! LOL
Anyone know of a place I can send...sm
My father took our wedding pictures as he is good behind a camera and we wanted to save some money. But now (a year later..lol) I want to have some of them cropped and black and white and softened, etc. Anyone know of a reasonably priced place I can send a CD of pictures to and have them edit them and print them out for me so I can finally create my wedding album? Thanks in advance.
$50 a week if I send DH. $100 or more if I go

I always overspend cause there's always something on sale that I will need sooner than later. DH goes by the list and the list only.

I live in PA and there are only 2 of us now.

Send me one of those. LOL I get pumpkin pie
only if I buy it. DH doesn't like it.
Tried to send but guess what?
My street address ends in Trace and it said I had to put in road, street, etc.- would not accept the Trace. I appreciate it anyway.
Wish you would send some this way (Atlanta)!
xx
Yep, see above. I did send them and feel
wonderful! It was even more fun than giving gifts because it seed more old fashioned and personal. Thanks for the egging on. As the above poster said, now I can't wait to see if anybody responds! Merry Christmas to you!
Send them a letter . . .
stating that the debt is not valid. They will have to prove the debt is valid within 30 days before they can continue trying to collect. A lot of times, collection agencies buy up batches of bad debt for pennies on the dollar and do not have documentation to prove it is a valid debt. Many times, they give up after this, but will sell it to another collection agency. Also send a letter telling them to stop contacting you. It is a good idea to send these letters certified.

If they cannot prove it, dispute it if it is on your credit reports. Also check your state's statute of limitations for collecting debt. In my state it is 7 years. If they do not collect it by then, they are legally out of luck.

Lastly, if they prove it is a valid debt and it is within the legal time frame, you can negotiate a payoff with them. Don't pay more than the original debt because they only paid pennies on the dollar for it.
Here they send deputies after you.

buy every month
Melaleuca products you have to buy 35 products points each month to keep your account. Which is anywhere from $40 a month to whatever you want to buy. You don't necessarily have to work the business part you can earn a check each month without actually signing up any customers. Customers will be put under you by other people and you will be making money off of the products that they buy. That is waht my mother does. She isn't in it for the business she just loves the products and still gets a check each month
$347 per month

Don't go out to eat except maybe once a month.

It's amazing how much money you will save by doing all the cooking yourselves at home and brown-bagging lunch.  This includes those $2 cups of coffee here and there every day--really adds up fast!

Keep your goal somewhere in site...literally slapping a picture of your dreamhouse on the fridge or some place you'll be reminded every day of why you are making the sacrifices you are making.  Good luck!

Since you have a month, why don't you

get together and do a pic of the team or even a few and frame it!  I'm sure he'd like that.  You can even go to one of those machines, have it blown up and have it say something special down below.

Also, they like gift cards to the local convenience store.  Everyone could use a gift of "gas" especially when they are volunteers...

Happy sporting!  Glad you had a great coach!

Ours is usually between $200-$250 per month.
Our electric company has some of the highest rates in the country...lucky us! Our bills usually go up a bit in the summer from using the air conditioning and running the pump for our pool. Electricity is definitely our highest utility bill!
PS: I didn't send the letter...Thanks! nm

I just wanted to send my sympathy your way...
May you find comfort in the Lord.
No, she did not send me the exact thing,
did not know I would have to explain, she sends me rah-rah-rah all for the war type things which I delete. I choose to read other things instead of this.
After we type in the post and we hit send...sm

After we type a post and click on Post Reply - we get sent to an authentication page to type in a code...like 2d4s or something.  Someone last week had asked MTStars to fix it so that when we get to that page, the mouse/cursor ends up automatically in the box so all we have to do is type the code, versus how it was before - we had to place the mouse/cursor into that little box.  MTStars addressed this poster by fixing it.  I was not the poster who asked for the fix but I certainly recognized the fix and was just thanking MTStars for fixing it.

Have a great weekend!!!

I would love to send you 2 books. Please consider sm
this. I lost 2 family members on the same day back in March and I know your pain. email me and I will get them out to you.
I know you are looking for on-line help, but these books can be read in a day. Very easy reading. One book I know the author personally, attended a class he taught, and is a very good man. Email me.

Good for you, now send some of your Will-power my way please. nm
!
And if recruited, would send my child to
Canada.
Ooohhhh---send some to me so you won't pop! ROFL
I love fresh tomatoes from the garden. Slice 'em up, a little salt - that's a meal!
I would send it back - word does have it
In MS Word this is how I get my line count to submit on my invoice....
At the top screen click on tools, then click on Word count. I use the line that is characters (with spaces) and divide by 65. Have used this method for 5 years and have never had a problem.
So cute! Could you send more pictures? n/m

Don't just send a note to the school...
Call the principal. We had something like this happen last year at one of the schools here where I live. It is a serious thing, because some of these kids actually try to carry through.
Why would you send in an RSVP card
for dinner. The answer I would give is NO. I got an invitation to a cousin's wedding, someone I never heard from, her mother (paternal aunt), never heard from her either and I laughed and threw the invite in the garbage. Why would you even think you had to go or even respond?
I would send copy of it to my employer. -(sm)-
Just to let them know what the human cost is for their greed, chintzy paychecks, lack of work, and lack of resptct for their employees.
Don't have your mammo at the end of the month, then.
Or it will hurt. Schedule it when they aren't painful. I've had it before, but I took evening primrose oil capsules for maybe six months. No more trouble.
Won't the be surprised next month
This happened to an older friend of mine.  Poor thing couldn't get another policy to save her life, and it wasn't a cosmetic issue, it was like entire siding pieces that flew off of her house.  Oh, they and came fixed it, then they dropped her like a bad disease.  They'd better be careful.  Just a friendly warning...  I don't know if I'd let the homeowner's insurance in on that deal, I'd cut my losses and replace the carpet.
